Dimitri

“Ria!”

Her name echoed down the stone corridor like a summons from the underworld. I didn’t have to wait long. She came, as she always did—obedient, radiant, barefoot.

Her body was wrapped in silk, but it was the way she moved that pleased me: soft steps, lowered eyes, her throat exposed just enough to show she remembered her place.

The anger in me roiled like hot coals under ice. Everything was unraveling—Graham’s insolence, Balshov’s interference, the ever-looming shadow of Volodymir. I needed something I could control. Something I could own.

Her.

I said nothing as she entered. Just watched her stop in front of me, close enough to touch.

“You called,” she said, her voice low and knowing.

I stepped forward, reaching out, brushing my fingers down the side of her neck. Her skin was warm, her pulse fast beneath my touch. She tilted her chin back, offering herself with practiced ease.

“I don’t need obedience tonight,” I murmured. “I need devotion.”

“Yes, my lord,” she wh

Thank you Karima for the multiple updates. Can't wait to read about the lovers weekend. Will he tell her the whole truth? Will she run or stay? We will find out soon.

why does Dimitri want both Natalie and Lisa? He said he is owed one tribute, maybe that is from each family. Carson's family was up with the heads of the families. What is his family's role in all of it. He told Natalie he could keep her safe, he is the only one who could. So interesting.

  • Fated In Darkness   192 Two Days

NatalieAs I dressed, adjusting my top and running fingers through my tangled hair, Adrian closed his laptop and leaned back in his chair, smoothing down his shirt. He looked almost casual now, as if the storm between us moments ago hadn’t happened—except for the hunger still lingering in his eyes.“Did I interrupt your work?” I asked, eyeing the closed computer. He shook his head. “Not really. Just some research… passing time.”I frowned. “Research?”“For my business,” he said, giving me that faint smile he knew made my stomach flutter. “I do have businesses, you know.”I chuckled, grabbing my jeans. “And yet you were whiling away time instead of coming to find me?”His smile faded, replaced by something heavier. “Willis is on his way. He’s bringing Lisa.”That made me pause. My hand stilled on the zipper. “Lisa agreed to come here? Why? What happened?”He leaned forward, folding his hands.“Her father bailed,” he said. “Vanished the moment he was set free. Refused to pay the debt. An

  • Fated In Darkness   191 The Bite and the Burn

NatalieAdrian’s lips trailed down my neck, slow and deliberate. The sharp brush of his teeth against my skin made my heart stutter—then race. Desire curled inside me like smoke catching fire. When he sank his fangs into me, I gasped, grabbing hold of him as my whole body trembled. Pleasure shot through my veins, hot and liquid, making everything else fall away. I could feel him drinking, feel his grip tighten, his power wrapping around me like a storm I didn't want to escape. When he finally pulled back, blood glistened at the corner of his mouth. His green eyes burned, teeth still bared. And for a moment, he wasn’t the polished vampire lord. He was Adrian—raw, unfiltered, dark as sin. And he let me see all of it.His fangs slowly retracted. His hand reached for the hem of my shirt, tugging. I didn’t hesitate. I pulled it over my head, exposed and open to him. He undid my bra with ease, then lowered his mouth to my breasts like a man starving.“Don’t wear jeans around me anymore,” he

  • Fated In Darkness   190 Claimed

NatalieAfter breakfast, Alison and I slipped away to check on my mother. She was still asleep. I stood by the doorway for a moment, watching her chest rise and fall, wondering how long we had before the venom changed everything. We left quietly. We were halfway down the hall when Arya appeared, stepping into our path like a storm waiting to break.“So,” she said, eyes flicking between us. “You brought your family. Moving in already? Worried he might get bored?”I laughed. Not because she was funny—because she was pathetic.“We both know I don’t have to worry where Adrian’s concerned,” I said, my tone smooth, sharp. “I could move in my whole damn bloodline if I wanted. Last I checked, he said I could do whatever I please.”Arya’s smile was pure venom. “It won’t last. Enjoy it while you can. The likes of you… you're beneath him.”Before I could respond, Alison stepped forward—and punched her.It wasn’t elegant. It wasn’t rehearsed. It was pure reflex, the same fierce protectiveness I’d

  • Fated In Darkness   189 Matches and Misfires

Natalie“I didn’t know I had a type,” Alison squealed, practically vibrating with excitement. “Not until I met Dimitri. He’s hot—and he looks dangerous. I like dangerous-looking men. If my dad ever met him, he’d flip.”I laughed—because if her father ever saw her with Dimitri, flipping would be the least of his reactions.“He could use a little sunlight, though,” she added, tilting her head thoughtfully. “He’s so pale.”I couldn’t help the chuckle that escaped. “I doubt he’ll be getting any of that.”She turned to me, frowning. “Why’d you say that?”I shrugged, trying to sound casual. “He doesn’t like the sun.”Her brow creased. “Weird. But whatever. He’s still hot. Do you think he’d fancy me? Like, really? I don’t want to chase after someone who’s just being polite, you know?”There was something in her voice then—a softness. Vulnerability. She wasn’t just playing around. She actually cared.I swallowed hard. “I don’t know,” I said, and it was the only truth I could give.“Can you as

  • Fated In Darkness   188 The Weight of Waking

NatalieI woke in Adrian’s bed, alone. The room was quiet, too quiet. The sheets still held his scent—dark cedar, cold steel, and something ancient. But he was gone. A strange ache settled in my chest. I touched the space where his body should’ve been, half-hoping it would still be warm.It wasn’t.Memories came back in fragments. Lancly’s arms lifting me up… the way my head lolled against his chest, how distant everything felt. I must’ve blacked out before we made it back. Now all I had was this eerie silence.I dragged myself out of bed and into the bathroom. The mirror didn’t lie. I looked like a ghost. Pale. Eyes ringed in shadow. There was sleep behind them, but no rest.I rinsed my mouth, staring at my reflection. The water was cold, but not enough to wake me from the nightmare that was now my life. The truth clung to me like smoke—impossible to shake off.The Strigoi at the club… were they there for me?Dimitri hadn’t said a word about it, but his silence was its own kind of wa

  • Fated In Darkness   187 Bury the War, Not the Girl

Adrian“Ask Dimitri to send someone in,” my father said, his tone flat, calculating. “Undercover. Embedded in Dragomir’s circle. If he's awake, if he's really moving pieces again, we need confirmation. Attacking without knowing? That would be suicide, for Dimitri, at least. Maybe even for anyone foolish enough to stand beside you.”I nodded, though my mind was far from focused on infiltration tactics. I didn’t care about espionage. I didn’t want a whisper network or secondhand rumors.I wanted Dragomir’s throat in my grip.My plan was clear: find him, strip him of his strength, drain him dry, and put him back into the ground. Forever. But the logistics of it…how do you incapacitate an ancient strong enough to unmake legacies? I didn’t know. Not yet.And that uncertainty made me itch beneath my skin.My father changed the subject. “How is your mate handling her mother’s situation?”I sighed, rubbing my temple. “Not well,” I admitted. He nodded slowly. “I expected as much. Don’t tell her
