Dante's pov

I shook my head, and for once my voice didn’t crack. “No, Elora. This isn’t the end...l, honestly, it’s where shit starts getting interesting. A bond doesn’t just poof away. One of you has to finish it for real, break it on purpose. Only after that...maybe someone else can claim you. Until then, you still belong to yourself.”

I reached out, tucked a stray piece of hair behind her ear.

Her breath hitched, and her voice cracked out my name. “Dante…”

I pasted on a fake smile, my ribs felt like they were splintering inside. “Don’t call it a loss. He’s blind, not you. He can’t see you… But I always have. Always.”

Her eyes were wet, caught between wanting something and the pain of knowing she shouldn’t. She pulled back before I could say or do something even stupider.

She had sounded so torn up, all shaky, stuck between what she owed and what she actually wanted. I swore up and down that she shouldn’t stress, but let’s be real, promises are flimsy as hell when the truth hangs over you like an axe.

I lingered with her longer than was probably smart, keeping my voice low, hands reassuring, hoping maybe I could glue the pieces of her together for just a moment. Didn’t last. The harsh slap of boots on flagstones, interrupting, because of course they would, broke whatever spell we’d managed. A pair of guards came up, heads ducked, but they moved with this weird urgency, like they were walking straight into a fire.

“Beta Dante,” one said, choosing their words like stepping through a minefield. “The Alpha wants you. Right now. He’s… uh… he’s in your chambers.”

Wait, what? I frowned. My own rooms? That was...no, that was weird. Dominic never went into anyone’s quarters unless stuff was seriously sideways. Especially not mine.

I saw Elora’s eyebrows launch to her hairline. “Your chambers?” She might as well have shouted, “Are you kidding me?”

“Yeah,” guard number two cut in, bowed, turned, and stomped away like he wanted this off his plate. The anxiety practically radiated off him.

“Nothing about this adds up,” I muttered to Elora.

Her lips got all tight and colorless. “Do you have any idea why?”

I shook my head. “No clue.”

She was death-gripping her dress, knuckles white. Getting ready for something ugly, even if she didn’t know what it was. She moved in close, dropped her voice. “Dante, something isn’t right. I know it.”

I didn’t even have time to agree before a maid came sprinting up, tripping right into a bow like she was sure someone would smack her for being slow or something.

“My Lady,” she gasped, so nervous she looked ready to bolt. “Things are… not well. The Alpha, he’s… he’s furious. In Beta Dante’s rooms. He has been waiting for a while.”

Well, that wasn’t ominous or anything. The tension was thick enough to chew. Elora turned to me, eyes huge. “What could you possibly have done?” Her tone was sharp, but mostly she just sounded scared.

“Nothing,” I told her, but inside my stomach was knotting itself into origami. Dominic wasn’t easy to piss off without real cause. If he picked my private room to stage his little meltdown? Something stank. Something was way, way off.

I squared my shoulders, jaw set. “Let’s go,” I said quietly to her.

She hesitated, all wild-eyed. “If he’s angry at you...”

“I actually do not care,” I cut in, a little too quick, maybe a little too rough. “If something’s going down and he’s been lied to… You need to see. You’ve seen how he doubts me. If I go alone, he can rewrite it all afterward, making me the villain. But if you’re with me…”

Her look held a war, fear battling loyalty, and finally settled into a grim nod. “Then I’m going with you.”

We sped down the corridor, the echo of our steps following us. My thoughts spun in circles...had Mira run her mouth? Twisted things? That spiteful little viper watched Elora at every party like she wanted her scalp as a trophy. I still remember the flowery, sick smell of her supposed poison...pretty convenient play for sympathy, huh? If she’d found some new way to worm into Dominic’s good graces and pin the blame for whatever mess was brewing…

I felt sick.

We finally got to my door. Two guards posted like statues, tension in every muscle. One swallowed hard, glanced at Elora, and practically threw the door open, everyone desperate not to own this mess.

The place was dark, fire flickering, air like a meat locker.

And in the center, stood Dominic.

So much for calm, regal Alpha. He looked wrecked. Rage coming off him in waves. Letters in his fists, crumpling so hard the paper looked tortured. His eyes landed on mine and for a second, I saw a total stranger, betrayed and dangerous.

“Took you long enough,” he bit out, voice low and sharp as broken glass.

I stepped in, slowly. “You wanted me.”

He barely glanced at Elora, sneering like he’d just caught us committing a crime.

“Yeah,” he said, “I did.”

Suddenly, the letters exploded from his hands, hitting my chest, and scattered at my feet. Some I grabbed out of reflex, heart pounding. Crests of rival packs. My name and Elora’s everywhere, ugly lines about betrayal, about coups, about stealing the throne...none of it in my handwriting. Hers, either.

Plans that weren’t ours, forged in someone else’s ink.

Of course. Of course.

Elora gasped behind me.

Dominic’s voice thundered in the chamber.

“Care to explain why I found these in your room, brother?”

Dominic’s POV I stared at Elora. She is the real Luna of this pack. She was always so ready to do things for the pack. She has gone through a lot for this pack. My mind rolled back to when we were little and she would always say things she would do for the promise she would become Luna. I always laughed, and to him, he rages and makes a great Luna. Although I never believed it then, I just said comfort to her. But look at her now... the only thing different here is that she is married to me instead of Dante. She loves Dante much more than she loves me, that I could tell, but the bond was stronger. I love her too, but my brother and I can possibly share her because of the love and the bond between the three of us. Elora would be our Luna, She would be both our wife, and Luna. This was the only thing I would do for my brother and her. I made my brother my Co Alpha so we can both be with Elora. The full moon climbed above us, old and bright, a silver coin tossed into midnight velv

Elora’s POVThey used to say peace came quietly. But honestly, it never crashed in like a battle or scorched like heartbreak. It just slipped in, soft as dawn, slow and gentle, so easy to miss until, one morning, you noticed the birds were singing again. The Crescent Moon was finally mending. The smoke stopped rising from the broken borders. Laughter started to echo where pain and crying used to fill the air, real laughter, the kind that wraps around you and promises things will get better. And me? I wasn’t sitting on a throne or standing next to any Alpha. I was right there in the middle of it all, with my people. Most mornings, I went to do my Luna duties. I help rebuild broken homes, paint houses, and make sure the children and adults are being treated well in the healer's chambers. I took care of nursing mothers and made sure there were enough supplies to last for the day. Nobody was left unattended. The young warriors still in training often trailed after me while I inspected the

Dante’s POVHaving Elora fully back was something that lifted a happy mood in me. Although I didn't like the fact that we both had to share her, and I am not sure how, there was nothing I could do. I only wanted her to live and that was enough for me. I didn't want to be greedy. When Dominic sank his fang into her neck, I felt something in me snap. It was like him touching something that was not his in the first place. But he is my brother and there was nothing I could do. He was the Alpha and Elora was his wife. Even if she were my mate, I couldn't possibly stop her husband from trying to save her life. After we were done reconnecting, I left for my room to freshen up and catch a little sleep that I've been missing for quite some days. I was sure Elora was fully recovered now and would not slip in and out of consciousness anymore. Immediately, my head hit the bed after my cold shower, and I drifted off to sleep. Tomorrow was going to be a long day, and I needed to be clear-headed

Elora’s POV I stared at the empty space within me with the moon goddess's voice echoing around me. She seemed to be humming a song. Everywhere felt so peaceful and I wished I could stay here for a little while. Back in the real world, I didn't want to take part in a lot of evil. I felt a sudden jerk and jumped."What is that?" I asked the moon goddess."You are being called back to life. It looks like your time with me has ended," She said, her voice soft."But I don't want to go just yet. At least not until everything is settled between the two brothers," I argued."Elora. This isn't about you. Your devotion to the pack is what has kept the brothers alive. If you don't go back to them, I'm afraid of the outcome," I shook my head violently. This isn't happening"Then at least tell me who I am going to choose," I pleaded."They are both yours..."Before I could make out what she had meant, I felt my body being pulled back as I tried to resist. When I opened my eyes, the air felt of

Dominic’s POVElora’s breathing was shallow. Each breath she took gave me a scare. It felt like forever, and my heart raced so hard. Her skin was really pale, and the mark Dante left was disappearing fast.“No,” Dante choked out, shaking her. “No, no, stay with me—Elora, please!”The healer’s hands trembled over her herbs and glowing bottles. She couldn’t pick one, couldn’t commit. Her voice cracked. “Her energy’s fading… her spirit’s slipping!” Her eyes darted to me, wide and scared. “If one bond won’t hold, let it pass through both. Bite her, Alpha.”I froze.Me? Bite her?I looked down. Elora’s lips parted, her face too still. I forced myself to breathe and met Dante’s eyes. He looked as if he would snap. “Don’t touch her,” he snapped. “She’s mine.”The healer’s voice cut through everything, sharp and furious. “You fool! If she dies, she’s no one’s!”Dante’s jaw clenched. That anger washed away, replaced by fear. His eyes flicked to mine. He swallowed, then nodded, slow and stiff

Elora’s POVMy chest squeezes up tight, first that low, annoying ache, then bam, it’s like a fist yanks the air right out of my lungs. I open my mouth to say I’m fine, but nope, the words just... melt. The room spins and goes all watercolor blurry.“Elora?” Dante’s voice, all echoey and weird, comes at me from somewhere underwater. Then the universe just flips sideways. The floor's gone. I’m weightless, but someone’s arms are strong; catch me before I faceplant. My head lolls back. I hear Dominic yelling for the healer, but his voice is just noise, buried under this ringing that’s taken over my brain.“Elora, look at me!” Dante’s voice cracks, desperate. He grabs for my wrist, checking for a pulse. I catch a glimpse of his eyes, those ridiculous golden eyes that always made me feel safe, they’re wide with panic now.“I can’t... she’s not...” the healer stammers, and honestly, that’s not what you want to hear right now.Everything dissolves into chaos. Hands everywhere, pressing cold c
