It all started...

× 5th Day Of The Month of Tishri ×

She was in a hurry. She needs to get there as fast as possible. Sighing for the umpteenth time, she increased her pace and at the same time, took a look at her wristwatch and that was when it all happened. She hit what she felt was like a wall and Oops! She realized it wasn't a wall when she fell, not on the floor but on the ‘wall’ with a hand on her waist which unknowingly sent tingles to her. She looked up and saw the most beautiful pair of eyes she had ever seen. Green eyes. Those eyes that could make a person forget who and what he was. Then her eyes moved to his well sculptured and pointed noise and then, his scent. He scented like her hair shampoo... She was still fantasizing when she she felt what smelt like coffee pouring all over her.

Gosh!

That was it, that was the last straw that broke the camel's back. That was when she snapped out of her fantasies and remembered who she was, Chelsea Wilson Strattens, Founder of Wilson's Café and waitress in the day, Nurse Wilson at night. And, she was being late for work. She was in trouble. Big trouble. She hurriedly stood up and kicked him, unleashing all her anger in the kick.

“No!”, he screamed but crazy Chelsea was hearing none of it.

She was late because of him, One kick.

Her dress was ruined because of him, she kicked him again, not hearing his pleas.

He had allegedly held her by her waist, what on earth was he trying to do? Abduct and r@pe her in broad daylight? Whatever he wanted to do, what was she red-black belt holder for? So, a third kick.

She didn't care watching him groan in his pain and misery.

“Pervert! Whatever you tried to do, you've failed! For your information, I'm a red-black belt holder, so you can try nothing with me! Nothing! Now get out! Out of my sight!", and with that, she gave him another kick he would never forget in his lifetime and scrambled out, leaving no room for him to say anything. She already had mercy on him by not ending him. She hurried to her shop and that was when she remembered something.

Wait!

She forgot something!

She immediately ran back to his side where he was still riling in pains and leaned in on him.

The beaten guy froze when he saw her, she wasn't there to hit him again and add to his pains, was she?

“One more thing, I was never here. Got it?!”, she yelled while smiling sweetly at the same time.

The guy didn't understand how someone, a female, could look that sweet and demonic at the same time. Still, he nodded slowly as if hypnotized by her smile.

He was still nodding when she leaned in on him and gave him a soft peck on his cheeks, making him feel flustered for a minute.

“Bye bye!”, she smiled and walked away, this time, hopping happily unlike when she sped away like an angry bear.

She was still basking in her unexpected happiness that she didn't notice what happened after she left.

~ After she left ~

A group of masked bodyguards, about six of them and six black cars drove by and stopped by her victim.

They immediately stepped down and among them was a Blondie who rushed to the miserable man in excitement.

“Tsk, tsk, Ian? Your martial arts strength has really gone down the drain. Beaten up? And by a girl? He he, Max would be so happy to hear this, but you're a disgrace to the Master.” , he teased Aiden.

The Blondie could have gone on and on if he wasn't sent a glare by Val.

“She's a red-black belt holder”, he replied and the tone of his voice was doting, as though he was proud of her.

Everyone was speechless.

Even the teasing Blondie who always knew what to retort was tongue tied this time.

Blondie: ‘Aren't you a black belt holder?! Well, forget it, when love comes knocking at the door, it's inevitable.’

He could only humbly reply, “You know, forget I asked.”

Aiden turned to his guards, “Will you help me up or keep staring?!”

“We apologize, Your Highness.”

And then, they all lifted him up with the exception of the Blondie who just took pictures, laughed his ass out, and threatened to send it to a 'Max' if he didn't comply to his wishes.

Aiden hissed in pain as they carried him as mildly as they could and ignored the talkative Blondie. He would deal with him and his threat later.

After getting him safely into the car but not with the Blondie (for they knew the Blondie would tease their Young Master to death if they were in the same car but much to the Blondie dismay), the guards outside entered into the other cars and drove off.

Aiden looked outside the car window, at the alley his red-black belt owner had walked into with an unexplainable feeling bubbling in his heart and there and then, with a smile on his face, he made a vow,

‘She would be mine, come rain, come sun shine.’

‘Wilson’s Café’, was boldly written in front of the shop Chelsea Strattens just stepped into in a hurry, she sighed as she shut the transparent door behind her and changed the Shop Tag from ‘Closed’ to ‘Open’. She knew she was in big trouble; she was late and her customers believed in punctuality. If she hadn't met that ‘bad luck rude guy’, all of these wouldn't have happened. And to think, that she pecked him. Just what was she thinking?

And his scent was already on her!

She subconsciously inhaled the scent and somehow, she felt giddy. She shook the feeling off and concentrated on her work. After all, she had given him a warning and he wouldn't dare to lay his hands on her unless he was courting death. She silently thanked Maxwell for his training and made to work.

Although she was the founder of the Cafe, she didn’t hire anyone because she loved the job so well but recently, well, she was beginning to regret her decision. A nurse in the night and a waitress at day was just not the best idea. She made a mental note to fix a vacancy post before she left for her shift.

She got ready and soon her customers began flocking in.

“Can I get two cups of Cappuccino and a cup of Coffee, no sugar please?”

“Sure. Do enjoy”

‘Trust them, she made the best coffee anyone in the neighborhood could ever think of.’

*07:45PM*

“Thank you and please enjoy the rest of your day.” she saw her last customer for the day off before changing the Tag to ‘Closed’ and hurriedly rushed to grab her bag before any ‘not-seeing-the-tag’ person would come in.

But that was meant to happen …

Chelsea groaned loudly when she heard the Cafe door open and she felt like hitting the person. Without looking up, she began to yell, “Can't you read the tag?! And before you say you didn't see it, We're closed! Closed for the day and I'm not offering any special services!”

“Not even me?”

Chelsea froze when she heard that voice. That voice she had grown to adore, to cherish, that voice which was a soothing balm to her no matter how she felt. She looked up from her hand mirror, still dazed and saw him.

“Max!”, she squealed excitedly as she ran and threw herself on him.

He steadily held her and chuckled at her childish but cute expression, “Easy, gal.”

“You promised you'd be early.” , she grumbled, still in his hold.

He smiled, although she could not see him, and said, “I know I promised. I'm sorry, but guess what?”

“What?”, she was not in the least interested in anything apart from his promise.

Max, as he was fondly called by her, was her one and only friend; her best friend she had known through childhood and he was the only one who she knew genuinely cared for her, apart from Uncle Li, Max's father but he was long gone, leaving the both of them. So, Maxwell treated her like his little sister and she, like the brother she never had.

“Uhm, Max? Won't you introduce us to your girl?”

“Oh Shut up!”, he glared at the person who just ruined the moment. It was his friend; Damon.

That was when Chelsea realized that he was not alone, she quickly broke from the hug. She felt embarrassed that her face grew scarlet.

Maxwell had an amused expression seeing her, “OK. Meet my buddies”, he paused, extending his hand to his friends for them to come forward. “Damon, and...”

“Hello”, she waved shyly at the Blondie while he winked at her.

She was always like that around males; always, but that was an exception to her Max.

“Aiden, ” he announced, with a grin that Chelsea couldn't help but notice. She turned to greet him as well but she froze when she caught sight of the person.

She didn't believe she'd see him that day, neither did she believe she'd see him ever again, but there he was...standing right in front of her

He seemed to have finally noticed her and his expression was as good as hers.

Shock. Disbelief. Anger

“What?!”

“You?!”
