Elise's pov

I pushed through the crowd, stumbling towards the restroom. Thankfully Sebastian didn't call out my name again, the last thing I needed was more eyes on me and maybe a confrontation with him.

I just wanted peace.

My shoulders bumped into someone and thankfully they caught me before I could fall face first into the floor. Mumbling a quick “Sorry.” I tried to walk away but they held me.

Looking up, the face of the person was somewhat familiar. Mrs Haywood, her husband was a business partner of Marcus.

“Oh dear, are you okay?” She asked, voice filled with concern.

All I could do was shakily nod because I didn't trust myself to speak without bursting into tears.

“You don't look so go—”

“The restroom.” I said, hastily cutting her off. What I needed right now was a place to cry in peace and not someone comforting me.

“Please, allow me hel—”

“The restroom.” I repeated. “Please…”

She gave a pitiful look then released me. “Down the hall, to the right.”

With a barely audible “thank

Elise's pov The zipper lowered slowly. Cool air hit my skin as the fabric parted. Sebastian eased the dress off my shoulders and let it pool at my feet. I stood there in just the lingerie he had chosen, feeling exposed and powerful at the same time."Bellissima," he breathed. "Open your eyes."He pulled off the blindfold.I did, and found him staring at me like I was the only thing in the world that mattered. His eyes traced over every inch of exposed skin, darkening with want."You have no idea how beautiful you are," he said. "How much control you have over me just by existing.""That doesn't feel like I have control.""That's because you're not paying attention." He stepped closer, his hands settling on my hips. "Every time you breathe, I stop breathing. Every time you move, I can't think straight. You undo me, Elise. Completely."His words did something to me that made my knees weak and my resolve weaker. I wanted more. No.I wanted everything.Sebastian must have seen it in my

  • Falling for the CEO'S brother    CHAPTER THIRTY

Elise's povThe car ride was quiet but not uncomfortable. Sebastian kept one hand on the wheel and the other resting on my thigh, his thumb tracing lazy circles that made it hard to concentrate on anything else. I kept stealing glances at him, trying to figure out what he had planned."You're staring," he said without looking away from the road."I'm trying to guess where we're going.""Any theories?""Based on the lingerie you made me wear, somewhere private."His lips curved into that dangerous smile. "Smart girl."We pulled up to Club Viper and my stomach did a nervous flip. I had been here before but something about tonight felt different. It felt intentional and serious.Sebastian handed his keys to the valet and came around to open my door. His hand found the small of my back as he guided me inside, past the main entrance where the regular crowd gathered, down a hallway I hadn't noticed before."Where are we going?" I asked."Somewhere we can talk without interruption."He stopp

  • Falling for the CEO'S brother    CHAPTER TWENTY NINE

Sebastian's povI had been watching the security monitors when the package arrived at my building three days ago. The delivery driver wore a plain uniform, kept his head down, and disappeared the moment he handed it to my doorman. That showed that he was smart, professional and an expensive messager who got away without being identified. The kind of delivery that meant trouble.Leonardo brought it up to my office at Club Viper with a grim expression. He knew better than to open packages that arrived without proper clearance, especially ones addressed to me with no return address."Want me to scan it first?" he asked."No. Just leave it."He set the box on my desk and stepped back, hand resting casually near his concealed weapon. Always prepared. That was why I trusted him with my life.I waited until he left before opening it. The brown paper tore easily under my hands and I lifted the lid off the plain cardboard box inside.Photographs. At least two dozen of them at least, spread out

  • Falling for the CEO'S brother    CHAPTER TWENTY EIGHT

Elise's povI stared at the photograph for what felt like hours but was probably only minutes. My mind raced with questions, each one more painful than the last.Who was she? When was this taken? Did Sebastian love her? Did he use her like Victoria claimed? My phone buzzed and I nearly dropped the picture. Sebastian's name flashed on the screen. For a moment I considered not answering, but my finger moved on its own and swiped to accept."Hey princess," his voice came through sounding warm and rough. "How's your day going?"I looked down at the photograph again. Ask him everything, the note said. But the words stuck in my throat. I couldn't do this over the phone. I needed to see his face when I asked about her."It's been interesting," I said finally."Interesting good or interesting bad?""Victoria joined the board of directors."There was a pause on his end. "What?""Her father bought a huge stake in Grey Tech. She's officially part of the company now."Sebastian muttered something

  • Falling for the CEO'S brother    CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN

Elise's povI barely made it back to my office before my phone started buzzing with notifications. Email after email flooded my inbox, all with the same subject line: Grey Tech Board Announcement.I opened the first one with shaking hands. It was true. Victoria's father's investment firm had purchased a thirty percent stake in Grey Tech, and as part of the deal, Victoria herself would be joining the board of directors effective immediately. The email went on about her "extensive business background" and how excited they were to have her "fresh perspective."I wanted to throw my phone across the room.A knock on my glass door made me look up. Marcus stood there, and even through my anger I could see the exhaustion etched into his face. I waved him in because refusing would only make things worse."You knew about this," I said before he could speak."My father made the deal. I only found out this morning." He closed the door behind him and moved to sit in the chair across from my desk.

  • Falling for the CEO'S brother    CHAPTER TWENTY SIX

Elise's povI kept my head down as I walked around the company the rest of the day but their whispers kept rolling me everywhere."That's her.""Can you believe she actually showed up?""I heard she tried to claw Victoria's face off."My jaw clenched. I wanted to scream at them that it was all a lie, that Victoria had set me up, but what good would that do? They had already made up their minds about who I was. The crazy girl who attacked the sweet, innocent fiancée.I pressed the elevator button harder than necessary and waited. I had gone down to grab some files since suddenly the landline was bad to the lower staff couldn’t pick up and bring the file up. The crowd around me shifted uncomfortably, creating a wide circle as if whatever madness they thought I had might be contagious. The elevator dinged and I stepped inside, grateful for the momentary solitude. But then a hand shot out to stop the doors from closing.Marcus.Of course. He hadn't left me alone all day and just when I t
