Luke stood frozen, staring at his mother in complete shock. The look on his face said it all. He couldn’t believe what had just happened. His grip on my wrists slowly loosened until he finally let go. With a tight jaw, he shoved his hands into his pockets.

Taking advantage of his silence, Mrs. Paul calmly pressed the controls on her wheelchair and rolled us farther into the huge mansion. The maids and security guards quietly followed behind us.

I turned back to face my mother, my body freezing. My hand rested on the door handle. The moment she mentioned Daniel’s name, a sharp wave of irritation ran through me.“Mom… why are you asking about Daniel all of a sudden?” I asked, my voice low and tense as I struggled to keep my anger under control.“Daniel worked for your father and me faithfully for twelve years!” my mother shouted, her voice filled with anger. Tears shone in her eyes as she looked at me. “Then, all of a sudden, he disappeared without a trace. Do you expect me to sit here in this wheelchair and not ask questions, Luke?”I let out a slow sigh and forced myself to calm down. In an instant, I became the sweet, caring son again. I walked back to her bed, knelt beside her, and gently held her trembling hands in mine.“Oh, come on, Mom,” I said softly, trying to calm her down. “You need to stop worrying about Daniel. It’s not good for your health. I already told you, I had nothing to do with his disappearance. My secur

~ Luke ~The moment one of the maids told me my mother had a panic attack in the dining room, anger burned inside me.My mother was the only person who truly mattered to me. She was my favorite person. I hated it whenever she went against me, especially in front of the servants. She was supposed to be on my side no matter what. She was supposed to stay quiet and let me handle everything without interfering.I pushed open the door to her bedroom and walked inside. Leah was sitting beside my mother on the bed, holding her hands. Their heads were close together as if they had been having a serious conversation. The moment I opened the door, they both looked at me. The surprise on their faces told me everything. They had been talking about me behind my back.Anger rushed through me. Seeing them sitting so close together made my hands tighten inside my pockets. I hated sharing my toys.My mother was my favorite person. I had always protected her and kept her close.Leah was different. I ha

I held my burning cheek, tears filling my eyes. It felt like my skin was on fire. I slowly looked up at the head of the table. Luke stood over me, his chest rising and falling with anger. “You’ll eat whatever they serve you,” Luke growled. “Or do you really think this is some charity home where you can make demands?”“Luke, stop it!” Mrs. Paul shouted from across the table, her voice shaking with anger. “How could you slap her? Right in front of me!”Luke didn’t even look at her. His cold, furious eyes stayed locked on me as he pointed a warning finger at his mother.“Mom, please stay out of this,” he said through gritted teeth. “She’s my wife, and I’ll treat her however I want.”Then he turned to the trembling maid beside my chair.“Serve her the pasta with the garlic sauce,” he ordered. His icy gaze returned to me. “And you’re going to eat every single bite.”Luke sat back down and adjusted his cuffs as if nothing had happened. The maid’s hands shook as she picked up the serving sp

The maids and security guards quietly followed behind us.“When I heard you were coming, I told the kitchen to prepare something special just for you,” Mrs. Paul said gently.I looked down at her, and a wave of relief filled my chest. Holding onto her shoulders, I leaned forward and rested my head against her neck. “I can’t wait to taste it,” I whispered, a small smile slowly returning to my face. I let out a long, tired sigh as the exhaustion finally caught up with me. “I’m really starving,” I admitted. “I haven’t had a proper meal in days.”Mrs. Paul gently squeezed my hands. “You’ll never have to

The car finally came to a stop in front of a huge mansion. Tall iron gates surrounded the property, making it look more like a prison than a home. Across the center of the gates, in black metal letters, were the words:Paul’s Castle. This was it, the main Paul family mansion. The car doors opened, and Luke’s security guards took my suitcase from the trunk. Without saying a word, they carried it up the wide stone steps and into the house.I slowly got out of the car, my heart pounding as I walked toward the large front doors. But the moment I stepped inside, the fear that had been crushing me suddenly disappeared.Standing in the middle of the grand foyer was Luke’s mother, Mrs. Paul. She sat in a modern wheelchair, with several maids standing quietly behind her.The moment she saw me, her face lit up with a warm smile. She slowly opened her arms, welcoming me with a kindness I hadn’t seen in a long time.In that single moment, all the fear, anger, and pain I had been carrying because

My mother’s fingers tightened around Adam’s shirt as she yanked him farther away from me. Her chest rose and fell quickly, and her face was filled with fear and anger.“Adam! I asked you a question!” she screamed, her voice ringing through the hallway. “Where did you hear those words?!”Adam didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he looked nervously at his nanny, who stood nearby, trembling. Then he looked at me before finally turning back to our mother. That one look was enough. He didn’t have to say anything. It was obvious he had heard the truth from the only person who paid attention to what was happening in this house.Mom’s eyes narrowed as she followed Adam’s gaze. She turned sharply and glared at the nanny.“So you’ve been sneaking behind my back and filling my son’s head with all this nonsense?” she shouted.“I’m sorry, ma’am! I-I didn’t mean to tell him! I’m so sorry!”Rose fell to her knees on the floor, tears streaming down her face. She pressed her hands together as her whol
