At noon, I am done for the day and head towards my father’s penthouse. After Cian was born, he moved the family into a villa outside of Manhattan but kept his old place as one for business.

I walk towards his office which is open and spot Cian already there. “Ah, Killian,” my father greets me and I walk up to shake his hand. When we are seated he breathes out a sigh and looks at me; now I have a feeling this meeting is about me. “I’m sure you’ve heard about Dimitri’s daughter’s engagement by now,” he says, causing me to frown.
