chapter 9: confession or apology

I came back to my room after spending most of the evening by Austin's side. He's recovering quite fast and I'm grateful for that. His wounds aren't that deep like I have indicated before, he got a broken arm and some scratches which were almost healed. He's busy attending to some pack matters right now even when I asked him to take a break.

I tossed my slippers aside and climbed on the bed. After a stressful day, I deserve a good night's sleep.

I drew the blanket to my neck and closed my eyes to sleep.

Deep into the night, I felt a cold breeze blow in through the window, but I was too exhausted to care. Something like cold fingers touched my neck sending shivers down my spine and squinted my eyes tight at the effect it made on my body.
