Daisy
“Babe, are you okay? You seem a bit off.” Hope asked as we walked out the front door.
“Yeah, of course, I’m okay. I’m just… excited I guess. You know, the party and all. I can’t wait to forget all about Perry.” I replied, forcing out a smile.
“That’s my girl, and you’re going to love it. I’m going to make sure of that.” She chimed in.
We hopped in the car and zoomed off. I was so glad Hope got on a call immediately. She would have tried talking to me and I wasn’t in the mood for that at all. I was so mad at Tony… no, he isn’t even at fault. I am the one making him feel so full of himself to the extent of treating me this way. And can I even blame myself? I get weak anytime I’m around him, one look at him and every bit of anger always vanishes. He has so much control over me and I hate myself for it. I have to find a way to get him out of my head and get back control.
“I really need to do something about this…”
“What did you say?” Hope suddenly quizzed while I turned to her. I had no idea I was thinking out loud.
“Huh… nothing.” I chimed in.
We were soon at home and we hurried inside. We were halfway prepared with the hair, nails and face care. All we had to do was makeup and get in our dresses. Or so I thought, until Hope pulled out her drawer full of makeup kits. She spent over three hours on just my face, stroking different brushes and rubbing different powders on my face.
At a point, I was confused but she wouldn’t stop. That was my first time doing a full glam makeup and I had no idea it took that much work or time.
“Now, you can look.” She finally said and then turned the chair around so I could look in the mirror.
“Oh my goodness…” I gasped as I stared at the person in front of me.
I looked totally different, it was still my face but an upgraded version. I looked so damn beautiful… too beautiful even.
“Gorgeous, right?” She asked while I remained mute. I just couldn’t find the right word to describe what I felt.
“You like it?”
“Like? Hope, I f*cking love it!” I finally found my voice.
“I’m glad you do. Now, go get into your dress while I fix my own face.” She said.
I got out of the chair and then went on to wear my dress. We both picked out a black sequin short dress and it fitted perfectly.
I gave myself a once-over and couldn’t stop drooling over how gorgeous I looked. My curves were sitting nicely in my dress and somehow, I was so eager to see the look on the boys when they see me.
God, I really wish Tony could see me right now, it would make his heart flutter and I would have even made it worse by ignoring him. You know, pretend like I don’t know he’s watching or that I see the effect my sexy body was having on him. That would have been such a badass revenge move. I just want him to feel what I feel when he teases me…
“Babe?? What are you doing in there? We are going to be late!” Hope suddenly called out while I then rushed out.
“My goodness… did I like spend hours in there? Girl, you’re all dressed up, and damn gorgeous too!” I exclaimed once I saw her fully dressed, face all beat up, and looking like my favorite ice cream flavor.
“I know right! I’m really fast when working on my face. Let’s go now before it’s too late. A lil bit late is just okay, we want the boys already there by the time we get there so they can drool while we walk in!” She let out loud.
I only giggled and then stood still while she bathed me in her cologne. We made for the door immediately while she kept smiling happily.
Hope drove and in a couple of minutes, we were there at the party. She pulled me along to the entrance where some girls in bikinis handed us shots. I looked at Hope and she signaled me to take it. I was still staring weirdly at it when Hope reached for the second shot and downed it like it was nothing.
“Babe, you need this so you can enjoy yourself tonight. It’s going to help clear your head and loosen your nerves. The theme tonight is unhinged, and remember why you’re here… to forget that stupid fool and get someone new… and maybe, even get laid…”
“Hope!” I exclaimed while she just giggled.
“What? I’m only trying to help here. You get over a man by getting under…”
“Uhn uhn… no one is getting under anyone tonight.” I cut in sharply while she rolled her eyes playfully.
“We’ll see about that then. Come, let’s get you in these boys faces.” She chimed in and they dragged me inside. I was still holding my shot, and sipping it like it was some juice.
The setting inside was really awesome, and the guys really had their eyes on us. I was a bit shy but not Hope. She wasn’t avoiding their stares like I was, she stared back and even winked at a few ones. We stopped at a counter and she hugged a guy there from behind, swinging him from side to side.
“Hope?” The guy said as he finally turned around to face us.
“How did you know?” Hope asked, smiling so hard
“Because you’re the only one with such soft touch and effect on me. Besides, your smell, it’s registered here.” He said, tapping his head slowly.
“I know right, custom made for the only Hope Grenier!” She replied, before crashing into his arms for a hug.
He finally looked in my direction then, and it felt like I saw something in those eyes… like he was mesmerized. He couldn’t even look away and I had to tear my eyes apart from his handsome face. I was starting to get nervous but I didn’t want him to see that.
When they finally released each other, he cleared his throat loudly, while nodding in my direction. Hope got the hint too and then smiled.
“Ohh yeah, pardon me please… Daisy, this is my friend, Jack, the one I told you about. And Jack, this is my best friend, Daisy.” Hope let out while I stretched out my hands to him but he pulled me into a warm embrace instead.
I wasn’t expecting that at all and on any other night, I would have pushed him away. But then, I just couldn’t do that. It was so warm and it felt like what I desperately needed. He smelled so nice too, and his chest, broad enough to contain me nicely. For a second there, I forgot myself and made myself too comfortable. I rested my head on his chest while he sniffed my head. That was when I came back to myself and pulled back.
“It’s nice to meet you, Daisy. You’re so… beautiful. I don’t think I’ve been exposed to such perfection in a long while.” He chimed in while I smiled, trying so hard not to blush but my face failed me. Not only was I grinning from ear to ear, my cheeks were burning pink.
“Ohh really? That’s how you’re going to play this? I’m not perfect enough for you?” Hope jealousy cut in. Of course, she was only being playful and it was funny so we just laughed it off.
“You know that’s not what I mean, Queen.” He replied.
“I know right, you know what? I’m just going to leave you two alone and then go find myself a man too.” Hope chimed in.
The two hugged again and she left, not before winking at me though, and mouthing some words to me that I couldn’t even hear. I knew they were dirty though.
“So, Daisy, it’s nice to meet you again.” Jack finally pulled my attention back.
“Yeah, right. It’s nice to meet you too, I’ve heard so many things about you.” I replied while he then stopped and stared in my eyes.
“Ohh really? Good things I hope?”
“Do you have bad sides of things to you?” I asked too.
“Hmmmn… I love the energy!” He retorted while I just smiled.
“Going to take that?” He asked and that was when I remembered I still had the shot with me.
I was about gulping it when my phone beeped. I swiped up and it was a text from Hope.
“Don’t hold back baby, a quickie will def relax your nerves!” The next two lines were laughing emojis and I didn’t know when I laughed too.
“What’s funny?” He asked suddenly while I looked up. I had no idea he had gotten that close and by the time I knew, my lips were already on his!!!
TonyThe moment I got the call from Don, I stopped everything I was doing, grabbed my car keys and things, and then made for the door.I ignored all the glaring eyes and just walked out. I may have a huge scandal going on but at the end of the day, I’m still their boss and anyone not okay with that can hand in their resignation letter. Ever since I got to the office in the morning, they all judged me and I didn’t need a soothsayer to tell me that they’d been gossiping behind my back. Well, there was nothing they could do other than judge me with their eyes. They couldn’t even do that well because they had to pretend they knew nothing and smile brightly at me. On my way out too, it was the same way. They smiled so brightly I was so sure it ached, and even stood up to acknowledge my presence. I didn’t do more than look at them and just left. I needed them to be under some pressure too.I hopped into my car and then zoomed off while putting a call through to Daisy.I haven’t called her
TonyIt felt as if I woke up on the right side of the bed this morning because I was full of energy right from the second I opened my eyes. Or maybe it was the first image that came to my mind. It was that of Daisy and that was exactly the confiedent booster I needed. I had a lot of work to get to at the office so I freshen up real quick and then made my way downstairs. I made a quick breakfast and was at the table keeping things fast when I sounded heard a car pulled into the driveway in a rough way. That was quite strange since we weren’t only expecting someone but even our guests never drive like that. I dropped my cup and was going to check it out but I hadn’t even gotten to the door when it flung open and Jack rushed in.“How dare you, Tony!” He yelled at me angrily, throwing me into a fit of confusion.“What are you talking about right now? And what has even come over you?” I replied while he moved closer to me.He was fuming with hot anger and I didn’t want any mistakes so I
DaisyI thought the tears were going to stop after the call with Tony but the opposite was the case. I mean, I finally got what I wanted so why was I still crying. It took another second to realize I was actually crying because of the call I eavesdropped on. I couldn’t get past the fact that he was with another woman. I know he said to trust me and that it wasn’t what I was thinking, but I did hear clearly. He was with a woman and moaning that hard. They clearly were in the middle of something. But then, I can’t keep wallowing in that when he’s ready to step up and do my wish. It was at that moment that a smile finally crossed my lips and I stopped crying. I wiped my face dry and then stood up.I remembered his words again and I started smiling even harder till I was full blown laughing. “Yes yes yess!!!” I screamed so loud as I ran around the room in excitement. I kept at this for another hour till I was tired and had no more energy in me. I then went out of the room, into the k
TonyI didn’t even know I had been standing that long until my legs started to ache and threatened to give out. I was just in shock and couldn’t believe what had just happened. It’s like I forget how to think whenever it involves Raine, I wouldn’t have created this empire if I was always that clueless with everything. The good thing is she’s gone now and I hope it’s for hope. I don’t even hope, I know it’s going to be for good. She’s never coming back in here or my life or family. I was still making the threats in my head when my phone beeped. I looked around the table but I couldn’t find it there. That was strange because I was just using it before Raine came in and I always drop it on the desk. I looked around and still couldn’t find it but luckily it beeped again. It rang long enough for me to follow the sound and I found it on the chair beside the one Raine was sitting on.I grabbed it and finally, it was Daisy calling. I was so excited to see her name and I almost jumped for
TonyAs I sat in the office trying to work on a file, my mind kept wandering around with thoughts of Daisy. It’s been a week of total silence from her. She wouldn’t pick my calls or return them and I’ve sent her a dozen text messages but she never replied them. It’s been so hard to stay away from her but I think the only thing helping me to hang on is the the fact that she hasn’t blocked me. At least, I know she still has me in her mind somewhere in there. She’s just mad at me at the moment and I hope she comes around soon and sees things from my perspective. If only she can even see Jack now, he’s always so giddy and happy around the office. He’s happily waiting for the love of his life to be his finally not knowing that would never happen. Imagine us coming out in such situation, won’t he kill us literally.A smile escaped through my cheeks at the thought of this and that gave me much relief. I haven’t smiled in days and maybe that was progress.I went back to the computer screen
DaisyIt’s been a week since Tony and I had that difficult conversation, and I’ve been true to my words. I haven’t talked to him since then. He has tried calling several times with countless text messages too but I only read and never reply any of them. I should have blocked him since I didn’t want to talk to him but I intentionally did not. I know it would hurt more seeing his calls ignored and messages unattended too. Blocking hik would only mean that I’m pained too and though I am, I’m not going to give him the satisfaction. “Heyy sweetheart…” my mom’s voice suddenly sounded from the door.“Come help me with the baking in the kitchen,” she added while I rolled my eyes tiredly. I wasn’t in the mood for that but maybe a distraction from my usual thoughts was what I needed.“Okay mommy, I’ll be with you in a minute.” I chimed in.I took another ten minutes before I finally went to join her as she was even almost done.“Mom, you’re already done with it, why did you ask me to come hel
