I looked at the time and smiled slightly knowing it was time for me to take a break. I began to pack my things while the boys were arguing about the perfect hairstyle for Ian. "You're leaving already?" Ian asked after a brief look at the time on his phone."Yes," I answered as I stood up from where I was seated beside him. "I've closed for the day." "It was a pleasure having you here though," Adrian commented. "And thank you."I walked to the door and turned to face them. "You're welcome.""What are you thanking her for?" Richard asked looking between the two of us. "Hope you're not playing a dirty game behind my back?" He said to Adrian.Adrian rolled his eyes, "Don't flatter yourself." He retorted.I opened the door and stepped out of the apartment, "Have a nice day." I said not bothering to wait and hear their reply. Before I could shut the door completely, Ian wedged himself between the door smiling. "You're coming tomorrow, right?" He asked. Now, if there was something I picke
Saturday came with its usual serene but fun self as we sat in the confines of our home having a good family time. In the case of I and the girls, we talked about different things ranging from the new norms on social media, the hottest celebrity gist, new movies and their trailers and most especially our lives in the past week and today wasn't any different as I sat on the bed with a bowl of cereal and girls, location been Krystal's room. "So, I was given an offer," I stated leaning against the headboard, "to temporarily manage a celebrity." Now, this was the response I got, a gasp from Rosa and a comical expression from Krystal. Her mouth was wide open with a spoon hanging from it. "Krystal, you should close your mouth," I started, "you wouldn't want it turning into a fly trap." I smiled. She blinked at me and nodded. "Yes. What!!" She yelled. I did a mental eye roll. "What was your response?" Rosa asked. She wasn't one to beat about the bush. She was very straightforward with
Cut to about an hour later, I slouched on a chair, legs crossed on the table with Krystal in the living room watching the rerun of a popular and very interesting TV drama -we were seeing this program for the umpteenth time and note the sarcasm. Rosa had already left for her home and dad was yet to return from his outing. I felt a nudge on my left hand which disrupted the message I was typing. I frowned and turned to the source, Krystal. "What?" I asked a bit irritated. "Pay attention." She said, more like commanded. "What?! I don't get how you and Rosa find this stuff interesting." I shot back glancing at my phone. "Come on," she replied, eyes glued on the screen, "it might not be interesting but it's funny." "Of course, you'll find it funny." I mumbled lowly but loud enough for her to hear. She paused the movie and turned to look me in the eye, her arms folded on her chest. "If it's not funny or interesting," she stated, "you've got to admit that the actors," she pointed to t
I sat, staring at the blue-eyed man in front of me as he blabbered on about um.... yeah schedules. Honestly, I cared less about what he was saying and not that I care less, ugh, what am I saying? All I'm trying to say is that I'm bored, tired and famished and all of these aren't my favourites. Okay, back to reality. He snapped his fingers in my face and I blinked. "Kiara, are you even with me?" He asked, a small frown etched on his forehead."Yes." I answered. He glared at me. "Then, what was my last statement?""Kiara, are you even with me?" I smiled, innocently. His eyes widen in disbelief. "Are you for real right now?"My lips twitched slightly and I gave him an amused look. "Adrian," I started, "you've been talking about planning schedules, handling them and so on and so on." I huffed. "Aren't you tired, because I am. We should take a break." He exhaled and threw himself back into his seat. "You're right." He said. "I've been talking and using my brain for too long, I think I've
Nevertheless, he was clad in a black tee shirt and dark blue jeans and not to mention, a black face cap –which he had taken off."You look like a city hunter." I smiled. "Or did you go hunting?"He arced his head at me and let out a quiet laugh. "No." He replied. "I had an impromptu meeting with the chairman.""But you're the chairman." Adrian murmured.I looked from Adrian to Ian, confused at the sudden piece of information I just received. He's a chairman? I thought. He turned towards him and blinked, "I'm talking about the incumbent chairman, Mr Trevor." He said calmly and coolly. He nodded. "You went to the agency dressed in that?""Yeah." He muttered lowly. "What's wrong with it?""Nothing." "I was with mom when I got the call," he started, "and just like you, I was too lazy to change my clothes.""Ah, I see." He placed the empty rice bowl on the table. "You didn't run into your haters." He winked. He smirked. "As a matter of fact, I did run into some of them.""As usual." Adri
I blinked my eyes open, trying to adjust them to the light. I stretched and pushed myself up into a sitting position, taking in my surroundings.I leaned my head on the headboard and closed my eyes momentarily. "Hah." I sighed, opening my eyes.I was still drowsy and tired from yesterday's work –the running here and there, all to make sure that my client was okay. I shook my head, climbed out of my bed and trudged into the bathroom, splashed some water on my face, brushed my teeth and exited the room.As I descended the stairs, I heard faint murmurings and as I drew closer, it became clear. "He deserved it." Dad's voice rang. "He did.""That's not fair." Krystal said. "He was just merely defending himself."An argument. What could be the cause?"He should be lucky that he got a yellow card." Rosa scoffed. "He deserved more."I came down and saw the cause of the argument –a football game.I rolled my eyes, shaking my head. I never knew I had sports analysts in this house.I looked ove
"Hmm, I'm all alone." I muttered, staring at the road.Nah, you're not. I've got your back.I smiled, wryly. Yeah, you've got my back. It's rather too early to doubt myself.I turned and sat on the bench, waiting for Adrian to come. And while waiting for them, I decided to rearrange my bag. After minutes of watching people alight and board buses, a black minivan pulled up in front of me. I didn't give too much attention to it assuming it to be another vehicle that had dropped a passenger.A shadow appeared before me. "Hey." A very familiar voice whispered. "Get in."I frowned, raised my head at the voice and was met by a very bright smile. Heck, it was blinding."Hey, stranger." I smiled at him.He winked at me, smiling. "Hey, friend." He greeted. "Are you here to kidnap me?" I took my bag and looked at him."Maybe." He shrugged. "After you." He motioned for me to get into the car.I entered the car and he climbed in behind me. "Such a gentleman." I mumbled. He chuckled. "Aren't I on
After the activities of the day, we finally got a chance to take a break –that's on my own side, other managers were still running hither and yon, hence giving me the opportunity to fully observe my environment –the set. I had to give it to the organizers, production team and the entire crew for their creativity. It wasn't easy coming up with such nice and creative ideas. It took a whole lot of effort and brain to bring it to reality.I watched as the latest model got on stage and struck a pose as per the director's order, make up artists and fashion stylists running around to make sure everything was in order with their models, photographers taking pictures from different angles and the cameramen do their thing. It was a definition of busy. The stage was designed with beautiful bright colours, flashlights and HD cameras were positioned at different angles and with music playing on the background to lighten the mood. Right now, Bazzi's beautiful featuring Camella Cabello was playin
