Elysia’s POV

Brushing my curious stare to the side, Adrian buried his hands into his pocket and pulled out a piece of jewelry which looked ancient while looking at me the whole time.

Then he lifted it up and I could clearly see the necklace, it had an oval shaped pendant.

The pendant had a structure of a wolf’s head crafted inside of it.

“ This necklace will protect you, try not to take it off.” He said as he stepped close to me and moved behind me, gently sweeping my hair to the side of my shoulders to wear the necklace.

The necklace was cold as it rested on my bare neck .

He placed his lips at the back of my head and pressed his lips kissing my head, this sent cold shivers down my spine.

“This necklace will protect you.” He said, giving a warm smile while staring at me.

I wrapped my fingers around the necklace resting on my neck and I suddenly felt safe.

Adrian stood still in front of me, folding his arm together .

“It’s my moms’, I won’t be able to bare it if any bad thing happens to you.” He said and I could see the gentle concern for me in his eyes.

I took a deep breath, my fingers were still wrapped around the neck and I realized my feelings growing even deeper for him.

‘Focus Elysia, you shouldn’t be feeling anything towards him . You main reason of being here is so you can take your revenge on those bastards that hurt you not grow feelings for another man when the previous one treated you like trash,’ I said in my mind.

I shook my head trying not to think of how bad Tlyer treated him. “I will make you pay Tlyer, I will. You will regret all your evil deeds” I muttered.

“Will you like to go to the pack house Alpha?” Warrior Joah asked pulling me away from my thoughts.

Adrian wrapped his hand around my waist swiftly which made my blushed a little.

We all arrived at the pack house, “please leave us.” Adrian ordered while we settled down.

The guards in the room left, leaving me and Adrian behind.

The room was quiet like a graveyard, we were both sitting and starting at each other’s faces.

“I wanted to inform you about the invitations I want to send later today.” He said, breaking the silence .

I took a deep breath and swallowed hard while crossing my legs together. “Invitations for our wedding?” I asked.

He didn’t answer right away, instead he reached out a drawer and pulled out an envelope that was already sealed with wax and raised his head to meet my curious face.

“We will be sending out invitations today, to all the Alpha of every pack, the dignitary, and council leaders.” He said,handing over the invitations to me.

An invitation caught my attention, “To Alicia and Tlyer too?” I said as my blood began to boil in anger.

‘Why will he invite the bastards that tried to destroy me,’ I thought while frowning.

“I understand you’re still healing,” he said as he stood up quietly, reaching out to me.

He drew me closer to me and squeezed my hands, “I need them to see you strong and see you have moved.” He added.

I pulled away slowly from his arms. I don’t think I was even ready, everything was happening so fast.

But he was right, they needed to see I was alive and strong.

My anger slowly faded, I was ready to face them. I needed to show Adrain and his so-called Luna how much I have moved on already even though what they did still hunted me.

“They will pay,” I muttered.

Adrian was silent for a time watching me closely , “I will have the maids bring you dresses to try on for the ceremony” he said and moved toward the door.

He left, slamming the door behind him. I couldn’t help but worry , I hope I haven’t stirred any anger in him.

He just left me without saying much, or maybe I am just overthinking it.

One of the pack guard escorted me to my room. When I got to my room I had to freshen up , after today’s intense training section .

So I took a quick shower and changed into a fresh set .

Later that afternoon, a trio of maids entered my room.

Their arms were full of beautiful fabric. I could sight silks, velvets, and chiffon dresses.

They laid them gently across the chaise. They whispered quietly among themselves, but I couldn’t hear because my mind wandered elsewhere.

I was caught up in between two men, one from my past that broke me and one from my present that is trying to help me.

The maids left immediately after dressing me in a deep midnight blue gown embroidered with silver threads.

I stared at myself in the mirror and wrapped my hands on the necklace Adrian gave me.

I looked like a Luna but I didn’t feel like one, after how Tlyer humiliated me in front of everyone.

Suddenly there was a soft knock at the door. “Come in,” I said, expecting a maid but instead Sarah entered.

The moment her gaze fell on me, her eyes widened. “My Luna” she chuckled.

My lips curled into a smile then I began pulling down the dress.

A mix of emotions washed all over my face.

I tried to hide my feelings, but Sarah had her way of knowing if something was wrong.

Suddenly, Sarah noticed my pale face. She walked towards me, wrapped her arms around my shoulder and guided me to sit beside her.

“What is wrong with Elysia, did Adrain do something?” She asked, holding my hands.

“I don’t know if I can handle seeing them again,” I admitted, my voice cracking.

She raised a brow staring at me in confusion, “who?” She asked .

I took a deep breath, “Adrian is inviting all the Alpha from each pack for our wedding and he invited Alicia and Tlyer too” I sighed, fidgeting my hands.

“I’m scared Sarah, I don't want to fail just yet.” I murmured.

Sarah took my hand gently. “ I understand, but you don’t have to be scared , let them see that you have moved on.”
