“Her parents knew I never wanted her as a wife. Isa knows herself. She knows that I have always wanted her sister and not her.
We just had an agreement.”
“What kind of agreement?” Raymond asked a bit perplexed.
“She got married to me to save her brother's life and take my company's name to the top.”
Douglas smacked his lips at his last words and shot a glance at his wrist watch.
“I think I will get going now. I need to catch up on something.” He said and turned to leave. Just then, Doctor Miles walked out from the theater wearing a tiresome look.
He reached out his hands and shook the two men, “Congratulations! She will be fine.”
At the end of Doctor Miles’s words was a long, gloomy look.
“Is it alright, if we go in and see her?”
“I am sorry…I don't think she would recognize any of you.” Doctor Miles dropped what sounded like a bombshell.
Douglas didn't seem concerned but he needed to listen to know his next plans.
“What do you mean, Doctor Miles? Are you trying to say that she lost her memory during the accident?” Raymond asked, nerve-wrecked.
“The brain injuries she sustained during the accident were deep. We tried to stitch them in good order but I fear it would do something to her memory.”
Doctor Miles sighed, never been heart-wrecked in a patient's case more than this.
“She will wake up soon. Let's wait for a day, two or three, hopefully.” Doctor Miles sighed and trotted off.
A deafening silence drifted into the space between Douglas and Raymond. Douglas turned around to leave. He wanted to get home before Evelyn woke up and didn't find him.
“Since I have nothing more to do here, I will get going.”
Raymond bit his lips at his words.
“How could you be so Cruel to your own wife? All this happened because of your Goddamn ass floricking around with your wife's sister.” He slammed with his fists clenched.
“Don't call it floricking because we are getting married soon.” Douglas said, curving up his lips into a smirk.
Raymond raised a brow. Like, huh?
“At least, wait till she recovers.” Raymond swallows a lump at the end of his words.
Douglas burst into a fit of laughter. Raymond asking him to wait for Isa to recover felt like he would be waiting forever.
What exactly does he mean by wait? Wait for Isa here till she wakes up in what might seem like a day, two or three or wait for Isa to recover before making wedding plans with Evelyn?
“You know what? You can have her. I am quite sure you will get tired and send her away.”
“Last girl you dated was the president's daughter. And last time I checked, Isa is not your kind of girl.”
“Even though we are both fighting over Walter Enterprises, I will advise you not to go for that bunch of bad luck.” Douglas hissed irritably and disappeared out of Raymond's sight.
He drove to his quarters and met Evelyn wearing a sad look. He advanced towards her, sighing regrettably.
“I am sorry, Babe.” He said, patting her shoulders.
“I could have stayed by your side till you woke up but I went to the hospital.”
“Hospital?” Evelyn asked angrily and jerked her body away from his reach.
“The documents earlier on the entrance was her. She witnessed us having s*x and ran into a speeding car on her way out.”
“The accident was really fatal. The Doctor said she might lose her memory.” His words didn't sound despondent.
Silence reigned for a moment. Evelyn was searching for the right words.
Finally, “Wouldn't it be better if she lost her memory. I mean, it would be great if she can't remember any of us or what she witnessed before the accident.”
Douglas eyes widened in amazement.
“You are such a genius. I never thought losing her memory would be a free coupon on our side.” He added with a smirk.
He waved his head abruptly, jolted back by something.
“I don't think it will be a free coupon for us. Who will run the company in her absence? There are so many pages unturned, who will play her role?” He asked, a storm of worry swept past his face.
“I will take over, sweetheart. Have you forgotten that my Dad runs a company? I will ask for his directions. Moreover, we already have the signed contract Documents with us.”
On the bed they laid, Evelyn slowly crawled up to his body. He raised his brows satisfactorily at her.
“I am so impressed. How could I get my ass worried when I have a princess before me.” He responded with a grunt as she pressed hard on his belt.
Another grunt escaped through his lips as she sat on his groin. He pushed backwards until he hit the headboard.
“I am so happy, sweetheart. Everything is falling in as we planned.”
Evelyn whispered, steading her hungry gaze at his abs, though he was still putting on his shirt. She pursed her lips, as if asking for permission to take it off.
Showing off her wry smile with hips swaying underneath, she started undoing his buttons.
“Babe c'mon, we have done this multiple times today.” Douglas said, breathless as she ran her fingers over his chest.
“I can't get enough of you, sweetheart. I like the way you hit me hard.”
Evelyn licked her lips after biting it hard.
He couldn't wait till the end of her words and grabbed her shoulder. He pinned her down to the bed and looked into her face.
Her fingers were still running across his sweaty chest.
He slammed his lips over hers and absent-mindedly undressed her.
The room became hot from moans and grunts.
“Promise you are going to give her a divorce once she is back from the hospital.” Evelyn cried as he forcefully pulled his hard dick inside her.
“And the good news is that she lost her memory. You will introduce me as your sister so that my regular visits won't look suspicious.”
“Ahhh…” She moaned, clutching her arms tightly around him.
“Yeah, princess. I will do everything you say.” Douglas finally grunts and drops low on the bed, beside her.
After narrating everything to Mrs Rhoda Bennett, she was astounded. How? This was exactly the same reason why she went as far as killing him.Unknown to her, he had already written his will where he willed all his properties to Isabella as it dawned on him that she was pretending all along. He called his lawyer who stood as a witness and directed him on where to sign. It was when she started seeing the lawyer around the house that she figured out that he was up to something. She confronted the lawyer who told her that he was about to give all his properties to Isabella who was his identical daughter. She was shocked as to how he found out that he wasn't the biological father of Evelyn. One fateful day, he bribed the lawyer to produce a document containing all of Mr Bennett's properties. When he asked why, she just chuckled like a witch.“You don't have to worry about how he is going to sign on it. Just do your part and leave the rest for me.” She had assured the lawyer who appeared c
After scanning his eyes through the contents in the file, he read audibly for everyone to hear it.“I hope you would still want to get a lawyer involved in this case?” He asked Mrs Rhoda Bennett with a smirk. The impression on her face changed all of a sudden. She became speechless as she got a stunning gaze from Douglas.“Please, don't sentence me to death. I promise to turn myself in.” She cried with a loud whimper but the inspector laughed.“I earlier gave you the chance to turn yourself in but you refused to. I will see you in court during the judgment.” He replied and called in some officers who dragged her out after locking her wrists with handcuffs. She took them to the area where she had disposed of the foxglove plants and showed them the pills she used to get him blind.Douglas was shocked. “So your Mom killed her husband? But why?” He shrieked, miserably.Evelyn kept mute, trying so hard not to look into his face.At this point, he was all she had. If her Mom is found guilt
Douglas and Evelyn rushed to the station once they got the information that their Moms were arrested and being interviewed.By the time the both of them arrived at the station, Mrs Jereni has been locked behind bars and a date has been fixed for court proceedings while Mrs Rhoda Bennett was still kept inside the interview room. She was still claiming innocence and denying her relationship with Mrs Jereni. At a point, the inspector became sick and tired of interrogating her since she wasn't reciprocating to his questions sincerely. The interview room has the same structure of a cell but the difference was clear. A normal metal door, two chairs opposite each other and a desk in the middle. The inspector was sitting opposite Mrs Rhoda Bennett, staring into her face. At the same time, a series of thoughts ran through his mind. This was exactly the same position they both sat a few years ago when they were running an investigation concerning her dead husband. He shot a gaze of hatred at he
“I can't really tell.” Raymond shrugged and climbed inside the van.The inspector stared into space for some minutes as he pondered on the next steps to take.He collected the huge man's cell phone and began to scroll through the call logs. The last call on his phone's call log was the call he made with the person whom Raymond had said was a woman. The number was bare and saved without a name.As he scrolled further, he figured out that the woman had been steadily getting in touch with the huge man.For some seconds, a sigh of relief escaped through his lips. It looked like he had hit the dead end. He just feels like he has gotten everything he needed to catch the main culprit.Suddenly, he paused as another number popped out. It was beyond his expectation as the number was saved with “Mrs Rhoda Bennett's name.He was shocked as to how Mrs Rhoda Bennett was connected to these men.“This is getting really interesting.” He mumbled and shot a quick glance at Raymond, followed by a nod.A
Raymond shot a glance at the taxi's speedometer. It was at its highest but the car wasn't running as fast as he had expected. He urged the driver to drive faster as he could sense danger from afar. Not too far away. The nearer the black Honda came, the deeper he could feel the danger.Suddenly, the black honda pulled itself into the same level with the taxi. He saw four men putting on black masks. They were unrecognizable except from the tiny holes around their eyes which permitted them to see through and the tiny hole below their nostrils which allowed the passage of air.At this point, Raymond knew that he was in very big trouble. He could see a long pistol hanging across each man's chest and he saw a burning rage flaming in each of their eyeballs. He thought of nothing else but Isabella. How she was doing, what she might be doing at the moment or what could be going on through her thoughts. He recalled how she pleaded with him not to leave and how she told him it was dangerous outs
Isabella muttered one last prayer before she shifted the laptop to herself to input the password.Sure, she wouldn't let him see the password because she couldn't trust anybody. She added more energy to hasten whatsoever she was doing. She wasn't sure who the suspect was.It could be the chairman but she hoped it shouldn't be him.On her first try, she unlocked the company's shares. She threw a galbce at the chairman who widened his eyes in shock.“How did you manage to know this?” The chairman suddenly asked in amazement.Isa just made a smirk.“Chairman, you forget things so easily. You must have forgotten that I was the same person that built this company to the top ten. Who do you think created the password to the company's shares?” She asked, making another cold smirk. The chairman took a deep breath and laughed. He couldn't possibly believe what she just said.“How is that possible. I thought Douglas was a smart man. Why didn't he change the password to the company's shares, kno
