Clairessa’s POV

Oh my God.

It all made sense now.

Everything—why Gabriel was the way he was.

Daniel’s story… about his friend walking in on him…

But he never got to say the name of his best friend because Gabriel had walked in.

Now, I finally understood the feud—how two close friends could turn into enemies.

The betrayal had cut so deep into Gabriel—I could see the hurt on his face, the pain he had buried for years now rising to the surface.

"Gabriel... I'm... so, so—"

His expression darkened instantly. "I don’t need pity," he cut me off, tilting his head slightly.

"That night turned me into this man you claim is so hardened. There was a time I loved earnestly… and it was destroyed."

My heart broke at the rawness in his voice.

I held his gaze, willing him to see my sincerity. "It’s not pity, Gabriel. It’s understanding–for the hurt and pain you went through. No one deserves that kind of betrayal.”

His jaw tensed. "You’re right… I guess you can relate. Your ex che

  • Falling For My Ex's Dad   Chapter 228: He Undressed Me With His Eyes

Clairessa's POV It was day two of Randolph’s over-the-top birthday celebration, and today he’d invited us to a laid-back poolside hangout at his private villa. No external guests—just the “storm team,” as he liked to call us.This time, I made sure to get to the pool early, before anyone else. I wasn’t about to repeat yesterday’s mistake—showing up late for no good reason, unless you count oversleeping and spending too long getting ready to knock Gabriel off his game. And honestly? It worked. He was all over me.Not that I let it show. I played it cool—like it hadn’t fazed me at all. But it was all part of the plan: make Gabriel sweat, throw him off balance. And watching him lose control?God, I loved every second of it.The pool area was calm. Lounge beds lined side by side, each with neatly folded white towels. The water looked clear and blue under the sun, and soft music played from the speakers nearby. Everything felt easy and peaceful.I picked a lounger close to the water, set

  • Falling For My Ex's Dad   Chapter 227: You Loved Being Teased By My Fingers

Gabriel’s POV The lights dimmed to near black, leaving only a soft golden glow on the stage.A sudden, deep bass began to play. The Flame Dance group took their places as the music increased. Their performance was a perfect blend of art and seduction.Men and women moved too close, too slow. Their hips rolled together as their hands traced over each other’s bodies, touching intimately as they moved in sync with the beat.At one point, sparks flew as two dancers twirled with lit torches, the fire spinning in perfect rhythm.Gasps echoed around the table. Laughter followed. Hushed words of admiration went on across the guests.Randolph was loving every second, eyes wide, grinning like a man proud of what he paid for. The rest of the team looked equally mesmerized.Everyone at the table was hooked. Except me.I wasn’t watching the stage.I was watching her.Clairessa.She sat beside me, eyes locked on the dancers like nothing else existed. But I noticed the tension in her back. The way

  • Falling For My Ex's Dad   Chapter 226: Let Me Love You, Baby

Gabriel's POV I dragged Clairessa out of that godforsaken dining room, through a side corridor, past the fancy walls and expensive decor.I just needed to take her somewhere secluded. My hand gripped hers tighter than I meant to, but she didn’t pull away. The moment we turned the corner and found a dim, quiet space hidden just beyond the hall, I spun her around and pinned her to the wall.“Gabriel,” she gasped, palms pressed to my chest, trying to push me back. “What are you doing?”I didn’t let her. I caught one of her wrists, raised it, pinned it above her head, and pressed my body into hers so she’d feel what she was doing to me.“One more damn second at that table without being able to touch you, and I would’ve lost my goddamn mind.”Her eyes widened—part shock, part desire. “You can’t. People could see…”“I don’t give a fuck.”I leaned in, brushing my lips against hers, not a kiss, just teasing her.My other hand dragged down her back, found her waist, and yanked her closer into

  • Falling For My Ex's Dad   Chapter 225: I Can Smell Your Arousal

Gabriel’s POV I was seated at the long dining table, surrounded by handpicked guests, including business partners, old allies, and a few close friends Randolph insisted on entertaining. It was supposed to be an intimate dinner. A warm-up for the ridiculous birthday weekend he had planned. But Randolph wouldn’t shut up. He was in full host mode, telling jokes, sipping his wine, laughing loud enough to rattle the damn walls. His excitement over the coming celebration was written all over his face. I’d give him that, he loved the spotlight. My eyes scanned the table. Nicole sat directly across, wearing something too tight and too red, already pretending she was the main attraction. Adrian sat beside her, jaw set, pretending to care about Randolph’s monologue. Maybe he was finally ready to step up. Redeem himself in his father’s eyes. Good. But none of them mattered. Because the seat beside me—was still empty. Clairessa wasn’t here. I tightened my grip around my wine glass, ja

  • Falling For My Ex's Dad   Chapter 224: I'm Never Letting You Go

Clairessa’s POV The car hadn’t even stopped before Nicole had her face pressed against the window, buzzing with excitement. The second we stepped out, I had to admit—it was impressive. The kind of resort where the super-rich came to disappear for a weekend and blow off steam. Nicole gasped beside me. “Oh my God. This place is gorgeous! I mean—finally! I’ve always wanted to come on one of these trips.” I didn’t respond. I was too busy watching Adrian, who was oddly quiet beside her. Normally, he’d have something smug or self-important to say. But now? Silence. And for once, I hoped he’d stay that way. Nicole, of course, kept going. “Ugh, I swear, Claire. You always get picked for these things with Gabriel. You’re like, his star girl,” she said with a fake laugh. Then, under her breath, loud enough for me to hear: “Thank God he finally added me to one. I was starting to think I needed to do special favors to get selected too.” I stopped mid-step and threw her a warning glare.

  • Falling For My Ex's Dad   Chapter 223: Surrending To The Fire Between Us

CLAIRESSA’S POVGabriel was right.God, I hated that he was right.I couldn’t keep pretending nothing had happened between us—not after last night, not after what almost happened on the porch if Adrian hadn’t walked in. This fire between us wasn’t something I could just brush under the rug and keep walking. It shook me—to my core. And no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t outrun it.I hadn’t been able to focus on anything since it happened. And maybe, yeah—I wanted him to sweat. To feel even a fraction of what I felt when he left me... when he handed me off like I was something to be passed down. But now, as my eyes searched his—caught the anguish etched across his face and heard the raw, unfiltered pain in his voice when he said we needed to talk—something inside me melted. He was watching me—those eyes dark, waiting, tense, like he was bracing for another blow. Ready to fight if I pushed him away again. For the first time in what felt like forever, I let my walls fall.“Gabriel…” I
