CHAPTER FIFTY NINE

JEREMY

Mira’s eyes went wide and were immediately fixated on me as soon as I suggested the Luna ceremony. I knew she didn’t expect me to suggest a Luna ceremony that early, I equally knew it was weird to an extent for me to suggest a Luna ceremony this early, but I just couldn’t help it. I didn’t want to lose her.

And now that I had access to her the way I did, I thought it would be wise for me to immediately claim her.

“Jeremy,” She whispered softly, while fidgeting with her fingers.

“Mmm!” I slowly dragged myself closer so I could sit even closer to her.

The air radiated with mixed feelings as I kept my face on hers, holding her still so I would be able to grasp every single reaction. Every single inch her hand moved, every single time she batted her eyes, causing those thick, long lashes to flutter.

I was once again reminded of what kind of beautiful woman I had sitted right in front of me.

She slowly bit gee bottom lip after fidgeting with her fingers for a whil

CHAPTER SEVENTY-FIVEMiraI sat in a corner of my room, my heart racing as I stared at the phone in my hands, trembling with fear. I had been calling and calling, yet no one answered. The room was dark, lit only by the soft glow of my screen, casting shadows that wrapped around me like the haunting thoughts crowding my mind. I took a deep breath. There was still time, just three more minutes. I couldn’t give up now. I’d have to keep trying until someone answered. I gave it another shot. My hands flew across the phone’s screen, sending message after message. “Please,” I typed. "Let them go. We have made them suffer enough. Please.” Still no response. I typed another message, my fingers barely able to hit the right keys.I hit send, watching the message vanish into the digital void. I typed again and again, my vision blurring, my heart hammering so hard I could feel it in my throat "Please, let them go. I beg you. If there’s any humanity in you, if you care at all, please let them go.” M

CHAPTER SEVENTY-FOURMiraMy heart pounded with intense satisfaction when I received the call from the rogue packs. We had successfully imprisoned the warriors, including Lesley, in that concrete prison, and everything had gone as planned. I felt a rush of excitement at the notion of his imminent pain. "It's done," the rogue leader had declared in a gravelly voice. "We've infused the entire space with our unique poison mixture and wolfsbane. They won't be around for long. I had grinned back then, picturing the mayhem and terror that would follow. I had purred, "Perfect," into the phone. "Make sure you leave no trace." I could sense the tension in the air now as I moved through the castle halls. Members of the pack hurried by me, dread and anxiety imprinted on their features. Information about the warriors who had been captured spread out like wildfire, and everyone was frantically trying to figure out what to do. "We need to send search parties!" someone shouted."Has anyone contacted

CHAPTER SEVENTY-THREEThird POVHours crawled by in the concrete prison, each minute stealing more hope from the trapped warriors. The emergency lights cast sickly shadows on sweat-streaked faces as the room grew increasingly hotter, the air thick and stale. The initial unity brought by their pack song had long since faded into exhausted silence. One of the warriors sat slumped against the wall, his injured shoulder a constant reminder of their failed escape attempt. Beside him, was another who had stopped trying to wipe away the dried blood on his face. What was the point? They were all going to die here anyway. The tension in the room was like a stretched rubber band, ready to snap at any moment. It finally did when one of the younger guards, bumped into another mistakenly while trying to find a cooler spot to rest.Another, who was already on edge from hours of confinement, shoved back. "Where do you think you're going? There's nowhere to go! We're all trapped...... trapped in this

CHAPTER SEVENTY TWOThird POVConsciousness returned slowly, accompanied by the taste of chemicals and the sound of ragged breathing echoing off bare walls. Lesley, alongside with his brothers and other warriors, found themselves in what appeared to be a sealed concrete room, a tomb of steel and stone that stretched high above them into darkness. The air was thick, stagnant, carrying the musty scent of abandonment mixed with their own fear. Some warriors jerked awake with startled gasps, while others groaned their way back to consciousness. The floor beneath us was ice-cold concrete, unforgiving against their aching bodies. The chemical residue from whatever had knocked them out still burned in their throats, a constant reminder of how we'd ended up here.Martin was the first to fully regain his senses, pushing himself up from the cold floor with trembling arms. His head pounded, and his wolf—usually a constant presence in his mind—felt sluggish, drugged. Around him, his packmates wer

CHAPTER SEVENTY ONELesleyThe weight of my past choices lay heavy on my mind as i stood by the window of my study, watching the setting sun paint the sky in hues of amber and crimson. My reputation with women, the trail of broken hearts and careless encounters—it wasn't the legacy a pack leader should leave behind. The thought had been gnawing at me lately, an persistent ache that wouldn't subside.Tasha's face flashed through my mind—the last woman i'd hurt, barely a week ago. The pain in her eyes when she'd realized she was just another conquest haunted me. I'd seen that same look too many times before, yet somehow this time it cut deeper. Perhaps it was because I was finally beginning to understand the true weight of leadership, or maybe hi was just tired of the hollow victories the lifestyle brought me."What kind of example am I setting?" I muttered to myself, running a hand through my disheveled hair. My pack looked up to me, trusting me to guide them through these dangerous ti

CHAPTER SEVENTYJEREMYMaybe it was the smile that rested on my face as I looked back at my reflection in the mirror, but I didn’t seem to recognize these that looked back at me from the mirror as I moved my hair to the side.Within the last few days, I had worn a gloomy look all around, when I looked in the mirror, when I mistakenly turned on the camera in my phone, and when I stared back into the blank screen of my phone or the television, this one gloomy guy stared back at me till I almost began to get used to the gloomy face, I slowly began to accept it as my face. Even my wolf felt the drop in my mood.I had not even realized how much I loved Mira.I had always known I loved Mira, but I didn’t realize she had this kind of pull over me, well, not until Lesley showed up in my room the previous day. I had not expected it when he told me he had given his blessings my the union between Mira and me.“I guess we would just start the preparations for the Luna ceremony,” I told the smilin
