After Alex dropped her off back home, he then went to the company. It was already two in the afternoon.

Evie, on the other hand, was arranging her things in the closet, but halfway through, she felt sleepy.

She decided to continue her unpacking later and took a nap. Soon, she fell into a deep sleep.

It was already dark outside when Alex arrived home. He hadn’t finished his paperwork at the company and decided to complete it at home so he could accompany his wife at the same time.

But he didn’t find his little wife in the living area. Instead, Butler Clark welcomed him.

"Where is Evie?"

He immediately asked.

"The young mistress hasn’t come down ever since you brought her back in the afternoon," Butler Clark informed him.

"Prepare dinner. We’ll come down soon," he instructed Butler Clark before making his way to the lift.

He soon arrived at the master’s bedroom and found her still sleeping sou

Early in the morning…Rupert stepped into the estate, the sharp scent of blood lingering in the air. His hand, injured yesterday, was still bleeding despite being treated last night. The cut across his palm was deep, but to him, it was just a simple wound. He had encountered far worse before. As he arrived in the hallway leading to the living room, his face remained composed, his steps slow and firm as he shrugged off his jacket. The staff nearby lowered their heads and hurried away, sensing the quiet storm beneath his calm facade. In the living room, Celest was seated on a single sofa near the window, admiring the beautiful scenery outside. A delicate porcelain teacup rested in her hand. The soft morning sunlight bathed her through the glass. Her gaze lifted at the sound of quiet footsteps approaching. A faint smile began to form on her lips—until she saw the trace of blood on his hand.

It had only been a few weeks since Alex and Eve’s chaotic wedding. While most people saw it as a disaster, Hailee couldn’t help but feel a small sense of satisfaction. The interruption had spared her from watching Alex tie himself to another woman—a woman who wasn’t her.Despite everything, Hailee had been trying to move on—or at least pretending to. Outwardly, she carried herself with the same confidence and grace, attending events, making polite conversation, and smiling when necessary. But deep down, she knew she was only biding her time, waiting for the next inevitable storm. Her phone vibrated on the bedside table. A private number. Hailee frowned before picking it up.“Hello?”A calm, female voice answered on the other end. “We need to meet. Maison de Luxe. Tonight at eight.”Hailee’s brows furrowed. “Who is

Galaxy Empire Tower..Alex sat on his executive chair, his eyes dark with cold fury. His hand tightened around his phone. Rupert’s words echoed in his mind, the weight of them cutting deeper than he cared to admit."Celest has been mine from the very beginning."A dangerous suspicion formed within him, but it wasn’t confirmed yet. He needed proof.Across the room, Jaxon leaned back against the leather couch, his arms crossed, watching Alex with sharp eyes. Earl, who had just entered the office, sat across from him, his expression grim. A quiet tension hung in the air. The scent of stale cigar smoke and aged wood clung to the office, thickening the already charged atmosphere.“We need to plan this carefully,” Jaxon said, breaking the silence. “We can’t put our mother’s safety at risk.”Alex's eyes narrowed slightly. “He wouldn’t do anything to her. He wants something from me.” Then, he turned to Earl and asked, “What have you gathered?”“Daniel is still on it,” Earl replied, his gaze f

His solemnity was disrupted when the phone on his desk vibrated sharply. The sound shattered the quiet moment, and Rupert’s gaze darkened as he glanced at the screen. A single name flashed across it.Alexander.He had been expecting this. Rupert exhaled slowly and picked up the call, bringing the phone to his ear. His voice was calm, devoid of emotion."Mr. Harris."Alex’s voice came through cold and steady. “Where is my mother?”Rupert’s lips curled faintly. “She’s safe.”A short silence followed. The controlled weight behind Alex’s voice sharpened.“Return her.”Rupert leaned back in his leather chair, his gaze flicking toward the garden once more. “I’m afraid that won’t happen.”A quiet breath. Controlled. Steady. He could already imagine the cold smirk on Alex's face."You know very well I don't simply make a request," Alex’s deep voice rang through the line once more.Of course he knew. Rupert was well aware that Alex was ordering him to return Celest."You're not in the position

Celest remained seated on the bed, her untouched breakfast growing cold on the silver tray. The delicate porcelain teacup sat in her hands, the faint scent of jasmine tea rising with the morning breeze. Her mind remained tangled in the storm of questions left behind by Lucian’s sudden reappearance.A soft knock at the door pulled her from her thoughts.“Come in,” she called out.The door opened, revealing a housekeeper in a crisp black uniform. He was older, gray-haired, with a strong but dignified presence. His sharp eyes softened the moment he saw her.“Good morning, Ms. Allen,” the man greeted her with a polite bow of his head.Celest froze. Her grip on the teacup tightened. Ms. Allen?“You… know me?” she asked cautiously. The housekeeper smiled faintly. “Of course, Madam. I am Francis, the head of the household staff. We have all been waiting for you.”“Waiting for me?” Celest’s brows furrowed. “I don’t understand. Why would you…”“It is not my place to speak out of turn,” Francis

Celest’s eyes fluttered open, the soft glow of morning light seeping through the tall, arched windows. The faint scent of roses drifted through the cool air as the curtains swayed gently in the breeze. Her head throbbed as she took in her surroundings. She was in a European-style bedroom with high ceilings, gold-trimmed moldings, and a grand crystal chandelier hanging above. The bed under her was draped in white silk sheets, smooth and cool against her skin. Her gaze swept over the antique furnishings— ornate chairs, a big and elegant vanity, and a glass table with a single vase of fresh roses. The elegance was almost too perfect to be real.Where was she?Celest sat up, her breath shallow as her mind struggled to piece together how she got here. The last thing she remembered was… chaos. The explosion, endless gunfire, and Jaxon's bleeding shoulder.
