Kalani POV

He puts his head down before shaking it.

“You don’t think it’s exhausting for me Kalani?” he asks.

I look at him.

“If it is, I can’t tell. It feels like you spend more time pushing me away than getting to know me,” I say.

“You know what the crazy part is? I don't even expect perfection anymore. I just want to know that when you look at me... you actually see me before you see the curse.”

“I want a mate that wants me,” I say.

“We do want you,” Virgo says.

  • Fated to The Cursed Alpha Twins    He Never Accepted Goodbye

Kalani POVWhen we step into the club the music is even louder inside.Purple and blue lights sweep across the dance floor, flashing over laughing faces and raised glasses. The air smells like perfume, alcohol and smoke machines. It's loud, crowded... exactly what I needed.I can feel the bass vibrating through my entire body.“Bar first!” Tati shouts over the music and I nod.I sway to the beat of the song playing as we weave through the sea of people.Bodies brush against us from every direction. Nobody knows who I am here, and for some reason, that feels freeing. When we get to the bar Tati orders us four spiked shots. When the bartender places the shots in front of us Tati holds one up.“To enjoying the night and being eighteen!” she says."And making questionable decisions," I add with a grin.We both throw the shots back.I screw my face as it burns going down.Tati laughs so hard she nearly drops the second glass. We pick up the next one and I swallow it in one go.The song cha

I just want to know that when you look at me... you actually see me before you see the curse.” “I want a mate that wants me,” I say. “We do want you,” Virgo says. My eyes flick to him. “I know you do. But him it just feels like he only wants me when someone else does,” I say. The words leave my mouth before I can soften them. Judging by the way Vegas looks down at his plate, they hit exactly where I meant them to. My phone starts ringing on the table. I glance at the screen and Jordan’s name pops up on it. I silence it and turn it over. “Why didn’t you answer it?” Vegas asks. “Because he wants to suck up and I don’t care to hear it. Besides I am here with you two,” I

  • Fated to The Cursed Alpha Twins    Not Invited

Vegas POV I stand outside for a moment. The cold air burns my lungs, but it doesn't do a damn thing to cool my temper. Jordan got exactly what he wanted. He pushed every button I have, and I let him. Tati walks over to me. “I don’t like you very much but you didn’t deserve that,” she says. She doesn't sound angry. Just... disappointed. Somehow that's worse. “I’m sorry for my brother, he’s an ass,” she says before turning and walking into the house. I watch her go without saying anything. The truth is, I'm not even mad at Jordan anymore. He didn't tell a single lie. When I walk back into the house I stop in the kitchen and Kalani is pacing the floor talking to Tati. She's still upset. Every few steps she throws her hands in the air while Tati listens patiently. “Hey can I just have a minute?” I say to her. She puts her hand up. “Vegas I honestly can’t right now,” she says. Not 'I don't want to.' 'I can't.' There's a difference, and somehow it stings even more. I just

  • Fated to The Cursed Alpha Twins    Is She?

Vegas POVI walk out before I say something I might regret.Staying in that kitchen any longer wasn't going to help anyone. Every word out of Kalani's mouth made me want to pull her into my arms, and every instinct in me screamed to push her farther away instead.I walk out of the house and I head to the woods to pay a visit to the seer. The farther I get from the pack house, the quieter everything becomes. Normally the woods calm me. Today they don't. My head keeps replaying Jordan touching her face... then Kalani touching Virgo's.She touched him so easily. Like she wasn't afraid of him anymore. She hasn't looked at me like that once.I don’t knock when I enter and she jumps when I enter. The sharp intake of her breath catches my attention immediately. She covers whatever she was looking at and walks around the table. Not slowly either. Almost desperately.“Alpha what do I owe this unexpected visit?” she asks eyes flicking nervously. She’s never acted like this before. What is she h

  • Fated to The Cursed Alpha Twins    The Truth Between Us

Kalani POV I’m not really sure what Jordan was thinking coming here.Maybe he wasn't thinking at all. Maybe he just heard I was hurting and got in his truck. That sounds a lot more like Jordan than some elaborate plan.I have missed him but I haven’t thought about him romantically since that first year he was gone. Some people become part of your history without staying part of your future. That's what Jordan became to me.Virgo walks into the kitchen and notices Vegas sitting at the island across from me.“What are you doing here?” he asks him taking the seat next to him.“I live here Virgo” he replies.A small smirk crosses my face before I school it.“Yeah but what are you doing here in the kitchen with her?” he asks pointing his chin in my direction.Virgo's eyes flick between the two of us. It doesn't take a genius to see whatever happened before he walked in wasn't exactly friendly.“She had a visitor” Vegas says voice tight.“Who?” he asks eyes locking on me.“Her ex” he says

  • Fated to The Cursed Alpha Twins    The One Who Waited

Kalani POVFive minutes later, Tati and I are standing outside the house as Jordan’s car pulls up.The second I see his beat-up truck turn the corner, I know it's him before I even make out his face. Some people just have a way of showing up exactly the same no matter how much time passes. The moment he steps out, we both run over to him.Tati jumps into his arms first.“Hey, little sis, I missed your mischievous self,” he says, and she slaps his arm.“Mom said you weren’t coming back until next month,” she says.He smiles at her, but his eyes find me.“I was, but then Adonis called me and told me about Kalani, and here I am,” he says. That makes my heart stop. The thing about Jordan is... he never stopped loving me. I’ve known since we were pups, and before he left for school, we dated and were sure we were each other’s mates.Back then, forever seemed simple. We were kids making promises under the stars, convinced the Moon Goddess had already written our story. Life had other plans.

  • Fated to The Cursed Alpha Twins    Too Afraid To Love Me

Kalani POV After he gets dressed I start walking again. “Okay what do you want Vegas?” I ask looking at him. The walk back toward the pack house is quiet except for the sound of our footsteps. A few warriors we pass immediately look away when they see us together and I know the entire pack is pr

  • Fated to The Cursed Alpha Twins    Not Again

Virgo POVI hate that no matter how many years have passed, no matter what we did to make up for it. When people see us they see me killing Thea, they see death. It doesn't matter how many wolves we protect. It doesn't matter how many years go by without another incident. The second people hear our

  • Fated to The Cursed Alpha Twins    If She Survives Us

Virgo POVI learned way before Thea that if you’re not in control that’s when people die. Not maybe. Not sometimes. Every single time. This curse is all about losing control and I learned to never give Echo too much control. Conditioning him to know I’m in control saved me from a lot of shit after

  • Fated to The Cursed Alpha Twins    The Curse Didn’t End With Her

Virgo POVThe smell of blood burns my nose, the scent so thick I can taste the metallic bitterness on my tongue every time I breathe. It clings to the back of my throat, heavy and suffocating, like the air itself is coated in it.“Virgo please it’s not too late to stop,” she cries weakly beneath m
