Daisy

I woke up in the morning feeling refreshed. The last few hours have been embarrassingly hectic. Today is a new day and my chance to start afresh.

I hadn’t dropped that thought when my door flung opened and Hope hurried in.

“Good morning Dee! I hope you had a sweet night.” She exclaimed, and then dived right into the bed beside me.

“Morning Hope, yes I did. Thanks for having me, I’m really having a nice time here.” I replied while she blushed hard.

“And you’re about to have so much more.”

“Come with me!” She exclaimed as she got off and started pulling me out too.

“Wait! I haven’t even freshened up yet.” I let out but she wasn’t having it.

She dragged me over to the kitchen and, once again, I suddenly started to feel somehow when I saw him.

Tony was there in the kitchen making breakfast. He looked up and beamed with smiles once he saw us.

Hope ran over, and they shared a kiss which made my mouth water. I wasn't about to start embarrassing myself again, so I quickly shook off the thought and sat down.

“Daisy, good morning. How was your night? Wet?” Tony retorted while I instantly coughed.

“Oh my, sorry… I meant sweet? Was your night sweet?” he asked again.

He was obviously having fun teasing me, and I was damn well playing right into his hands.

“Yes, I did. Thanks for having me. Last night was so much fun, I can still remember how y…” he quickly cleared his throat loudly at that point and I stopped.

I had a smirk on my face that said ‘I see your tricks and I can play the game too’.

“It’s time for breakfast. Come help me set the table, Hope,” he said, facing her.

“You know what? Hold that thought. I need to share this sweet moment on my timeline. I, my dad, and my best friend. The two people that matter to me the most! Let me get my phone!” She exclaimed, and then dashed out of the kitchen.

We both looked in her direction till her steps faded up the stairs. I turned back and Tony was already serving my food.

“How do you like your sausage?” he asked while I leaned back, crossed my legs and stared straight in his eyes.

“Long, thick, maybe curved or not, but it has to come with the two balls.” I let out while he dropped the tray and had a wide grin.

“What the heck?” he exclaimed.

“Why are you pretending like last night was nothing? And don’t even think I didn’t catch on to how you felt last night. You were just as smitten as I was!” I added firmly while he burst into laughter.

I was so mad to my bones when he wouldn’t stop staring and laughing even more. He finally stopped and leaned forward. This time, I made sure to control myself and stop myself from falling into his trap again.

“You’re making it too obvious that you want me,” he simply said, and that immediately crushed my defense.

I found myself scoffing and stuttering. I couldn’t make a straight sentence anymore,

“What? That… that’s… a… lie! I don’t…”

“Want me? Really?” He finished the sentence and I nodded.

“I know of a girl. She met her crush years back at a club and fell in love with him instantly. She secretly followed him that night and saw him making out wildly with another girl. She ran away but, unknown to her, the man saw her. He saw the intense craving in her eyes. That girl is sitting in front of him now, and he can still see the craving. It’s still there and even more now.”

I watched with shock as the words flowed seamlessly out of his mouth. When he said the last part, I almost choked on my own tongue.

I never thought he saw me that night or that he would even remember four years later. I couldn’t do anything to defend myself though.

Hope was back in the kitchen, and I just had to pretend everything was okay.

It was so difficult though, he was sitting right in front of me, and it got awkward with each passing second.

I tried to rush my food, but that wasn’t easy too as my belly couldn't take the rush. Thankfully, he finished quite quickly and left for work. He kissed Hope and waved me goodbye, but I couldn’t even bring myself to look at him.

I was so disorganized and couldn’t think straight. Hope talked to me the whole time, and it just made things worse. I wanted to be the one talking and offloading my burdened heart. But how do I tell her that the mystery man I once told her about was her dad, and he’s now my worst distraction? She’d literally kill me.

I was still finding a way to escape her chatter when my phone rang. It was Perry, my boyfriend.

“Be right back, babe. I need to take this. It’s Perry!” I said, and then disappeared into my room.

“Hey baby…” I squirmed sweetly, but the silence that followed got me worried.

I went from being happy to being heartbroken. Perry wasn’t calling to check up on me. He was calling to break up with me.

“I’m so sorry, it’s not you. I want to explore more. I’ve told you, but it seems you’re not interested in my satisfaction. I wish you well, babe.” He said, and then hung up.

Perry and I met in college and started dating a year later. It’s been six months, and I’ve caught him cheating over five times. He apologized the first time, but after then, he got bolder each time I caught him until he finally asked for an open relationship. His reason was that he wanted to explore more and being exclusive wasn’t doing it for him. I refused and he dropped it. Or maybe I thought he did. Apparently, he didn’t and now it’s over.

I stared blankly at his face that still lit up my phone screen. I wasn’t head over heels in love with him, but I tried to do right by him. I sacrificed my time, money and body, only to get my heart broken.

I didn’t know when tears started rolling down my cheeks. Hope entered then, and I quickly tried to clean up, but she already caught me.

“Oh my goodness, Dee. Why are you crying? What happened?” She rushed over and pulled me into a hug.

I told her about the breakup and she just rolled her eyes.

“I can’t believe you’re crying over that fool, Dee. He’s a loser and a cheat, and that kind of man doesn’t deserve you.” She let out. I wasn’t surprised she said that, she never liked Perry and always gave him an attitude.

“You know what? I know just the right thing to help you get over this.” She chimed in, and my eyes lit up instantly.

“There’s a pool party this evening, and we are going to get you a man there. That’s the way you get over a man, you get under another man. My friend is coming too. I will introduce you to him. He’s handsome and so sweet, you’re so going to forget that fool once you see him.” She let out.

I knew that was a bad idea. I don’t need a new man, but what’s bad in trying? Besides, it’s a welcome distraction and I plan to use it to get over not just Perry, but Tony too.

“Okay then,” I chimed in slowly.

“Yes baby! Now dress up, we’re going shopping!” she exclaimed.

“Why?” I quizzed.

“Uhm… because a lot of girls will be there, and we have to look our best. We’re walking into that party, looking like the queens that we are and stealing all the attention for ourselves. Even the girls are going to drool!” I know Hope well enough not to argue with her.

When it comes to looking good and turning heads, she comes first. We are definitely getting more attention than we bargained for tonight.

I dressed up, and she drove me to a fashion store. That was my first time in such a high-end luxurious store. Everything in there was pure perfection.

We tried on so many dresses, and she made sure we got every piece that looked good. When we were done, we made our hair and nails, and staring in the mirror, I could no longer recognize myself.

I looked so gorgeous that I could eat my face off.

“You know what? There’s still time. Want to pay a surprise visit to my dad’s office?” she asked.

I know I should have said no, but I couldn’t. Not when I looked so good and drop-dead gorgeous. I wanted him to see what he was missing. I wanted him to crave me too. One thing I realized last night was that he wants me just as much as I do. His ego just wouldn’t let him admit it. But I would taunt that craving out of him, have him beg for a piece of me, and I would then leave him hanging. Just like he did last night and every other time since I got here.

“Yeap, I want to.” I replied and Hope was so happy.

We drove off, and I wasn’t expecting less luxury. Though it was more than I thought. Everyone welcomed us warmly, and I could tell it wasn’t just because Hope was the boss’ daughter. They genuinely like her.

“Hey daddy!” Hope exclaimed as she pushed open the huge door and we went in.

Tony looked so uncomfortable like he was going to explode. He couldn’t even say a straight sentence. He just kept tapping the table while forcing a smile.

“Heyyy… ladies!” he exclaimed while Hope and I shared a glance and I knew she was about to ask. But then, we heard a sudden movement under the table just before a lady stood up.

She quickly adjusted her dress, and had a satisfied smirk on her face as she cleaned her lips. I didn’t need to be told. I knew exactly what had happened there.

“See you later, handsome…” the lady winked at him and then walked out.

  • Falling for my Billionaire Crush   Whoever it is can wait…

DaisyI was in the living room, scrolling absentmindedly on my phone, when I heard the knock at the door. My heart gave that little skip it always does when I know who it is before even checking. I opened it and saw Liam standing there with a warm and confident smile on his face that instantly lifted my mood.He already told me yesterday that we’d be going on a date today and he’d be coming over to pick me up. About an hour ago, I started preparing and once I was done, I can’t into the living room to watch some tv before he arrives. I didn’t even pay attention to the show airing, I was busy with my phone talk through.“You look beautiful,” he said, his gaze sweeping over me in a way that wasn’t creepy but still made my stomach flutter. I had gone for something simple but cute. I wore a soft, pastel dress that skimmed my knees and the daintiest sandals I owned.“Thank you,” I let out slowly with a smile while he then handed me a sleek black bag with gold accents. “This is for you.” He

  • Falling for my Billionaire Crush   I can’t do this…

Hope The room was still dark when I opened my eyes and my first thought was that I’d slept through the night, that maybe the pills had done their job and knocked me out cold. I rolled over, reaching for my phone on the nightstand, already expecting to see early morning hours glowing on the screen as I turned it on. But then, it lit up and my brain couldn’t process the numbers.Ten minutes… I have been sleeping for only ten freaking minutes!I just stared at the screen, my heart thudding as it didn’t make any sense at all. My body felt heavy, my eyes were puffy and my mind worn thin. How is it possible that I’d been lying here for less time than it takes to watch an episode of some random sitcom? I threw the phone back onto the bed and sat up slowly, like maybe moving too fast would make the whole thing feel worse.I pressed my hands into my face, letting out a long, muffled groan. I had no idea what to do with myself. My thoughts kept circling like vultures no matter what I tried to

  • Falling for my Billionaire Crush   Guilt and panic

HopeI don’t even know how long I stood there in that shadowy corner of the backyard, my heart hammering so loud I was sure they’d hear it. I had been smiling to myself just minutes ago, thinking Ryan had gone to buy my favorite flowers. I was already planning the way I’d tease him for being sneaky and romantic at the same time. But then, there he was with her… She was was petite, pretty, wearing a loose cardigan and slippers. Her hair still damp like she’d just showered. She smiled so warmly at him it made my stomach twist. And Ryan… God, the way his facelit up.He handed her the bouquet, and she took it like it was the most precious thing in the world. Then she hugged him and it wasn’t the usual friendly hug, it was the kind where your whole body leans in, where your hands grip the other person like you’re afraid they might vanish. And then, they just… stood there, staring into each other’s eyes. Slow, deep, lingering like two people completely lost in their own bubble. That was it

  • Falling for my Billionaire Crush   He isn’t mine…

HopeI wasn’t ready for the day to end so I didn’t even bother answering when Ryan asked if we were leaving soon.“You seem in a hurry, if I was an overthinker, I’d think you’re trying to get away from me so fast.” I let out while he laughed so hard.“My goodness… I fucking love you Hope Grenier. My life would be so boring without you in it. I mean, how the heck did you come up with that in a second.” He let out and I just managed to laugh too. I was busy reading his expression. “Well, there’s that too anyway but that’s the vibe I’m getting from you but it’s okay.” I said and we then went on to talk about other things. But then, throughout the whole time, Ryan was clearly distracted. If he wasn’t busy on his phone, he’s busy trying to force a conversation or forcing a laugh so I don’t ask questions. I saw everything but I never asked him anything. When we were finally done having fun, we decided to call it a night. Ryan walked me to my car, his hand warm against the small of my back

  • Falling for my Billionaire Crush   Let’s be official…

HopeRyan and I pulled into the restaurant almost at the same time, which, honestly, felt like a movie moment. He stepped out of his car just as I did mine, that easy smile of his already in place. One look at his fine face and I was already smiling too. My God, he looked so good and that just made me more sure of why I was doing this.‘I love this man’ - I muttered under my breathe. “Well, look at that,” he said, meeting me halfway on the pavement. “Perfect timing. You stalking me now, my love?” He added while I laughed, leaning in for a light hug. “You wish.” I let out softly but the moment my cheek brushed his shoulder, something caught my attention. It was a soft floral scent and definitely not mine. My brows pulled together before I could stop them.I leaned back, inhaling just a little more on purpose. “Hmm. You smell… different.” I retorted while he blinked and then smirked. “Different bad or different good?” He quizzed while I searched his eyes but found nothing. “Differ

  • Falling for my Billionaire Crush   I’ll make him mine…

Hope“Hey, babes… good afternoon.” I said to Daisy over the phone.“Heyy my love, how are you?” She replied.“I’m good. I’m going on a date with Ryan so I’m getting ready. You know I have to give my best and remind him again how lucky he is to have me.” I chimed in while she burst into laughter and I just had to join too.“Of course, I trust you. So are you guys like a thing now,”“Not yet, but I’m asking him today.” I replied and I could imagine her sitting up immediately.“You’re asking Ryan out yourself?” She repeated and I nodded, knowing she couldn’t see me.“Yes babes. I’m asking him out this afternoon. He’s been asking for so long and I kept pushing. I’ve always felt the connection but I just wasn’t sure I was ready. I know I am now and I don’t want to lose him to another woman.” I let out.“Who are you and what have you done to me best friend?” Daisy squeaked over the phone and I just couldn’t help but laugh.“I know right, I can’t believe I’m doing this too.” I added and trul
