LUCIAN

I stood and walked back into the palace.

My legs were still shaking and my heart was beating faster than normal, probably the after effect of adrenaline.

The heat, although distant, was still there.

Something crossed my mind.

The heat wasn't natural neither were we in the period where omegas are overcome with the heat.

This was different. It had to be induced.

Someone must have drugged the food.

It sure as heck wasn't the cook, not because she'd have to be trusted to a certain level before cooking for the Lycan king but because Elias would kill her and her generation without batting an eye.

So it had to be when no one was looking.

Then I remembered.

It had to be when I went back to my room to change and left the food in the kitchen.

Five minutes was all it took. That's more than enough time to mess with the food.

Someone planned it and waited for the perfect opportunity which I gave them easily.

The thought made bile rise in my throat.
