Daniel’s POV

Annabel pouted, her lips pressed tightly together, her eyes glowing with fury. I could almost see the words trembling at the edge of her mouth, heavy and sharp, eager to cut their way out. But she didn’t let them escape. She swallowed them, burying her anger beneath that stubborn pout, and in that single second, I knew she was holding back more than she could control.

Before I could say anything, Annabel was already at the door where Stephanie stood. She gave her a hard gaze, standing chest to chest with her for a long moment. Stephanie’s chin lifted as if daring Annabel to break first, but Annabel did not flinch for once. She gave Stephine the last sharp stuffing look before she finally yanked the door open slamming it shut behind her.

I let out a deep growling sound, biting my lip so hard before turning back to my seat, avoiding eye contact with Stephanie making sure my every move reminded her that her presence meant nothing to me.

She took a quick step, positionin

Annabel’s POV I wanted to. God, I wanted to throw everything out and tell him the truth. Every single detail. But the image of my father… Fiona’s look… how she would take all this when she finds out the truth, and then there is Daniel. He would never forgive me for making him believe we have a future, only to discover that I knew we were siblings and had been hiding it from him. The thought of what the news headline would look like kept replaying in my head: “Daniel Stroke, the second richest bachelor in New York, is rumored to be in a relationship with his stepsister.” Daniel stared at me, searching, as if trying to dig the truth out of my skin with just his eyes. Finally, he swiped the phone to answer the call, but he put it on loudspeaker so I could hear whatever it was. “Leo, what’s the update?” he asked, standing rigid, one hand in his pocket, his back half turned to me. “We lost him, sir.” Leo’s voice was faint on the other end. Daniel’s eyes flew open, his jaw tighteni

  • Falling For My Father’s Son   Chapter 71: Protecting Her

Daniel’s POV All my life, I have never been this scared. At one point, I thought I had lost her forever. The moment Leo informed me about her being in danger, my throat sank into my chest, every thought of something worse flashing through my mind. But watching her lean on my chest now, too weak yet looking peaceful, gives me a strange sense of calm. Leo pulled over in the garage, and in a flash, I scooped Annabel into my arms and carried her until we were inside my room. Gently, I laid her on the bed, believing she was fast asleep, only for her hand to coil around my wrist, gripping too tightly, just as I turned to leave. “Don’t leave, please,” she whispered. I turned and walked back to her, sitting at the edge of the bed. I could still see how terrified she was from the incident that had just happened. “Please, stay with me. I’m scared.” She whispered. I couldn’t even say no. How could I? No matter how hard I try to convince myself to hate her, there is still this spot in

  • Falling For My Father’s Son   Chapter 70: Carrying Her Away From The Darkness

Daniel’s POV My gaze remained fixed on the spot where Annabel had walked through, every part of me aching to go after her. Something was definitely wrong, not just the glass of drink that she hardly finished. I saw it. Her eyes, when she dropped the glass… it felt like she was drowning in a shallow depth. Struggling to act brave, but I could see through her. That drink was not just a normal one. Leo came inside the room, his eyes searching every corner before landing on me. With a sharp step, he was standing beside me. He leaned over, sounding urgent. “Boss, I think Annabel might be in trouble,” he whispered. I jolted out of the sofa that I was resting on, standing up to make my move out in search of her when Stephanie held me back. “Daniel, the main fun is about to start.” Feigning concern, she took turns glancing between Leo and me, acting like she had no idea about whatever was going on. But I already knew it. She had a hand in everything that had been happening t

  • Falling For My Father’s Son   Chapter 69: Shadows of Danger

Annabel’s POV The room began to spin uncontrollably. I was hearing noises, but none of the sounds were clear. I couldn’t place my head on what exactly was wrong with me. Something must have been added to my drink. What could it be? Who could have done it? And why? My gaze drifted from Daniel, who looked confused also, and to Stephanie. Her expression said it all. She must have planted this. I held my head so tight, as if that alone would ease the ache I was feeling, the second hand pressing protectively on my stomach. Something was not right. It wasn’t just the drink. It was something I couldn’t give account of. My body was getting weaker, my knees vibrating, ready to break down, and that was when I couldn’t help it anymore. I moved to our chief organizer, praying that he didn’t see this as just an excuse. “I need to use the restroom, please…” I managed to spill out the words, even though my lips were too heavy to move. He did not drag it out. With just a wave of h

  • Falling For My Father’s Son   Chapter 68: Selling Her Body For Money

Daniel’s POV My hand curved around the glass I was holding, gripping it so tight that I thought I could smash it with just the tip of my fingers. Annabel stood there, struggling to shield herself with her hands, literally half-naked. The silver lingerie she was wearing glittered, stealing the attention of everyone in the room. Her hair was packed into a neat bun, light makeup enhancing her features. Her curves, her breasts, her skin — everything was out in the open. I watched the other men in the room, their eyes wandering, palms rubbing in excitement. Every curve of her body was screaming temptation. My temptation. Because no one else was ever meant to see all this. Only I deserved to see her exposed. Nobody had the right to even glance at what was mine. To make everything more difficult, she snapped out immediately when our eyes met, pretending I didn’t exist. Why did she desperately need money? How could she go this low, to the extent of selling her body for m

  • Falling For My Father’s Son   Chapter 67: Set Up

Annabel’s POV I couldn’t stop pacing around since I entered my office. Every single word Daniel told me kept replaying in my head. The fact that he could no longer trust me with any project hurt me even more. I caused all this. How could I allow Stephanie to manipulate me so easily? Each time I was around Daniel, it became more difficult to tell him the truth. Just his closeness awakened this electrifying heat that scared me, reminding me that he might hate me forever if he ever found out I had been keeping a secret from him. The office door creaked open and Stephanie strode in, her presence dripping with confidence accompanied by arrogance. I didn’t move, my breathing steady but hot, my eyes locked on hers with the desperate hunger to erase every memory of my secret from her head. “If you are here for more drama, I advise you to leave, because you will never get any,” I said, my stance blocking her from stepping further into my office. She laughed dangerously, every sound fro
