"Breathe Elysia. Breathe" I whispered to myself as I stood in front of the majestic door that led to the altar clutching my bouquet tightly with tears threatening to break out. I felt a tug on my wedding dress as Sarah my trusted maid and friend helped me adjust it "Smile my Luna and don't forget to breathe" she said in-between giggles " I put in all my efforts to make sure your makeup is breathtaking, don't ruin it with tears" Luna. Yes, I was about to be the wife of Alpha Tyler. Who would have ever imagined that the little frightened wolfless girl who had been rejected by her people would now be the Luna of Ravens Pack. "You may go in now" The guard's deep voice brought me back to reality The moment the doors were pushed open, my eyes landed on My Alpha, our eyes locked and the world around us melted away, leaving only the two of us. The pack members didn’t voice their doubts, but I could sense it in their glares the disbelief, the shock, the quiet judgment at how someone as low as I could rule them. Self-doubt crept in, they were right I was just an omega born without a wolf, and in less than five years I had risen to the point of being their Luna? Unheard of. But then I saw Tyler smile. My favorite smile it was soft warm, loving and that was all the assurance I needed to push myself towards him. As I took my place in front of him, he pulled me close, his lips brushing against mine in a tender kiss. A soft clearing of someone's throat broke our spell, followed by ripples of forced laughter from the crowd. “Just a few more minutes Alpha, and she'll be officially yours,” the elder whispered and Tyler replied with an even cuter smile. And the priest continued “On this fateful day, we are gathered to wed our Alpha and his chosen …” A distant shout cut through the elder’s words. “Stop!” The air rapidly grew tense and for a second, I thought I was imagining things but then the voice echoed again "Tyler.. Stop" The alarm in that voice and timing made my heart pound, causing me to instinctively reach for Tyler’s hand But I couldn't feel him. He wasn't there. A figure came running into view almost immediately making the crowd murmur amongst themselves “Tyler, stop, please I beg of you! You can’t do this!” she screamed once again, and I watched in shock as my Alpha hurriedly walked towards her as she fell in front of us “You can’t marry another when I bear your first child!” she screamed out in pain. Silence. A cold, suffocating silence rang in my head as I stared at the beautiful blond lady now wrapped in my Alpha.. My soon to be husband's hands. I stood frozen and rooted to the ground, as my bouquet slipped from my grasp while I watched my perfect day fall into chaos. The whispers around me grew louder. “I knew it,” I heard someone speak. “He’d never marry a wolfless woman with no origin, more or less an omega.” Their low and mocking laughter pricked my heart like tiny thorns My breaths came in short, ragged gasps. I wanted to move, to scream, but I couldn't I tried to say something, to say anything but nothing left my mouth. My knees buckled and chest tightened the whispers grew distant as my vision blurred, and I felt myself being dragged into a void as the world became blurry and then followed by darkness *** “My Luna! Please... please wake up!” The distressed voice felt distant as it repeatedly echoed in my head making my eyelids flutter open My voice barely above a whisper, I stared at Sarah and asked, “Where is he?” Sarah didn’t answer but the look on her face told me everything I had needed to know. It wasn't a dream. Tyler had indeed cheated on me and his mistress had ruined my wedding. A choked sob escaped my lips as my new harsh reality hit me like a ton of bricks and my world began to crumble around me again. So many thoughts and questions filled my head so much that Sarah's calming words were almost inaudible to me. Why? What did I do to deserve this? He was the one who had told me over and over again that he didn’t need a child to ascend the throne! He didn’t even want me pregnant until I was officially his Luna, but he was comfortable seeing another woman pregnant for him He had saved me, made me fall in love with him, only to break my heart on OUR WEDDING DAY. “You just woke up, please stop crying My Luna.” Sarah’s voice cut through my thoughts. “You need to eat something, or you’ll....” Luna? I let out a bitter laugh, stopping her, “You know I am not your Luna, Sarah.” The door suddenly creaked open, and my heart clenched as his scent wrapped around me as he walked into the room. “Elysia... Please we need to talk.” His voice was calm. But I couldn't bear to look at him. I felt Sarah hesitate and I nodded for her to leave, much to her dismay. Silence stretched between us before he finally broke it, “Say something…” For a moment, I was silent. Just staring at him. “like?” The word barely left my lips before anger surged through me, overshadowing my urge to break down crying in front of him as he stepped closer to me “DON’T YOU DARE, COME ANYWHERE CLOSE TO ME YOU DECEITFUL DOG!” He flinched. “Answer me! What did I do to deserve this, Tyler?” My gaze dropped to my wedding dress, which was now nothing but a cruel joke. His throat bobbed as though he were struggling to find the words. “It was a mistake, Elysia. I was drunk. I didn’t mean it.” It sounded like he was sniffing, but I was no fool to fall for those words. A hollow, broken sound escaped my throat almost like a cry for help as I continued laughing This was supposed to be our wedding night, but here I was still, husband less “You’ve never touched me... Not even when you're drunk, Tyler. Why her?” I hissed, “Why? What's so special about her.... why did she have to get pregnant for you?” In the blink of an eye he covered the space between us and I felt his arms wrap around me. I pushed hard against his chest, my fists pounding against his chest weakly. "Why? Why?.. you said you loved me... Why? Tell me? It's because I'm wolfless right..." It felt like I was drowning in my own grief but he said nothing instead his grip on my body tightened As my cries subsided, I managed to push Tyler away, my eyes red and puffy. I couldn't bear to look at him, but I had to know this. “How long?” I whispered. “How long have you been lying to me?” He had no answer. And that hurt me more than anything. I added sniffing, “Even if you won’t tell me the truth, answer this... was I ever going to be enough for you, were you ever going to accept me for me?” Tyler took a slow step forward, his eyes desperate—pleading. “Elysia, I made a mistake and I wish I could go back in time to correct it,” he started. “I really don't know how else I can assure you that you are enough, always have and...” The door suddenly burst open, cutting him short. A maid stood there, breathless. “Alpha! Your Luna just fainted!” Your Luna. Tyler stiffened. I saw the hesitation flicker in his eyes. His body swayed slightly toward me as if he wanted to finish what he was about to say, but it lasted only a second. Then he moved not towards me…. But toward her. “Tyler....” He stopped and turned his face pale, eyes pleading, “I’m sorry, Elysia... I never meant for any of this to happen. I swear on my mother's grave I love you,” He exhaled sharply, running a hand through his disheveled hair. “I have to go.” He had a choice and he made it… he left. My fists clenched at my sides. His Luna? His pregnant Luna? Five years. Five years of loyalty, of sacrifice, of standing by his side and yet... when it mattered... He chose her.Adrain's POVI woke up, squinting my eyes. The scent of herbs filled the room. My body felt heavy, but I wasn't in pain. My vision cleared slowly, and the first thing I saw was Elysia. She was curled up beside my bed, fast asleep on a small stool. Her arms were crossed over the edge of the mattress and her head resting on them.“Elysia,” I whispered. She stirred and opened her eyes, startled at first. Then her face softened as she saw me awake.“You’re awake,” she said with a wide smile.“Yeah,” I said, my voice rough. “How long was I out?”“Not for too long,” she said gently. “The poison was spreading fast, but… the herbs helped.”I tried to sit up. “You made them? I know you did.”She nodded. “Of course. I wasn’t going to let you go down that easily, Alpha.”I smiled. “You saved me.”She handed me a cup of steaming liquid. “Drink this. It’ll help with your strength.”I took it, my fingers brushing hers. “Thank you,” I said sincerely before taking a sip. It was bitter, but I didn’t
Alicia's POVI walked quickly through the hallway, the hem of my gown brushing the polished floors. I saw Sarah coming out of the infirmary a while ago.Thank goodness she didn't notice me, she looked like she was up to something and I wondered what.I clutched a small silver dagger under my cloak, my hands trembling, I wasn't scared but anger burned through my veins. Elysia had ruined everything. She took what was meant to be mine. She was never supposed to survive right from the beginning. She was never supposed to come back. And as for Sarah I will deal with her later, the liquid was a love portion meant to make Adrain mine but she spoilt my whole fucking plan and she was going to pay for it.“She’s in the garden,” one of the maids whispered as she passed by.Probably she was gathering herbs for Adrain or something. I moved faster, my steps light, my heart beating fast , it had to end today and it had to end right now.I was determined to make it happen, I would drive the blade ri
Elysia’s POVI couldn't stop thinking about Alicia. She’d gone out without saying a word and returned acting like everything was fine. Something about her behavior didn’t sit right with me. She smiled too much and looked calm staring at Adrain, which made me really uncomfortable. I sat on the couch beside Adrian, and Sarah came in carrying a tray of snacks and drinks.“Here,” she said, setting the tray down. “I’ll be right back to bring the rest of the drinks.” she said gesturing to where Adrain is seated.I glanced over at Alicia’s seat. It was still empty. She hadn’t returned yet.Was she up to something? Or she was planning one of her evil deeds. Gosh stop it, Elysia. You are just overthing.I reached for the drink that was sitting in a tray . I carefully walked to Adrain and placed it on the desk.in front of him."Here, you should have this," I said."Thank you, Elysia," Adrian replied with a smile, taking the glass from the tray.He started drinking. Adrain and Tlyer resumed co
Alicia's POVI stood by the corridor, my two hands by my side as I watched Reiner walk toward me. His steps were slow as always when he wanted to tell me something important, like he had all the time in the world. I tapped my fingers against my arm, waiting for him to get close. He finally got close and leaned beside me against the wall.“You called?” he asked, his eyes half-alert, checking around to see if no one was watching us like usual.“Yes,” I said, lowering my voice. “I have it.”He raised an eyebrow. “Have what?”I looked around to make sure no one was listening, then leaned closer. “The love potion. What we planned to use.”His eyes widened slightly, and I smirked.“I’m going to use it on Adrian today,” I said, trying to keep my voice calm, though my heart was racing. “Everything is working out just exactly the way we planned it. Still trying g to get there trust back but once I finally use this love portion we will know the next step.”Reiner didn’t look as happy as I want
Adrian’s POVI left for my office when Sarah came around, I opened the curtains and sat behind the large wooden desk, flipping through sheets of parchment and notes. The moon celebration and the fight competition were only a few days away. Everyone expected it to be perfect. I had to make sure everything was in place, the timing, the guest seating, warriors’ schedules, patrol shifts, food, music, rituals… the list went on.I was yet to send invite to other Alphas. I haven't stamped most of it.I grabbed a pen and underlined a few lines on one of the schedules Kyle had drawn up for the warrior duels.“There were too many matches in one day,” I muttered to myself. “They’ll be exhausted before the finals.”I made a note to cut it down and rearrange some timings. Just as I began to draft a new sequence for the event, there was a loud knock on the door.I didn’t bother to look up. “Come in, Kyle,” I said, already assuming it was him.“Hello Alpha,” The voice was feminine and it wasn't Ely
Elysia’s POVThe moment Adrian and I opened the door, I saw them.Alicia smiled first. “Elysia.”She said my name like we were friends. Like we had any kind good long time relationship of between us.I blinked and tried not to let my face show how annoyed I was. I forced a small, polite smile. “Good morning.”Tyler stood next to her. His face was dull and unreadable. I didn’t even want to look at him for long. I kept my eyes on Alicia instead.“I...” She paused taking a deep breath. Her voice was softer than normal like I had remembered it. “I know this might be strange… me being here. But I just needed to see you.”I raised a brow. “See me?” I was thinking the both came for Adrain, why is she here to see me.“Yes. To apologize.”Adrian stood beside me, his arm brushing against mine. He was silent, allowing me and Alicia have our little conversation. He didn’t interrupt, and that meant he wanted to see where this would go.“I’m sorry,” Alicia said again. “I know I’ve hurt you. I know
