Chapter 2

Author: Dancing Flower
It finally dawned on me.

As the sales director, I used to sit with the rest of the employees. The only difference was that no one was seated beside me. I had the best view of the office. From my seat, I could see everyone sitting opposite me.

Things had changed. He could not wait to covet my seat. My new seat was opposite him, located closest to the window.

Even though there was air-conditioning in the summer, I was not allowed to pull the curtains close. The blazing sun shone in through the window and reflected off my computer. It was very hot.

However, these were nothing. I packed my things quietly and prepared to walk toward my new desk with my computer. He stopped me. “There’s no need to hurry. I need to review your computer first. What if you kept the clients’ data with you?”

“Sure, you can have a look!”

I switched on my computer and let him go through it.

The former CEO, Mr. Davis, had personally hired me. He had told me that I had the veto power in this company.

However, Mr. Davis had not been in good health in recent years. Hence, he went overseas to recuperate. The things they did in his absence felt ridiculous.

I knew what Winnie was thinking. She wanted to withhold my commission from me and reduce the company’s cost. However, it was not going to be so easy to reduce the cost.

Brandon could not find anything suspicious on my computer, so he gestured at me to leave.

Henry sent me a text message. [Taylor, don’t worry. All of us support you!]

I sent a smiling emoji. Their support barely meant anything. The senior management seated on the twenty-third floor definitely knew what Winnie was doing to me, and they had allowed it to happen.

It meant that Mr. Davis would know about it, too. Since that was the case, I did not have to waste my time on them.

I clocked out after work. I did not know what I had done in the past, but from that moment onward, I would follow the company rules strictly. They would have nothing to pin on me.

I usually met up with clients after work, but that practice was going to end.

I directly drove home and gazed at the sunset as I lay on my bed. I had not done that in a long time, so I was in a good mood.

In the past, I would always have dinners and entertain clients. I finally had time to relax and spend my time for myself. I took out my cell phone and looked at the current cinema showings. Then, I ordered a ticket.

My favorite actress had been featured in hundreds of shows, but I had never been to one. I finally had time to watch one of her works.

I was suddenly added to a new sales group chat.

Brandon had created it.

[Hello everyone. All sales employees would need to write a work journal every day, detailing your conversations with your clients. I will read every single one.

[You have to prepare five potential client profiles every month. If you fail to do so, your salary will be deducted by twenty percent at the month-end evaluation.]

Henry texted me separately to rant. [Look at him! He claimed to study overseas, but why is he using such an old-fashioned KPI method on us?

[Has he not done any sales before? It’s not easy to find potential customers, and he wants us to find five per month! Most of our past agreements came from our old customers!

[The economy is not good now. How is it possible? We can’t deal with big clients. As for small clients, there are only so many people that fit into our market segment. He’s really pushing us into a dead end.]

Looking at Henry’s text messages, I could only comfort him. [Let’s take it one step at a time. You should just do what your boss wants you to do.]

[Taylor, are you really okay with him pushing you down like this? I’m not! If it were me, I’d have already resigned! I won’t be able to take this!]

Henry was very direct. I smiled when I saw what he wrote, but I stopped replying to him.

I was not worried about it. They would soon feel it.

All of them said that I was sleeping my way up, but they did not know how much effort I had put in. I really wanted to strike her, but I was a law-abiding citizen. So I left it up to the justice system to punish her. After receiving 600,000 dollars and additional bonuses, I upgraded my apartment to a penthouse. I let out a sigh while laying on my spacious couch. It was nice being rich. I was never stingy, and I was willing to spend money on myself. I deserved everything I had. As for people who looked down on me, they could only be jealous. When I moved house, Henry and the rest came over for my housewarming. I treated them to a good meal. Henry said enviously, “Taylor, you’re so capable. You managed to build your own life in such a competitive city.”“You can do it too. As long as you have a big network of clients, you’d be able to hit your sales target by following my methods!” I was very generous in sharing my own experiences. It was up to them to hit their own target

Winnie had been in the same role for more than a decade, but she earned less than me. When she heard what I said, she could not help but clench her fists in anger. However, she was unable to refute my words. It was true that her capability fell short to mine. As for Glory Corporation, I brought Daniel over while Cameron was fixing the machine, so he could witness it himself. Thus, we finally regained Daniel’s confidence. “Taylor, I knew that the other two people who visited me were shady, so I requested a site visit. As expected, they were not professional, and they had no integrity. They broke the machines! Fortunately, I don’t take their actions to heart.“I feel confident now that you’re back!” I finally realized that Daniel had caused trouble on my behalf. “Thank you.” “You don’t have to thank me! We’re friends. My son hasn’t seen you in a few days. You should visit him!” Daniel’s son was diagnosed with autism. Oddly, no one could believe that Daniel’s son was willin

I was the one who talked to my professor when we brought the machine in. Because of that machine, our production had tripled. Hence, Mr. Davis was assured that as long as I was there, there would not be any issues in fixing and maintaining that machine. However, I had not expected so much envy to surround the machine and its handler. They saw how successful the machine was, and that I was able to fix every issue with that machine. They placed a maintenance worker there. Every time Cameron came over, that maintenance worker followed him around as he tried to sneakily learn Cameron’s methods so he could replace me. When they realized they could not replace me, they tried to create problems for me in the sales department. I was stuck entertaining Daniel, and I was exhausted after bringing him around. That was why I snacked in the office. They had used that as an excuse to expel me from the core team. It would not be right if I did not teach them a lesson. I firmly planted my

I had made myself very clear. She understood what I meant. “It’s my fault. I didn’t know what I was talking about. Please don’t take it to heart!” I snorted. “How could I not? I was terrified by your threats, so much so that I visited my professor and cried to him. He told me to just quit, and that he could introduce me to another job there!”“Don’t!”The shareholders were starting to get anxious. “Taylor, we will give you a satisfactory answer. Winnie, as a manager, you treated your people inappropriately.“From today onwards, you’ll be suspended for investigation!“Brandon and the engineer he hired have damaged our machine. We have already filed a police report, and he’s already been detained by the police. Taylor, if you manage to get Glory Corporation to sign the renewal agreement, we will immediately grant you your commission!“We will also give you some shares!” “Would Mr. Davis agree to this?” Upon hearing my question, he immediately answered. “He has agreed! We’ve

I had the same thought. Since my professor had invited me to stay, there was no reason for me to decline. In the end, Winnie and the others were suffering. I had done nothing to cause the chaos, but they were suffering from anxiety. Seeing that I was not affected, Cameron smiled. In the end, I did spend a full week in Shine City. The company was already a huge mess when I returned a week later. Not only that, but senior management had also made an appearance at emergency meetings. I received a massive backlog of missed calls. When Henry updated me, I leisurely got off the train and took my luggage home. I took a shower and went for a spa treatment before heading to the office. When I reached the office meeting room, a lot of people were already seated. I swept my glance across the room. Mr. Davis was not there, but Winnie was already receiving a lot of scolding. Her eyes lit up when she saw me. She immediately pointed at me. “It’s Taylor! He did it on purpose!“It’s fine if

Winnie was anxious. “What’s going on? Quick, open it up and have a look.” When they opened the latch, smoke rose from the machine. The machine was completely destroyed. Not only that, but the screw that they tightened earlier had broken into two. The broken half had fallen to the bottom of the machine. If they wanted to retrieve that screw, they would have to take the entire machine apart!Upon seeing that, both of them were dumbfounded. The maintenance worker stared at Brandon. “I told you not to tighten the screw, and you didn’t believe me.“What kind of engineer did you hire to fix this mess? If he doesn’t know what he’s doing, he shouldn’t be touching it!“Now everything is broken!” Winnie’s face darkened. “Alright, isn’t the previous engineer, Cameron Garcia, from Zillion Corporation? Just call him to come over.” After Winnie said that, Henry laughed. “Winnie, Cameron isn’t any normal maintenance worker. He’s one of the top talents of Zillion Corporation. He’s als
