Chapter 7

Author: Double Five
When Lila woke up again, she was back in her bedroom. Julian was sitting beside her bed, getting ready to feed her some medicine.

The moment he saw her awake, he frowned. "Lila, you need to stop targeting Sienna. She may have taken your place for all those years, but none of that was her fault. You're home now, and I already agreed to marry you. What else could you possibly be unhappy about?"

Looking at the tenderness in his eyes whenever he spoke about Sienna, Lila finally couldn't hold back anymore. "Why did you really agree to marry me? Don't tell me it was because of the engagement between the Clarkes and the Everetts. I know you have the power to stand up to your family."

Julian was silent for a long moment before answering. "My family has been the most powerful family for generations. Every generation has only one son. My mother made it clear that any woman who marries into our family is expected to have children. Sienna has been cherished since she was little. I can't bear to let her go through the pain of childbirth."

The reason was so absurd that Lila laughed until tears filled her eyes.

She looked at him but couldn't speak for a long time.

"Wow, Julian, you really do love her. How noble of you."

Julian's expression remained cold. "The person I love is Sienna. But since I've promised to marry you, I'll make sure you're taken care of. Even so, my heart will always belong to Sienna."

Lila looked at him calmly. "Julian, what if one day you discover you've loved the wrong person? What if the one you really love is me?"

For a brief moment, he froze. It was as if he hadn't heard her clearly. Just as he was about to ask what she meant, Miles suddenly walked into the room.

Julian stood up when he saw him. "Miles, you grew up with Lila. Try talking some sense into her."

Miles sat down beside Lila's bed. As he reached for the medicine, the scar on his arm became visible.

It was a scar from years ago. Back then, Lila had picked up a doll Sienna no longer wanted. When Sienna found out, she snatched it back and humiliated Lila in front of everyone, saying that a nanny's daughter like Lila shouldn't touch her things.

Miles had been heartbroken. He worked construction jobs for several days, coming home covered in cuts and bruises. With the money he earned, he bought Lila the exact same doll.

Back then, he had looked at her sincerely and said she deserved the very best.

Lila looked at the man before her. He had completely changed.

"Miles, you used to tell me that one day you'd become successful. You said you'd become even more powerful than the Clarkes, so Sienna would never dare bully me again. But now that you've made it, you're bullying me alongside her."

Miles froze. After a long silence, he finally spoke, "I did hate Sienna before. But she donated a kidney to save my life."

Lila smiled bitterly. "It was my kidney..."

But he never heard her. At that moment, he heard Sienna crying somewhere nearby. Without another glance at Lila, he hurried away.

Time passed quickly. On Lila's and Sienna's birthday, the Clarkes threw a grand birthday party.

Officially, it was a celebration for both sisters. But the dresses, the gifts, and even the decorations had all been chosen according to Sienna's tastes.

She was the princess everyone adored. Lila was nothing more than a forgotten extra standing beside her.

The most ridiculous part was that, even now, the Clarkes had never told the public the truth about Lila's and Sienna's identities.

Everyone still believed Lila was only the nanny's daughter. They thought the Clarkes had adopted her out of kindness after the nanny passed away.

The family didn't want Sienna to face public criticism. So they let Lila carry all the blame instead.

Her face twisted. Then, like a machine with no emotion, she repeated the same words, "Miles, what are you doing?"Harvey, Mabel, and Julian were all stunned. They had just opened their mouths to speak when a sharp pain exploded in their stomachs. Before they could question Sienna, they all coughed up large mouthfuls of blood. The unbearable pain spread through their entire bodies. It felt as though someone had cut open their stomachs. The pain was so intense that they couldn't even scream.Miles smiled as he watched the three of them collapse to the floor, writhing in agony. Then he calmly asked, "After everything that's happened, you still didn't guard against Sienna. The food was poisoned. Did it taste good?"He suddenly laughed. He laughed so hard that tears streamed down his face."We're all fools. We let a woman like her play us over and over. And because of us, Lila suffered until her very last breath. We all deserve to die."After saying that, he slowly turned toward Sienna. His

In the end, they had nothing left to say. Silent and broken, they left the office.None of them wanted to face the fake, tearful Sienna in the hospital room. Instead, they all returned to the Clarke Residence.Julian wanted to take one last look at Lila's old room. But the moment he opened the front door, he saw Sienna. Her wounds had already been bandaged, though she still looked pale and sickly as she walked out of the kitchen.Everyone was shocked. Mabel was the first to speak. Her voice was cold and merciless."What are you doing here? Pack your things and get out of this house."Sienna swallowed her hatred and forced a smile."I know I've done a lot of terrible things. I know none of you will forgive me. But we've lived together for so many years. I... I still can't bear to leave. Dad, Mom, Julian, can we have one last meal together?"Her eyes filled with tears as she spoke. The three of them didn't want to waste another second talking to her. They were about to refuse.Seeing the

Harvey, Mabel, and Julian rushed to the Final Memories office, unaware of what was happening back at the hospital. Right now, they had only one goal. They wanted to bring Lila's ashes home.It had already been several days. They knew it was impossible to get her body back. But there was still a chance that her ashes had not yet been scattered into the ocean.Thinking about how they had skipped seeing Lila one last time at the morgue because of Sienna, they were filled with regret. When they arrived downstairs at the company, the receptionist, who had been wearing a warm smile, recognized them. The smile slowly disappeared from her face."Can I help you?"If cursing customers during work didn't get her pay docked, she would have yelled at them without hesitation. She had watched the latest Final Memories video too. The more she watched, the more her heart hurt for Lila. By the time Lila walked into the operating room without looking back, she had cried through several packs of tissues.

After seeing the ending, viewers flooded the video with comments."I'm crying. I don't understand why such a wonderful girl had to go through all this.""The last kindness she ever received came from a staff member at Final Memories. The people who claimed to care about her were the ones who hurt her the most.""When she walked into the operating room, she never looked back. She must have known that even if she did, no one would be watching.""So this is how she died. She probably could have lived a few more days, but maybe this was better. If she had lived longer, she would have only suffered more.""This broke my heart. I think this was the best ending for her. Living with people like them must have been unbearable.""I hope she's luckier in her next life. I hope she never has to meet people like them again."Even after the video ended, the comments kept pouring in.Because of the video's ending, the family became the center of attention once again.#LilaFinalMemories #TheMostHeartbr

The more Harvey, Mabel, Julian, and Miles watched the video, the more guilty they felt. They also heard all the cruel things they had once said to Lila."Lila, I beat you again."Then, almost unbelievably, the camera suddenly focused on the support beam above everyone's heads.A deep crack could be clearly seen. The next second, a loud crash echoed through the room.Everyone rushed to protect Sienna and pulled her out of the way. Lila didn't have time to react. The heavy decorations came crashing down on top of her. Blood poured from her body. The screen suddenly went black for a moment. When the picture returned, Lila was no longer on the screen. Instead, it showed Sienna secretly hiding in a corner of the house while talking on the phone."Make sure the support beam I pointed out breaks during my birthday party in a few days.""Why would I get hurt? They'll all come protect me. Lila is nothing. I hope this little accident kills her.""Don't worry. No one will investigate it. I'll sto

"But now that you've made it, you're bullying me alongside her."Lila's words echoed through the hospital room. Miles's arm, still shielding Sienna, began to tremble. He remembered the promise he had made long ago. Once he became successful, he would give Lila a good life.Instead, he had believed Sienna without hesitation. The same Sienna who had always been arrogant suddenly cried and claimed she had donated a kidney to save him. He believed everything. Then he stood by her side and helped her hurt Lila again and again. The more he thought about it, the more he hated Sienna. But Sienna, whose mind was clouded by pain, never noticed. The comments continued to pour in."I think these people are all idiots. I always thought something this stupid only happened in storybooks. Who would believe a stranger who claimed to have donated a kidney instead of the best friend who grew up with them?""I honestly don't understand them.
