I couldn’t get that photo out of my head.

Based on what I’d researched, Celeste had no real connection to Angel’s Orphanage.

Yes, her family was the main sponsor—but she was never involved.

It was always her parents who made appearances.

And besides, it wasn’t in her nature to be around children.

Earlier today, she even had her face completely covered—mask, sunglasses, the works—and she barely touched the kids.

That was one of the reasons why I found myself getting more irritated with her.

Sebastian’s POVI could sense it miles away. I could see it in her eyes. The way she moved, the way her voice lingered with false sweetness. It was her—Agatta. She was the reason why my father was lying in a hospital bed, fighting for his life.“We’ll know the truth, Seb. Don’t worry.”Eloise’s voice was soft, steady, almost as if she could hear the storm raging inside my head.I turned to her. The sunlight streaming through the car window illuminated her face, casting her in a serenity I couldn’t touch. She smiled at me with those innocent eyes, and for a heartbeat, I felt my chest ache.“I know,” I said tightly. “But I also don’t know how I can accept the truth when it comes

Someone’s POVAgatta and Angelo rushed out of the hospital after learning the truth about Salazar’s condition.Angelo couldn’t help but notice the sudden shift in his mother’s demeanor. While they were driving, she was already on her phone, speaking in a hushed but urgent tone.“Yes. Prepare everything. We’ll leave tonight,” Agatta said. She ended the call, slipped her phone into her bag, and stared out the window, biting her lip. Her face betrayed the urgency she was trying to conceal.Angelo frowned. “You’re leaving, Mom?”Agatta glanced at him briefly. “We are.”His eyes widened. “What? Dad’s still in the hospital, Mom! Why are we leaving now?”Agatta waved her hand dismissively. “No more questions, Angelo. Your things are already packed. There’s nothing for you to worry about.”Angelo blinked in disbelief, staring at her. How can she think of leaving now, when Dad is fighting for his life? His jaw clenched. Then the question slipped out before he could stop it.“Did you do it, Mom

  • Falling In Love with my Cold Billionaire Husband   Chapter 105: Confrontation

Eloise’s POVThe entire room was wrapped in silence. Even though I wasn’t part of their conversation, I could feel the weight of the tension in everyone’s demeanor.“Why are you so certain about what might happen to Dad, Agatta?” Sebastian asked again.Agatta’s eyes darted restlessly, and suddenly she couldn’t stay still in her seat.I couldn’t help but watch her closely.Angelo frowned at Sebastian.“I don’t like your tone, brother. It’s as if you mean something else,” Angelo said.“And you sound defensive,” Sebastian replied sharply.Angelo’s eyes narrowed. He was about to speak, but Agatta placed a hand on his arm. They exchanged silent signals, and in the end, Angelo let out a deep breath, shaking his head as he leaned back in his chair, his brow still furrowed.Agatta wiped her tears.“I have no other wish but for your father to recover, Sebastian. And I meant nothing else by what I said. We just have to be prepared for what could happen,” she explained. “Your dad’s health is dec

Sebastian’s POVThe smile on my face never faded as we drove toward the hospital.Lucille’s visit to my office had been unexpected, but what truly stunned me was Eloise’s courage earlier. She had been ready to fight anyone who dared to take me away from her. Just the memory of it made my chest tighten in the best way.“You’re happy, huh? You think I’m still not mad?” she asked sharply.I grinned, reached for her hand, and placed my palm over hers.“I know. But yes, I’m happy.”Eloise rolled her eyes. She tried to pull her hand back, but I tightened my grip and brought it closer to my lips, kissing the back of her hand.“I can’t believe you, Sebastian,” she muttered, shaking her head.I trailed my lips along her hand—softly, slowly—until they brushed her forearm.“Hey! You’re driving!” she scolded.I chuckled and stopped, though I still didn’t let go of her hand.I was happy. Really happy. At this point in my life, all I wanted was to spend my days quietly with Eloise. To marry her aga

Eloise’s POV“What is the meaning of this, Sebastian? Why is she here?!” I demanded.Sebastian quickly removed Lucille’s hand from his arm and stepped slightly away from her. His lips parted as if to speak, but Lucille beat him to it.“We’re going to visit Tito at the hospital,” she said confidently, her expression smug. She latched onto Sebastian’s arm again like a parasite that refused to let go.Sebastian only pressed his lips together and rubbed the back of his neck.I could feel the heat rising to my scalp, but I clenched my fists and forced myself to stay calm.“Hospital?”I turned to Sebastian. He blinked, ready to explain, but Lucille jumped in again.“Oh, you don’t know? I thought you were Sebastian’s wife. Why does it seem like you have no idea what’s happening with his family?”I ground my teeth. That was it. I shot her a glare sharp enough to cut glass.“Why don’t you shut up and let me talk to my husband instead?”Lucille blinked, clearly stunned, her mouth parting in dis

“Eloise!”Lucy hurried to my side the moment Ophelia left. She grasped my arm and gently guided me back to the sofa.“Agnes! Get some water, quick!”I sat there in a daze, staring blankly into space. It still felt like I was in a nightmare. My life… they were trying to take it away from me again. Where on earth was I supposed to get that much money? I had some savings, but they would never reach one hundred million dollars.I exhaled heavily, my chest tight.Worst of all, there was nothing I could do—legally, I was still her child.“Here, Eloise. Have some water,” Lucy said softly.I looked at her. My hands trembled as I took the glass from her.“They’re so cruel, Lucy. I don’t even know what I did to deserve this. All I ever did was be kind to them, to acknowledge the debt of gratitude I owed for taking me in. But this… this is how they repay me?”Tears slipped down my cheeks, and I quickly wiped them away—more out of frustration than sadness.Lucy looked at me with deep sympathy. “E
