Daisy

I woke up in the morning feeling refreshed. The last few hours have been embarrassingly hectic. Today is a new day and my chance to start afresh.

I hadn’t dropped that thought when my door flung opened and Hope hurried in.

“Good morning Dee! I hope you had a sweet night.” She exclaimed, and then dived right into the bed beside me.

“Morning Hope, yes I did. Thanks for having me, I’m really having a nice time here.” I replied while she blushed hard.

“And you’re about to have so much more.”

“Come with me!” She exclaimed as she got off and started pulling me out too.

“Wait! I haven’t even freshened up yet.” I let out but she wasn’t having it.

She dragged me over to the kitchen and, once again, I suddenly started to feel somehow when I saw him.

Tony was there in the kitchen making breakfast. He looked up and beamed with smiles once he saw us.

Hope ran over, and they shared a kiss which made my mouth water. I wasn't about to start embarrassing myself again, so I quickly shook off the thought and sat down.

“Daisy, good morning. How was your night? Wet?” Tony retorted while I instantly coughed.

“Oh my, sorry… I meant sweet? Was your night sweet?” he asked again.

He was obviously having fun teasing me, and I was damn well playing right into his hands.

“Yes, I did. Thanks for having me. Last night was so much fun, I can still remember how y…” he quickly cleared his throat loudly at that point and I stopped.

I had a smirk on my face that said ‘I see your tricks and I can play the game too’.

“It’s time for breakfast. Come help me set the table, Hope,” he said, facing her.

“You know what? Hold that thought. I need to share this sweet moment on my timeline. I, my dad, and my best friend. The two people that matter to me the most! Let me get my phone!” She exclaimed, and then dashed out of the kitchen.

We both looked in her direction till her steps faded up the stairs. I turned back and Tony was already serving my food.

“How do you like your sausage?” he asked while I leaned back, crossed my legs and stared straight in his eyes.

“Long, thick, maybe curved or not, but it has to come with the two balls.” I let out while he dropped the tray and had a wide grin.

“What the heck?” he exclaimed.

“Why are you pretending like last night was nothing? And don’t even think I didn’t catch on to how you felt last night. You were just as smitten as I was!” I added firmly while he burst into laughter.

I was so mad to my bones when he wouldn’t stop staring and laughing even more. He finally stopped and leaned forward. This time, I made sure to control myself and stop myself from falling into his trap again.

“You’re making it too obvious that you want me,” he simply said, and that immediately crushed my defense.

I found myself scoffing and stuttering. I couldn’t make a straight sentence anymore,

“What? That… that’s… a… lie! I don’t…”

“Want me? Really?” He finished the sentence and I nodded.

“I know of a girl. She met her crush years back at a club and fell in love with him instantly. She secretly followed him that night and saw him making out wildly with another girl. She ran away but, unknown to her, the man saw her. He saw the intense craving in her eyes. That girl is sitting in front of him now, and he can still see the craving. It’s still there and even more now.”

I watched with shock as the words flowed seamlessly out of his mouth. When he said the last part, I almost choked on my own tongue.

I never thought he saw me that night or that he would even remember four years later. I couldn’t do anything to defend myself though.

Hope was back in the kitchen, and I just had to pretend everything was okay.

It was so difficult though, he was sitting right in front of me, and it got awkward with each passing second.

I tried to rush my food, but that wasn’t easy too as my belly couldn't take the rush. Thankfully, he finished quite quickly and left for work. He kissed Hope and waved me goodbye, but I couldn’t even bring myself to look at him.

I was so disorganized and couldn’t think straight. Hope talked to me the whole time, and it just made things worse. I wanted to be the one talking and offloading my burdened heart. But how do I tell her that the mystery man I once told her about was her dad, and he’s now my worst distraction? She’d literally kill me.

I was still finding a way to escape her chatter when my phone rang. It was Perry, my boyfriend.

“Be right back, babe. I need to take this. It’s Perry!” I said, and then disappeared into my room.

“Hey baby…” I squirmed sweetly, but the silence that followed got me worried.

I went from being happy to being heartbroken. Perry wasn’t calling to check up on me. He was calling to break up with me.

“I’m so sorry, it’s not you. I want to explore more. I’ve told you, but it seems you’re not interested in my satisfaction. I wish you well, babe.” He said, and then hung up.

Perry and I met in college and started dating a year later. It’s been six months, and I’ve caught him cheating over five times. He apologized the first time, but after then, he got bolder each time I caught him until he finally asked for an open relationship. His reason was that he wanted to explore more and being exclusive wasn’t doing it for him. I refused and he dropped it. Or maybe I thought he did. Apparently, he didn’t and now it’s over.

I stared blankly at his face that still lit up my phone screen. I wasn’t head over heels in love with him, but I tried to do right by him. I sacrificed my time, money and body, only to get my heart broken.

I didn’t know when tears started rolling down my cheeks. Hope entered then, and I quickly tried to clean up, but she already caught me.

“Oh my goodness, Dee. Why are you crying? What happened?” She rushed over and pulled me into a hug.

I told her about the breakup and she just rolled her eyes.

“I can’t believe you’re crying over that fool, Dee. He’s a loser and a cheat, and that kind of man doesn’t deserve you.” She let out. I wasn’t surprised she said that, she never liked Perry and always gave him an attitude.

“You know what? I know just the right thing to help you get over this.” She chimed in, and my eyes lit up instantly.

“There’s a pool party this evening, and we are going to get you a man there. That’s the way you get over a man, you get under another man. My friend is coming too. I will introduce you to him. He’s handsome and so sweet, you’re so going to forget that fool once you see him.” She let out.

I knew that was a bad idea. I don’t need a new man, but what’s bad in trying? Besides, it’s a welcome distraction and I plan to use it to get over not just Perry, but Tony too.

“Okay then,” I chimed in slowly.

“Yes baby! Now dress up, we’re going shopping!” she exclaimed.

“Why?” I quizzed.

“Uhm… because a lot of girls will be there, and we have to look our best. We’re walking into that party, looking like the queens that we are and stealing all the attention for ourselves. Even the girls are going to drool!” I know Hope well enough not to argue with her.

When it comes to looking good and turning heads, she comes first. We are definitely getting more attention than we bargained for tonight.

I dressed up, and she drove me to a fashion store. That was my first time in such a high-end luxurious store. Everything in there was pure perfection.

We tried on so many dresses, and she made sure we got every piece that looked good. When we were done, we made our hair and nails, and staring in the mirror, I could no longer recognize myself.

I looked so gorgeous that I could eat my face off.

“You know what? There’s still time. Want to pay a surprise visit to my dad’s office?” she asked.

I know I should have said no, but I couldn’t. Not when I looked so good and drop-dead gorgeous. I wanted him to see what he was missing. I wanted him to crave me too. One thing I realized last night was that he wants me just as much as I do. His ego just wouldn’t let him admit it. But I would taunt that craving out of him, have him beg for a piece of me, and I would then leave him hanging. Just like he did last night and every other time since I got here.

“Yeap, I want to.” I replied and Hope was so happy.

We drove off, and I wasn’t expecting less luxury. Though it was more than I thought. Everyone welcomed us warmly, and I could tell it wasn’t just because Hope was the boss’ daughter. They genuinely like her.

“Hey daddy!” Hope exclaimed as she pushed open the huge door and we went in.

Tony looked so uncomfortable like he was going to explode. He couldn’t even say a straight sentence. He just kept tapping the table while forcing a smile.

“Heyyy… ladies!” he exclaimed while Hope and I shared a glance and I knew she was about to ask. But then, we heard a sudden movement under the table just before a lady stood up.

She quickly adjusted her dress, and had a satisfied smirk on her face as she cleaned her lips. I didn’t need to be told. I knew exactly what had happened there.

“See you later, handsome…” the lady winked at him and then walked out.

TonyIt’s been two days since I left the bar and that night, we spoke. I called when I was sure Kate would be back from work. We had a really long talk that by the time we finally called it a night, I was so tired and my mouth was even aching me. I didn’t know I had it in me to talk that long and much. I guess we never know what we are capable of until something triggers it out of us. I dropped my phone and just laid there on the bed. The two of them have been a way to distract myself from everything that had been happening. Everytime that Daisy pops up in my head, I just think about them and I’m able to get over the pain for that moment. I got thirsty and then went downstairs for water. I opened the door and Sophie was sitting there at the dinette.“Heyy,” she raised her head and said. She was on the phone scrolling through while enjoying pizza and juice.“I didn’t know you were in. I hope you’re not angry I’m here. I didn’t want to leave Hope all by herself, that’s why I stayed ba

Daisy“Baby,” I opened my eyes and saw my mom opening the door and approaching me. “Please I want to be alone, I just want to be alone for now.” I quickly said but unlike other times that she wouldn’t turn around and leave, she didn’t do that this time. She came straight to me and sat beside me on the bed. “No Daisy, you’ve had enough time for that now. It’s been two days and you’ve not only refused to leave the room, you’ve also refused to eat. I know you’re trying to punish your dad but how can you not see that you’re hurting yourself too?” She let out and I sat up and faced her.“Really? You really think that is what this is about? You think I’m trying to punish dad and make him change his mind? Wow, I must have overestimated how much I mean to you guys.” I let out and her face immediately turned sour.“That’s unfair. I know you are hurting but you don’t have to be like that.” She cautioned but I wasn’t moved a bit. “Yeah, you guys can just wake up one morning and make decision

  • Falling for my Billionaire Crush   Need to move on!

TonyDiane made breakfast and we ate, it was a simple meal but I enjoyed it so much. I just love their simple life. They seem really ambitious though and I like that about them too but they are not trying to force things. For now, they just want to work, live and let things happen naturally. Atleast, that’s what I’ve noticed about them in the short period of time I’ve known them.“So, I’ll see you later in the evening then?” Kate asked as we were ready to leave the house.I already know them enough to know she was fishing to know if I was leaving today or still staying. Well, I enjoy their company and it’s a welcome distraction but I don’t think it’s okay to stay back. I wouldn’t want to overstay my welcome.“Uhmm… no, I’ll be going back home today. My people are going to stay getting worried if I don’t.” I replied and she nodded her head.“Fair enough, so do we get to see you again?” She added and I smiled.“Of course, maybe one of this days, I’ll come around or if you don’t mind, I’

  • Falling for my Billionaire Crush   Walked into their trap…

TonyKate was so cheerful and there was no boring moment with her. We talked well into the night until Diane eventually asked that we go to bed because of the next day and so I could rest. I could tell Kate still had more to go in her but she agreed and reluctantly stood up.“Sweet dreams then,” she said.“And you too,” I chimed in and then watched them go into the room. I smiled and made myself comfortable on the couch. I brought out my phone and then switched it on. I turned it off since morning but I was just curious to know what was happening back home. I wanted to know if anyone even noticed I was gone. I scrolled through and through but not even a text message or a call. It was all like a quiet street. I know it’s all still fresh and hot but I don’t know, how could they not even know or reach out? Well, I’m just as guilty also anyway. Hope might not be at home too and also wondering why I’m silent on her. My mind went to Daisy and my heart sank again. I thought the alcohol w

Tony“So do you have any plan to leave or you are comfortable sleeping in here all alone?” She asked and I smiled. “Closing soon?” I asked.“No, closing now.” She affirmed.“Well, I could drive back home but there’s a lot of hurt there and I don’t want that. Know any good hotel around here?” I asked while she shook her head around a bit like she was doing some thinking.“I think I know one but it’s usually always booked so you probably won’t get a space by this time anymore. But if you don’t mind, my place is just down the street and you could stay the night.” She let out while I chuckled.I know I’m heartbroken and her company has done much to make me feel better, but then I’m not about to jump into another potential mistake. “Relax, I don’t have any ulterior motive and my cousin will be around too. We will stay in the room and you are welcome to use the living room. But you could say now and explore other options though.” She chimed in and there was something about the way she sai

  • Falling for my Billionaire Crush   Damn you, Daisy!

Hope I thought I would feel so satisfied after my dad broke up with Daisy but the reverse was the case. Maybe I felt good for a whole but it was only short lived. Once he walked away and we also got in the car, I felt this deep sensation inside me. It felt like something was missing but I couldn’t figure out what it was. I just sat there in the car like a plank while my mom drove us back home.“Are you okay? You seem like you have a lot going on in that small head of yours.” She finally broke the silence between us. “I’m okay, and yeah, I do have a lot on my plate. I just found out my dad has been having an affair with my best friend right under my nose and I never suspected a thing. So yeah, that’s a lot in my world.” I replied and she looked at me briefly before returning her gaze to the road. “Can we really call it an affair? It’s not like he was in any relationship or married so I think he’s free to be with anyone.” She replied and I scoffed. “Are you seriously supporting him
