TRAVIS SKY
"Honey, what are you doing not in your tuxedo?" My mother asked as she walked into my room. I hadn't even heard her open the door. "You know if you don't hurry, your father is going to flip this house upside down… literally." She smiled with her arms akimbo. "I will only be a minute more." "Are you going to spend that extra minute sitting on your desk and staring out the window like a depressed teenage girl?" She asked as she strolled towards me but I remained silent. She sighed, placing a hand on my shoulder, "honey," her lips curved into a faint smile, "I don't know what to say to make you feel better, I am honestly sorry about everything your father is putting you through." I looked away from the window then at her. "There is no need to be sorry mom, I really am fine now." "Really?" She questioned in a tone that portrayed the disbelief in her. "Yeah! When I realized that what I am doing is what is right for every single one of us, including her and the whole community, it stopped bothering me." "You sure don't act like it." "But I am, I really am fine." I forced a smile on my face. She cupped my cheek in her soft palm, "I hope you find love and happiness in your new home sweetie." "It is not my wedding day yet, save those speeches for the main event." She smiled, "I understand." She placed a kiss on my cheek. "I will leave you to get ready, one minute sweetie." "Yes mom." I responded with a roll of my eyes.I got up from my desk and got dressed then joined them downstairs. ★•★ Mushroom soup, bitter greens with tomatoes the size of peas, rare roast beef slices as thin as paper, noodles in a green sauce, cheese that melts on your tongue served with sweet blue grapes. The servers, all young people dressed in white tunics, moved wordlessly to and from the table, keeping the platters and glasses full. Food floated in on platers as good as any in New Orleans. The sight and aroma of the food was a gentle massage to my soul and pleasing to my nostrils. My taste buds were already tingling just as the sight of the food and my wanted to go wild and bury his face into every dish but I managed to calm him."Travis!" One of the women seated at the table called my attention away from the food. She had on her face one of the most beautiful smiles in the room. "My name is Natasha, I am Darla's mother." "Nice to meet you ma'am." I smiled back at her with a slight bow of my head. "Lovely to make your acquaintance dear, this is my daughter Darla, your bride." She smiled and pointed to the little girl that sat opposite me. I squinted, just to be sure I wasn't seeing wrong. "She… is Darla… my bride to be?" I asked again and she just nodded with a smile. "Hi!" Little Darla blushed at me. I turned to my parents and shot them with a confused look but they didn't even notice me. If I wouldn't be mistaken, she looked at most fourteen, anime blue eyes, red thin lips, not petite but small body, small ears, small everything… it was child abuse. "I am very sorry to ask this but uhm… how old is little Darla?" Her mother giggled loudly accompanied with snorts. "Oh excuse my manners, I am so sorry." The rest of her family joined in on the laughter and I was left wondering what comedy I acted for them. "Travis?" Little Darla called out to me with her tiny voice. "I hear it a lot, I understand your reason for the question. I am actually nineteen years old." What? She is actually the same age as America, how is that even possible? Yes America was little in stature but definitely not like her. "Wow! I am so sorry for asking by the way." I tried to cover the disbelief in my eyes. "It's fine, you are my husband anyway." She smiled. "I heard you had to reject your mate because of me, it's so sweet of you, thanks honey." I was starting to get grossed out by her "trying to be sweet" behavior. "Now that that's settled, let us dine." Her mother instructed. "How is the food treating you Travis dear?". "Very well ma'am." I smiled. "Enjoy." ★•★ Of all the things that happened at the table, the only thing I enjoyed was the delicious delicacy, it filled the hungry wolf in me. "What the hell dude? You snubbed my whole calls!" Dylan exclaimed as he marched towards me. "So sorry, I was at an introductory dinner with my fiancée and her pack." "Really dude? I know you guys broke up but I thought it was due to circumstances." "What are you talking about?" I frowned. "America is missing dude." I felt my eyes widened in shock. "What?" ★•★ "America!" "America!" Celestia called out in tears. "She is so little, she doesn't know anyone out there." I could feel how heartbroken she was. My wolf couldn't hold it in, he ran the entire forest till he was tired just so he feel a little peace. "Where are you A?" ★•★ Standing at the altar, I was rethinking the whole marriage decision when she walked in with her hand interlinked with her dad's. "Do you take Travis Sky to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until parted by death?" The preacher asked her. "I do. This is my solemn vow." She responded with a wide grin on her little face. "Do you take Darla Reynolds to be your lawfully wedded wife?..."They all stared at me with Inquisition on their bright faces all waiting for me to respond. "Travis." Darla whispered. "I….AMERICA' POV With a shuddered breath, my hand dropped to my side, the dagger in my hand no longer being a threat to the cunning wolf that was standing in front of me.Just in case he tried to be funny, I kept the dagger unsheathed and tightened my grip around the hilt. He let out a sigh that transformed into a smile. "Not many would have done what you just did." "You promised not to hurt me and I belie-- well I want to believe you. Plus, I want answers and you are my only chance at getting them." I tried to keep my voice confident, not wanting him to know that even with such a powerful dagger in my hand, I was feeling threatened by his presence. Though I kept my back straight and chin up, it was obvious that he could sense the fear in me thanks to his taunting smirk. I never for once paid attention to Kurt in my entire life. Never did I stop to stare twice at him enough to actually engrave his looks in my head like I did with Travis but standing in front of him... I realized he w
TRAVIS’ POVThe black sack was pulled away from my head and I was finally home. I limped towards my porch and sat there for a minute, trying to catch my breath. The wound kept bleeding like it would be the end of me. Such a close shot could have actually ended me or put me in a worse situation than I currently was. "We did it," I breathed heavily, pressing my hand against my wound. "We made it back home. Now to find help that--" The door to my apartment pushed open and Darla came hurrying towards me. "Travis!" She yelled out, pretending to be worried. "Oh my goodness! You need help!" She crouched down beside me. "I know what to do, I'll--""Stop." I muttered, cutting her off. "Go away from me." "What?" She squinted at me. "I said go away from me!" I growled as I shoved her to the ground with my remaining strength. "Is this fun to you? Huh? Tell me! You sick psycho!" My eyes grew wider every time I yelled. She landed on the floor with a thud. Her eyes widened as she stared surpri
AMERICA'S POVMin glared at me for more than a second. Her hands remained pressed to her hips and her eyes gave a disapproving glare. I sighed. "Listen, I don't mean to hurt you more than you are already hurting but you only lost one child to the dark side and look how sad you are! I cannot lose all three of my children!" "I am not asking you to leave them like you don't care. I just want you to think carefully before every single one of your actions!" "Well there's no time!" I exclaimed, my voice louder than I had intended. I advanced towards her and took her hands in mine. "Min there is no time to think twice about an action before doing it! "I have to hear what Kurt has to say and then ask him my own questions! You know, so far he has been of good help to me... Well sometimes... Like he gave me this dagger!" I took out the dagger from my pocket and showed it to her. Her eyes widened. "That dagger is dangerous! It can kill a wolf without you even striking hard. How did he..." S
TRAVIS' POV My eyes fell close as tears trailed down my face. I tried to bury out the cries of my own children as they were being dragged out of the room. The sound of the aluminum door slammed shut loudly, silence following after and I rose to my feet. "Why do you have to be so heartless? Huh? They are children!" The anger I felt course through my veins was stronger than ever. "If you do not learn to keep a lid on that temper of yours then those children will cease to exist! You hear me!" She yelled out. "Why do you have to go so far, Natasha? Don't you want America out? She'll leave this place and never return the moment you let her children go! Are you so blind not to see that? Besides, I got the stuffed wolves! Why won't you let them go?!" She broke out in a sinister laugh. "Oh unfortunately my dear, those stuffed wolves didn't signify anything, my daughter and I were just toying with you." "What?" I squinted. "Yes my dear, sadly, it isn't as easy as you think.
AMERICA'S POVMin looked so hesitant to speak, like the former words had left her mouth by accident. But the sooner she realized it was already done, the better. She let out a sigh. "Your mother... She already loved your father before since they were kids. And kids make mistakes. At fourteen, she had gotten pregnant for him and though they were young, they insisted on keeping the baby. "It would be wrong for me to call it a mistake but that it was. She refused help from all of us, even her parents, who are your grandparents. Your father supported her blindly. So it became that a child raised a child. "She gave him everything, too much of everything. He grew up to be a good kid surprisingly but when he became a teenager, he wanted to do things his own way." She paused thoughtfully and sighed. "What happened to him?" I questioned her, trying to make my tone firm and commanding. But how could I dare to command an alpha female? Yet she succumbed to my wishes and went on. "When he was
TRAVIS’ POVTears welled up in my eyes as I stared at them, the three beautiful flowers right in front of me. I had never seen anything so beautiful and charming. Cara's smile alone shattered my heart, not to mention all three of them together. I blinked back my tears, not wanting to cry in front of them. "You..." My voice croaked and I coughed to clear my throat. I sniffed. "You love me?" They all nodded their heads. Dara moved forward towards me. "Mommy always told us how much she loves you and that we should love you too." His lips turned downward. "Sometimes... I get jealous because she is always looking at your picture and thinking of you." Lara touched my knee and smiled. "It almost feels like we grew up with you. We celebrated your birthday too! We are always so excited because on that day, mom always buys the biggest cake and she allows us to finish everything! She always eats so much cake that her eyes begin to sweat.""Sweat...?" It took a second before I understood. "Oh.
