LUCIAN

"There are no men." I said to Luke stiffly, "Eli— His Majesty just misunderstood something."

Elias narrowed his eyes at me but didn't say anything.

"What happened then? What is it that Elias misunderstood?"

"Nothing serious. There was just an incident."

"What incident?" Luke asked, frowning at me

They were both frowning at me, and I couldn't help but notice the similarities between both of them.

"Well?" Luke pressed, "What incident?"

"It's nothing. There's nothing to worry about."

"Are you sure? Are you okay then? Are you hurt anywhere?"

I glanced at Elias, his frown had deepened.

This was what I expected. At least he could have pretended to care.

"I'm fine, thank you." I murmured.

"Where's your necklace?" Luke asked, "I've not seen you take it off on a while."

Elias fixed me a stare now,

I shifted uneasily, uncomfortable with the way both of them were staring at me intently.

"I took it off," I replied, "I kept it safe because it felt dangerous to walk around with it."

  • Fated to My Brother in-law, The Lycan King   I'll be here

ELIAS The throne room felt smaller than usual. Not in size—no, the vaulted ceiling still arched high above us, banners still hung in their ceremonial perfection—but in relevance. Every word spoken echoed hollowly in my ears, slipping past me without anchoring. I sat rigid on the throne, elbow resting against the carved arm, fingers curled tightly as if that alone could keep me grounded. It didn’t.“Your Alpha?” one of the council elders called carefully.I blinked once. Twice.“Yes,” I said automatically. The elder exchanged a glance with another council member before continuing. “As I was saying, the border patrol reports increased movement near the eastern ridge. Not an invasion—but enough to warrant attention.”I nodded, though the words barely registered. My thoughts were elsewhere. Not on borders. Not on strategy. On a pale face. Closed eyes. A body that hadn’t responded when I’d called his name.Lucian.I'd come back to the palace immediately, abandoning everything. I shifted

  • Fated to My Brother in-law, The Lycan King   Pleasured

LUCIAN Elias stepped out of the shower, a waterfall, water sliding down his skin. Before I could even think, he crossed the space between us, and grabbed me by the throat, then pinned me against the wall His arm came up beside my head, caging me in, his body close enough that I could feel the heat radiating off him. Everything in me reacted before my mind could catch up, my pulse leaping, my breath stuttering.“What do you think you’re doing?” he demanded. "Trying to run away from me?"I swallowed. “I—”Goddess!! Why was I suddenly feeling embarrassed. His hand closed around my wrist firmly, enough to remind me who he was. Who I was standing in front of. My anger flared for a second, instinctive as a thought surged through my mind. We'd been intimate. Perhaps made love instead of the usual sex and yet.“Don’t,” I said, even as my body betrayed me, even as my heart pounded like it wanted him closer. For a moment, I thought he would pull away. Instead, his forehead dropped to mine

  • Fated to My Brother in-law, The Lycan King   All on me

~~LUCIAN~~Training has been hectic, Elias has been strange. It was silent yet again. I shifted under the covers of the makeshift bed, laying on my side. Usually, there'd already be a series of arguments, hurtful words being thrown, or a coldness that never seemed like it would go away. It is what always happens. What we always do.. so now that we weren't, it felt strange. Too strange. Elias still laid beside me, his hand snaked its way to my waist, pulling me closer to him. I felt his head drop toy neck. Nothing was said still. I stared at the walls until shadows began to swim in my vision.. My kind drifted back to the love we made last night. It was gentle. Too gentle, unlike how Elias liked it. Something might be wrong. Do I bore him? Is he experiencing some kind of shift with the bond? My heart hammered against my ribs at the thought. Or maybe, I am just overthinking things. I turned slightly in a way I can conveniently get to stare at him. Still fast asleep, I was tempt

Lucian's POV “6…7…8…9…Don't you dare let it out now! 10!” I released my breath all at once, greedily taking in every drop of oxygen I could find. “Whew! That was close”, Elias remarked, breathing hard as well. “Next, we need to work on your posture”.My face twisted into a deep frown. “What does posture have to do with casting a spell?”, I asked, throwing him an accusing glare. In the past few weeks, our trainings had graduated from just building my physical strength to channeling my inner energy. I'd looked forward to it at the beginning as it meant learning to cast stronger spells, but to my shattering disappointment, Elias had refused to move past breathing control and other trivial exercises in the past few weeks. “This doesn't look like you want to teach me how to cast spells at all”, I complained under my breath, stretching my legs to release the tension from them. “So what does it look like then, Lucian?”. My eyes snapped up in surprise, staring at Elias', who folded his

  • Fated to My Brother in-law, The Lycan King   Beginning of something

LUCIANThat night felt different before it even began. The air outside was cool, and the wind pushed softly through the trees. Elias and I had finished training not too long ago. My body was tired, but not in a painful way. It felt more like I had finally worked out some of the heaviness that had been sitting inside me.We sat near the small fire he had made. The flames crackled, and he kept poking them with a stick like it was his favorite hobby. He looked calm. He always tried to look calm. But the truth was, I had started to see past his calm face. I noticed how his eyes moved, how his jaw sometimes tightened and relaxed. He carried many thoughts he never said aloud.I leaned back, stretching a little.“Today was rough,” I said, half-laughing.Elias shrugged. “You survived.”“That’s your version of comfort?” I asked. He smirked. “You’ll live. You always do.”I shook my head. “One day I might not. Then what will you say?”He stared into the fire. “Then I’ll

  • Fated to My Brother in-law, The Lycan King   I'm sorry

LUCIAN I woke up with a start, scaring the noisy cricket away from my ears. Looking around me, the first things I noticed were the burnt out sticks a few feet away from me.A fire? This was strange. My eyes moved to the tin can sitting beside it and a few berries scattered in front of me that looked like they'd been chewed half way and spat out. Was all of this Elias' doing? And for what reason? I looked down at myself, noticing a few stains on the chest area of my clothes. Someone must have tried to feed me. And it couldn't be any other person asides from Elias. Shutting my eyes tightly, I tried to recall any events from last night, but only bits and pieces flashed into my head. What must have happened to me last night? I began to suspect it must have been a serious deal. But where was Elias to begin with? I'd expected to find him somewhere nearby but the entire place looked deserted, with no trace of him anywhere — not even on the grass. Which only meant he hadn't spent the
