“Mom…”

The word came from my dry lips like a quiet prayer. It was so soft that no one could hear it.

I stood frozen, staring at the woman only a few steps away. My mind raced as I tried to understand what I was seeing. This had to be a dream. Maybe the poison in my body was making me see things.

But I knew that face. Her dark eyebrows, deep blue eyes, and familiar nose were all the same.

She looked older and more tired, but she was the same woman from the old photo I had kept with me for years.

  • Falling in love with a supernatural being    CHAPTER 131

“Please… stay away from me,” Bella whispered fearfully, stepping back as if touching me would hurt her.I froze in the middle of the room, staring at her in shock and pain. Why was she acting this way? Was she angry that I had been brought back here? Did she blame me for losing her fingers and for all the terrible things she had suffered?“Bella… what’s wrong with you? Are you angry with me?” I asked, my voice breaking as tears filled my eyes.Bella didn’t answer. Her face remained cold and empty. She turned away from me and walked toward the racks of clothes. Then she picked up a wedding dress covered in shiny beads.“Actually, Bella, I have some wonderful news for you… Mrs. Sandra is—”Before I could finish speaking, Bella suddenly rushed toward me. She threw the wedding dress at me with all her strength. The thick fabric and beads hit my chest, covering me and knocking me off my feet.We both fell hard onto the rug, landing in a heap of white lace. Before I could even catch my brea

Luke stood in the middle of the bedroom when a second loud knock came from the door.He cleared his throat and forced his face back into a calm expression.“Who is it? Come in,” he ordered. The lock clicked, and the door slowly opened. The moment I saw the person who walked in, I froze in shock. I could hardly believe my eyes. She was the last person I had ever expected to see again.Bella walked into the room with her head lowered, clearly afraid to look Luke in the eyes.I quickly sat up on the edge of the bed, my heart filled with shock and sudden joy.Bella is alive!“You’re finally here,” Luke said coldly. “You already know what to do, and you had better not fail me this time. If you mess this up, you won’t just lose a few fingers. I’ll bury you alive!”His words made me look down at Bella’s hands. She was holding a pile of bedsheets tightly. My stomach twisted, and I quickly covered my mouth with both hands in horror.Three fingers on Bella’s right hand were missing. They had be

  • Falling in love with a supernatural being    CHAPTER 129

The door of the car opened, and Luke grabbed my arm and pulled me out roughly. He dragged me across the paved yard of the Paul family mansion without showing any care for my feelings. This was the man who was supposed to become my husband in less than twenty-four hours.Night had already fallen, and I had less than one night to prepare for a wedding I never wanted. Yet this was how he treated me—with cruelty, violence, and no respect at all. Was this what my parents expected me to endure for the rest of my life?I had always dreamt of a simple, beautiful life with someone who would love me deeply, care for me, respect me, protect me, and hold my hand through every challenge. I had never imagined that I would end up trapped in a nightmare, forced to marry a cruel monster, and left to suffer in silence for the rest of my life. It felt as if the world had taken every dream I ever had and given me the exact opposite. And I was only twenty years old. I had never hurt anyone, never asked fo

  • Falling in love with a supernatural being    CHAPTER 128

The sudden slam of the door broke the moment between us.Startled by the noise, Leah quickly pulled away from me. Her eyes widened in fear as she took two quick steps back from where I was chained.Luke Paul walked into the cell with an angry look on his face. He didn’t even look at me. His cold eyes went straight to Leah.“Your five minutes are over, Leah!” Luke snapped. Before she could say anything, Luke grabbed her wrist and pulled her arm back roughly. With his other hand, he picked up the signed marriage agreement and the pen from the rusty stool.“It’s time to go!” Luke shouted, pulling her toward the open door. Leah stumbled as she tried to keep up with his fast steps. Just before they reached the doorway, she turned around and looked back at me one last time. Her eyes were filled with tears. The pain in them made it clear that she was sorry for leaving me behind. That single look broke my heart. I didn’t care about the pain anymore. I didn’t care about the silver burning into

  • Falling in love with a supernatural being    CHAPTER 127

Leah didn’t say anything or step back to think about what I had told her. She didn’t fold her arms or look at me with fear. Instead, she slowly moved closer until there was almost no space left between us. Her eyes stayed on mine, and there was so much love in them. She rose onto her toes and gently wrapped her arms around my neck. Her fingers slipped into my hair as she pulled me closer. Before I could even understand what she was doing, her lips touched mine. The kiss wasn’t rushed or careless. It was slow, gentle, and filled with so much love that it broke down every wall I had built around my heart. Her soft lips touched my bruised, dry ones, and for a moment, I forgot about the chains hurting my body. All I could feel was her warmth and the love she was showing me. The wolf inside me let out a happy sound in my mind, longing to wrap his arms around her and hold her against my chest, where nothing could ever hurt her again. When she finally pulled her lips away, she didn’t move fa

~ Gab ~ I kept my head down, staring at the floor because I was too afraid to look up at her. I knew what would happen the moment she saw me clearly. She would see my sharp claws, my long fangs, and the dangerous beast within me. The thought alone broke my heart. This wasn’t how I wanted her to discover the truth about me. I never wanted her to see me chained to a wall like a wild animal, looking nothing like the man she knew. I wanted her to discover my secret when I could hold her in my arms, not when I was helpless, covered in blood, and looking like a monster.I heard her footsteps approaching.I slowly forced myself to raise my head. Leah was walking toward me, one careful step at a time. Her face was pale, and her hands were shaking as she held the silver dagger Luke had forced her to take. Was she really going to stab me? If she wanted to end my life with that blade, I wouldn’t stop her. I wouldn’t even fight back. I had already lost so much, but the thought of losing her hurt
