Keith's POV
"I can't believe she is the one I'm supposed to be married to. To think that she shrunk herself in a dress that almost killed her for a wedding she claims that she didn't want... Very pathetic." I sneered angrily at Nyles.
"She even had the guts to speak of you in such a manner? She must really have some guts to speak to his majesty like that. She should be taught a lesson, that it is not everyone you treat anyhow you want and go scot-free with it." Nyles said to me, caressing my head and slowly easing the tension that had burdened me for the past few minutes.
She was all I needed and I know that she was the one I loved. The strange girl from the lowly park had nothing to offer me. I didn't care one bit about her and I never would.
"Are you sure you don't mind her presence here my love?" I asked Nyle, looking at her lovingly.
"Baby, I don't mind. You know I'm very peaceful, I wouldn't want the rest of the people to think that I am standing in the way of something beneficial to everyone. I love this kingdom, I can do anything for it, even if it means sacrificing my happiness." Nyle said, as humbly as ever. It was one of the reasons I was crazy about her.
She didn't annoy me or set fire to my blood like Heather does. Her name even sounded terrible to my ears and I couldn't wait to be able to get rid of her when we were done.
"I have missed you," Nyle said and kissed me gently.
"Nyle, I have told you that we have to wait to get married before we have sex. I respect you too much for that." I said and pulled out of her grasp. It always started out with a gentle kiss and then she would ask for more. For someone who had never had sex, she was sure to be sexually responsive.
"I'm not asking for that. I just want to kiss my man and fondle him." She said and grabbed my dick, the blood, rushing from my head to my pants but I pushed her gently and walked into the bathroom, shutting the door.
It wasn't that I didn't want to stomp back into the room and rip the clothes off Nyle, but something kept holding me back, almost like I could hear a voice, telling me to wait.
There was a knock on the door and Nyle's voice floated in gently. Her voice sounded so broken and weak that I immediately felt like a monster.
"I'm sorry. I promise that was the last time." She apologized and I opened the door, pulling her in, I enveloped her mouth in a warm kiss and lifted her up, taking care to place her on the dressing table in the bathroom, leaving her legs thrown open.
She kissed me back. Hungrily. I removed her top and immediately covered her hard nipples with my mouth. She moaned and grabbed my head while grinding my shirt with her body. I pulled back but she refused to let go, grabbing my head and pulling my lips down to hers. She was hard to resist and she knew it.
I got on my knees and shifted her panties to the side. They stuck to her moist body, her face knotted in a tight grimace as I struggled to control the emotions that were threatening to overwhelm me.
"Nyle...Nyle...stop." I said and with the last self-control I had left in my body, I pulled away.
Before any of us could say anything else, there was a knock on the door. I quickly pulled out of the bathroom and back to my chambers.
My cousin came in. He was not my favourite person in the world but he was a good person and that counted for something.
Nyle followed quietly behind.
"Coz, I heard your bride has arrived..." He started to say but immediately shut his mouth as soon as he saw Nyle behind me.
"Hello Nyle, I didn't see you there." He said and gave me a look that screamed why I had not told him that the love of my life was here.
"Hello", Nyle said quietly and turned to me.
"I will be leaving now. I promised to help the old women in the pack take care of some things today in the city." She said to me and kissed me on the cheek before leaving the room, not turning back to give me one last look like she usually would. I immediately knew that she was upset.
"Why didn't you tell me she was here?" My cousin asked me as soon as Nyle was out of the door.
"When exactly was I supposed to tell you? When I magically knew it was your oaf ass in my room? Or when she was walking right behind me to the room?" I asked him, drawing out the flaw in his logic.
"Fine. You always have a reply to everything. That is not what I came here to debate on anyways." He said and immediately went to the bar to get himself a drink. As always.
"You know, your bride is really pretty. She has prospects if you give her a chance. You might be surprised by what you would get to dis..."
"Stop right there. You know I have a woman, right? I don't care if the crazy girl is the most beautiful woman in the world, and now even thinking about it, she is not even close to being, I don't care. I have eyes for only one woman and I am sure even the dead know who she is." I snapped at him, already irritated by my exchange with Heather and her outright agreement to not wanting to be married to me too.
Naturally, I wouldn't care but the thought of her saying she doesn't want to be with me bruised my ego and I felt like she was intentionally trying to challenge me just to annoy me.
"Hey, bro?" My cousin said, snapping his fingers in front of me.
"What is it?" I asked him, the irritation slightly showing in my voice.
"I was asking you what you were doing with Nyle in the bathroom, we know you are not giving her sum' or are you?" He asked me, a mischievous smile dancing on his face. I had the overwhelming urge to slap the look off his face but I swallowed and closed my eyes, concentrating on steadying my breath and my emotions.
"How is it any of your business what I decide with my love in the bathroom?" I asked him.
"Nothing actually. I wanted to tell you that you are supposed to prepare to introduce your bride, formally to the kingdom." He said and I hissed.
"I didn't ask for a bride. They married her so they can as well go ahead to do her showing-off ceremony without me. I'm sure everyone knows who I really want and would even think about showing to them as my bride." I stated and took the bottle from his hands, gulping down a large quantity to somehow numb the pain that I was feeling.
"You really don't have to do that. I think you can just put up a front outside and keep things strict with boundaries in place. That way, no one gets hurt." He suggested.
"I want only one woman and there would be no pretending about that," I stated clearly, making sure he understood that I meant every word that was coming out of my mouth.
"Okay. If that would give you the peace you want. Then no problem coz. Me and the guys are having a quick run in the forest later? Care to join?" He asked me.
"No, I want to sleep early. I have had a long day and the last thing I need is to exert any more energy." I said and took another swig of the bottle in my hand.
"Take it easy, alcohol is not something you love. You should take it easy,” he advised before he closed the door.
"Little fuckers." I whispered under my breath and walked to the window. The image of Heather filled my mind. Her blood-stained dress and the diamonds caught the perfect skin. I shook the thoughts of her out of my head, willing myself not to think about her in any light but disgust.
"I'm going to need to get my head out of the water soon, I'm not going to let this get to a point that I won't be able to control. So the first thing to do would be to go to her and lay down some ground rules." I said to myself.
"Who are you talking to?" I heard Nyle's voice behind me.
"Why are you back baby, I thought you left?" I asked her.
"I just needed some reassurance. I don't want to lose you." She said and tears welled up in her eyes. I gathered her close to my chest.
"You will never lose me."
Heather's POV Molly was sweet and nice. I couldn't have asked for a better friend. Even though we had only been hanging out for a few hours, I felt like I knew everything about her life. She was open and easy to read, even admitting to things that any other person would naturally have denied. "So, that is how you got here?" She asked me after I told her the sad tale of my life and the betrayal from the people I called family. "Well, that is the tale of my life. I didn't have many adventures like you did. My life was simply plain and boring" I said and shrugged my shoulders. "I'm glad the tale of your life brought you here. If not, how would I have gotten to meet a sweet person like you" she said and I laughed, she paused for a while and took a deep breath before asking me a question, "So about Keith, what do you think about him? He is your husband." She said like I was supposed to have been experienced him as a husband. “What do you mean?” I asked halting my step and she slightly
Heather's POVI let out a deep breath as everyone left me alone in my room, I knew it wasn’t going to be easy for me, knowing that Nyles was highly against this arrangement and Prince Keith whom I know will do anything just to make her feel happy. I slumped on the bed looking at the ceiling, still finding it hard to forgive my family for putting me in this position, I should have been left back at home, not finding myself in a love triangle. I still couldn’t understand why they didn’t allow Prince Keith end up with Nyles, it would have been better and saved them a lot of trouble. Maybe it was because of how rebellious Nyles is and her character didn’t fit into the royal family, but do I fit in too? There was a sudden knock on my door and I quickly hurried to it, thinking that it was either the Grand Luna or Prince Keith. However, I was shocked to see Nyles standing there, her chest heaving up and down. I was surprised to see her because I thought she should be with Prince Keith."Yo
Prince Keith's POV "What did you mean by it was a nice day with Princess Heather? Are you beginning to love her? Will you leave me?" Nyles asked, her voice growing louder with each word. I shook my head at her and downed the contents of my cup. The liquid left a burning sensation down my throat but it was nothing compared to the burning feeling in my chest. It was not like I cared about Heather or anything but I could not begin to assume how hard her life had been before she got here. "Look, Nyles, you know I love you and would do anything for you right?" I asked her, willing to say anything to just get her to shut up. I loved her and she knew, it was almost like she didn't believe I loved her. Sometimes I wonder why because I was the one going against the whole world for her while all she wanted was for me to throw her on the table. "I used to think so but after what I saw this afternoon, I am not going to be fooled any longer. You are going to dance to the tune of your uncle and
Heather's POV Prince Keith was waiting outside the garden for me. He had a displeased look on his face and I knew that he wished he were anywhere else but with me. I loathed him too. It was not like he had done anything to me but him having problems with all the important people in his life for a woman that clearly didn't like him as much was not a good sign. "Well, that took you long enough!" He yelled at me as I got close to him. "Look, Prince Keith, I know you would rather not be here right now, I also share a mutual feeling. I don't care what you choose to do with your life. This is the first real time I can say that I am really free but even that, I am still saddled with responsibilities that I do not want to bear" I said in one breath, barely able to catch it when I was done. He stared at me, his mouth half opened. I could get that he was stunned since he had not been expecting me to say all of that to him. I was shocked myself, I didn't know that I had that fire in me but i
Heather's POV I rushed up the stairs to my room. Breakfast had gone by in a flash and the food had tasted bland because of what I knew was waiting for me right after. The king, supported by the grand Luna had ordered prince Keith to spend the whole day with me. All I wanted to do was to curl up in a corner and die, now I had to go out with the very man who was making it very clear to whoever cared to listen that he was in love with another woman. "My Princess" Ella's voice interrupted my thoughts as I got to the door of my room. I had not seen her waiting there and she had a fresh set of clothes in hand, waiting for me. I assumed it was for the day I was supposed to spend with the unwilling Keith."Ella" I said calmly, keeping a composed exterior even though my insides was in shreds."How do you feel today?" She asked me as she fell in step behind me as we entered my room. She placed the clothes on the bed and immediately came to help me out with my gown. Before I could say yes or
Heather's POV The next morning, I woke up feeling worse than I did before. My whole body was hot and I could have sworn that it could boil a bowl of water. There was a rapt knocking on my door and I wondered if that was what had made me wake up early. Slowly I crawled out of the bed and went to the door, shocked to see Lucinda the head maid standing there. She had not expected me to open the door when I did, so she was caught off guard and hence was a bit flustered. "Good morning Princess" she greeted and I nodded my head. "Good morning Lucinda," I said and waited for her to state her reason for showing up at my door so early. "I'm sorry to have woken you up so early but you are expected to have breakfast with the rest of the family this morning. It's where you will be formally introduced to the rest of the members of the family" she said and I froze. No one had told me what to expect or how to prepare for this. The nerves overwhelmed me, threatening to cripple my knees. It did
