Chapter 14: Discovery

"I'm coming, dad!"

I hurriedly made my way back to Damien and murmured into his ears: "It seems like my dad is about to come in. Please, for the time being, hide at the back of the closet."

The response he gave was "Okay!"

He hastened straight to the location where he had hidden before without giving it a second thought. I readjusted the drapes on the window before making my way back to the door to unlock it.

"Dad, what's the deal with your return?" I pretended to yawn while stretching my arms to give him the impression that I was already very deep asleep.
