Gabriel’s POV

Clairessa didn’t look at me. Not once.

I ended the call mid-sentence. Whatever deal it was could wait. I couldn’t focus anyway.

My hand dropped to my side as I watched her climb the stairs like she was dragging the weight of the world behind her.

Her shoulders were hunched, arms wrapped tight around those shopping bags like they were the only things keeping her together.

The way her foot dragged on the top step made my chest twist.

I’d seen her bruised before—but not like this.

This was devastation.

And her eyes… I didn’t need a clear view to know they were red and swollen. She’d been crying.

Dammit. Watching her like that—broken—and not being able to go to her, to comfort her… it tore at me.

The front door closed with a soft thud, pulling my attention back.

Adrian stepped in, locking it behind him. His face was pale, hair tousled like he’d been dragging his fingers through it for hours.

“Dad…”

I didn’t answer right away. Couldn’t.

My eyes stayed on the sta

The book is being 'serialized' ? I hope that means more chapters are coming. I just bought a lot of points! This is a real cliffhanger and I'm really invested in these characters. So many questions like: Who's responsible for the arson? To the Writer: Please, keep it coming. This is a great read!

  • Falling For My Ex's Dad   Chapter 291: My Protection

Clairessa’s POV I giggled softly, brushing my fingers along his jaw, though I could feel how deadly serious he was. “Well… at least it would be the first headline that’s true.” His mouth curved into a marveled smile. “And who are you, Claire? Who have you become? This woman before me, daring me to lose control in the street…” His grip on my waist tightened. “You’re not the same girl I knew. You’re… more. Wilder. Mine.” Before I could answer, he kissed me like I was oxygen, his mouth urgent and consuming. His hands locked on my waist, and in one effortless motion he lifted me clean off the ground like I weighed nothing, like some damn superhero who refused to let go. A startled laugh broke from me before it dissolved into a gasp. My legs wrapped around his hips instinctively, dragging him tighter against me. The hard press of him met the ache between my thighs, and a raw moan ripped from my throat before I could stop it. “Fuck,” he hissed, burying his face against my neck, biting,

  • Falling For My Ex's Dad   Chapter 290: Making Out In The Streets

Clairessa’s POV The panic in his tone hit me harder than the words themselves. He was spiraling, every instinct gearing toward danger, toward protecting me, and I knew if I didn’t stop him now, he’d work himself into a storm he couldn’t climb out of. I slid my hand down from his arm, forcing him to face me. “Gabriel, look at me,” I whispered. “Look at me.” His restless eyes finally landed on mine. “Tonight belongs to us,” I told him confidently, willing him to hear me. “Maybe Marco has been watching. Maybe he did follow us here. You’re right, he’s probably plotting something. But tonight was supposed to be different. It was supposed to be ours. After the scandalous week we’ve had, I’m not going to let him ruin it.” He shook his head, his hand raking through his hair like he couldn’t let go of the thought. “You don’t understand. He’s dangerous, Rissa…” “I do understand,” I cut in, firmer this time. I stepped closer, close enough that the streetlamp lit the flecks in his eyes. “L

  • Falling For My Ex's Dad   Chapter 289: Are We In Danger?

Clairessa’s POV The tenderness in Gabriel’s touch shifted, replaced by anger tightening through his frame. His grip on my hand firmed, almost fierce, as he pulled me from the restroom and back into the restaurant. The air seemed to shift around him as he scanned the room. His gaze locked on one of the staff, and with a single wave of his hand he drew their attention. His voice carried through the space, deep and commanding. “I demand to see your manager.” The young worker seemed confused, panic flashing across his face. “S-sir, is there a problem?” Gabriel’s glare hardened. “Now.” The young worker flinched, then quickly turned and hurried away, disappearing down a narrow hall. Within moments a man appeared, mid-thirties, dressed in a neat suit, a welcoming smile fixed on his face. But the smile shifted the instant his eyes met Gabriel’s expression. “Mr. Storm,” he greeted carefully, his tone respectful yet edged with worry. “I was told you wanted to see me.” Gabriel stepped f

Gabriel’s POV Marco’s laughter rattled through the restroom. “Is that why you ruined my ties with the others? My partners? You had no right to interfere in what wasn’t yours!” “I didn’t ruin anything,” Gabriel shot back. “I wasn’t the one stealing from them. I wasn’t the one hiding money in offshore accounts. All I did was expose you for the bastard you are.” Marco’s chest heaved, his breath ragged. “And yet… I walked free. You tried to bury me, Gabriel, but here I am. Untouchable.” “You think so?” Gabriel leaned in, his voice threatening. “Go near Clairessa again, just try it, and this time, there’ll be no getting out. I’ll make sure of it.” Marco wiggled against Gabriel’s hold, fury twisting his face. “You think you’ve won? No… I’ll burn down everything you love, everything you built. Both of you will pay. Mark my words.” Before I could breathe, Gabriel’s hand clamped around Marco’s throat and squeezed tightly. His heels scraped helplessly across the tiles, his face reddening

  • Falling For My Ex's Dad   Chapter 287: The Monster Has Returned

Clairessa’s POVI leaned against the vanity, the marble cool against my palms. My reflection glowed softly back at me, hair smooth and full from the curls I’d brushed out, lips shining with gloss, eyes still bright from the warmth of dinner. I couldn’t stop the little smile tugging at my mouth. Dinner had been perfect. For the first time in so long, I’d felt like I was on top of the world.I ran my fingers through my hair, though it didn’t need fixing. Truth was, I was wasting time, letting him wait, taunting him. And if I admitted it to myself, another part of me wanted to see if he would actually come for me. My phone glowed faintly as I scrolled through it, killing minutes I didn’t need to waste, heart beating with that strange mix of playfulness and anticipation. Then the restroom door pushed open.I didn’t glance up immediately. My lips curved as I whispered, almost teasing, “Took you long enough…”But the voice that came wasn’t his. It was croaky, and it crawled straight under

  • Falling For My Ex's Dad   Chapter 286: Ravenous Hunger

Clairessa’s POVThe slender blonde-haired hostess led us through the dimly lit restaurant, soft light glinting off the table. Gabriel walked ahead, his hand resting lightly on the small of my back, his presence commanding even in such an elegant space. She guided us to the main table, set beautifully with flashing candles, crystal glasses, and little petals of red roses scattered across the white linen. When we reached it, he smoothly drew out my chair, waiting until I sank into it before taking his place across from me.I let my eyes take in the scene, my voice in awe. “This… this is beautiful.”His lips curved into that arrogant, irresistible way that was so purely him.“You deserve only the best,” he said, his tone equal parts sweet and maddeningly confident. He leaned back slightly, eyes holding mine with that pure heat. “I’m a man who can give you more than flowers and candlelight… I can give you everything you’ll ever need, and more,” he added, his words washing over me like a p
