MasukWhen he gets inside and sits on the edge of the bed, it’s a whirlwind of emotions.
He and Daniel have been together for ten months for ten months and yet not a single time has he ever felt this suffocating desperation for Daniel’s attention the way he feels it for Andre. And it is killing him to know that Andre doesn’t want him around, His stomach kicks violently and tears sting at his eyes. What is his problem? Moments later he hears movement at the door and panics because Andre is walking in and he looks lifeless. As if he didn’t just have hundreds of people screaming for him, as if he isn’t fucking amazing. Why isn’t he celebrating? This is the first time they’ve both been awake and present in their dorm in a week. He knows not to say a damn thing. Not now. It can wait. It can. But Dylan is fidgeting and anxious and he just snaps, voice frantic, “what exactly did i do?” Andre looks over his shoulder from where he was digging in his closet for different clothes. “what are you talking about?” “you haven’t spoken to me in a week, Andre.” He feels desperate and frantic and his heart won’t stop screaming at him to stop “you won’t even look at me! Even right this second! So tell me, what did i do?” “Nothing.” Andre squeezes the jeans and button down shirt in his hands so tight his knuckles are white when he turns around. “Seriously, you didn't do anything. but—“ “But what?” Dylan steps in front of him blocking the bathroom. His face red and chest heaving “but..” Andre’s tone is harsh and sharper than Dylan’s ever heard used against him. Andre has only ever been soft and sweet and cautious when he speaks. His voice right now feels like venom, "I don’t have time to talk about this right now. My family is waiting for me at the bar. your boyfriend is there too. so why don’t you go talk to him instead of wasting time here cornering me.” Dylan’s jaw drops.l cornering him? Him genuinely asking a question is ‘cornering’ him? “fuck you, Andre. god forbid I'm worried when basically my best friend for the last two and a half months doesn’t spare me a single word and ditches me to walk to class alone.” “That’s my fucking problem, lan. Shit” “What is?!” Dylan’s head falls back. He will not cry. This is so stupid. He won't. Andre ’s voice loses all of the heat, he just sounds hopeless, “Will you please just drop it and leave me alone? I cannot afford to go into this with you right now.” “So I just have to sit here, unable to focus on studying for my exams because I’m too busy racking my brain to figure out what I did to make you hate me in the span of a week.” what-the-fuck-ever. Dylan is not staying in this suffocating, emotionally charged room any longer. Trying to charge out, he hears the clothes drop from Andre’s hands before he feels the hand that wraps around his wrist, spinning him around and backing Dylan up until he’s flush with the door and Andre’s standing chest to chest with him, “hate you? Do you think I hate you? ” “what else am I supposed to think when you dropped me like hot shit and do everything in your power to avoid me!” Andre scoffs. His hand loosens from Dylan’s wrist but when it falls it lands on his waist instead. It's too much. Andre should not be standing this close. Andre ’s hand should not be on his waist and he should not be looking at him from this close with those sharp, dark, gorgeous, brown eyes. And Dylan shouldn’t want to cry in relief at Andre finally paying attention to him. Even if he’s angry. something is better than nothing. but nothing is better than the way Andre ’s fingers tighten on his hip when he curses. “Im fucking desperate for you, Ian. All i think about twenty four seven is you. Being around you is infuriating, because I can’t stop myself from wanting you. but you have a boyfriend. and that boyfriend of yours is someone really important to me. so i can’t risk fucking that all up because i cant get my feelings in check. So yeah, I've been avoiding you and I'm sorry if it hurt you, but its been fucking killing me. So we're even.” “Andre , I…” “Don’t .” he snarls. Dylan doesn’t know when his hands ended up against Andre’s chest. He’s sure he put them there with intentions of pushing him away. But why does it feel like he couldn’t do that if he tried. Instead they curl into the fabric and hold him in place. Tugging a bit closer, “please don’t avoid me, Dre. i can’t—“ Andre’s forehead presses into his own and Dylan feels like he’s seconds away from sobbing, the way Andre’s eyes struggle to lift up from where they were staring at his mouth makes Dylan so weak in the knees he almost falls over. Dylan swears to the heavens that if he could be forgiven for just this one sin…he will never do anything like this again. he just…wants to know…he has to… he needs to— “I’ve got to go, Dylan. but now you know. I’m not avoiding you because I hate you. I’m avoiding you because I hate myself .” then Andre’s in their bathroom with the door shut and locked. When Dylan’s slow nuzzles turn into long hot presses of lips against his neck, is Andre supposed to be able to stop the shivers that spread across his entire body? How can he? The first two weeks they spent apart were horrible but after a week of having this perfect human in his arms, the three weeks without him, have been his own personal hell.Dylan’s teeth catch onto the skin just beneath the collar of Andre’s shirt. Sucking the tiniest little mark. Andre’s fine, he’s cool.Dylan brushes his index finger over the mark he left behind, low eyes and mouth slightly ajar. But it’s the quiet way he whispers ‘mine’ to himself, that has Andre kissing him instantly. He never stood a chance of keeping this kiss innocent when one of Dylan’s hands grasp onto the back of his neck. He’s trying to pull himself as close as possible and Andre just can’t let his baby struggle.Another day? He’ll be intrigued to test Dylan’s patience. Right now? Andre just wants to love him so bad. The hand tha
Despite his protests, Andre demands they take a walk just to get some air. They get dressed reluctantly and Dylan doesn’t let go of his hand for a single second. He tries not to let himself worry too much about whatever Andre witnessed in the room. This hotel has a beautiful outdoor walkway, lined with flowers and looking out onto a massive swimming pool.Water sounds and laughing kids they all help drowning out everything else. Andre stops them when they reach the entrance to a poolside booth–he’s not sure what they’re stopping for but Dylan’s eyes land on a frozen drink machine that has his name written all over it.But the last thing he’s going to do is ask Andre for more. Not when he’s already doing so much. So he stands patiently, chin over his boyfriend’s shoulder, eyes watching the families that play in the water. Gasping softly when a straw is pressed to his lips and when the sweet taste of frozen banana slushie hits his throat he almost moans. Thankfully he doesn’t, bu
Andre rolls onto his side, making it easier to tuck Dylan against himself entirely. Hand soft against the back of his head, “you’re okay, baby. It's just us in here. you and me.” he feels Dylan nod against him but it's not enough. Andre wants to make him feel better and he doesn’t fucking know how.All that he knows to do right now is keep holding him until Dylan feels comfortable to talk.Dylan is spiraling. It’s not that he wants to spiral, he doesn’t realize he’s spiraling. But sleeping took him right back into the kitchen, with his mother kicking chairs and tearing sweatshirts. The living room at fifteen, surrounded by study materials and not being allowed to have dinner until he knew everything. A car ride home from the baseball diamond at nine, his mother’s bitterness over him fumbling the ball several times still aches as much as it did back then waking up to that loud crashing sent his already fragile mind into a frenzy. He tried so hard not to cry.All he’s done is cry.
He can hear water coming from the bathroom and really, he shouldn’t be as surprised as he is when Andre grabs his hand and guides Dylan inside. Not a word is spoken the entire time as they get undressed, slipping into a tub that is probably double the size of the one back in Andre’s bedroom. But instead of his usual position behind Dylan’s back, Andre sits across from him.Tugging at his ankles until Dylan rests his legs in his boyfriend’s lap. “Do you have your phone? Or do they have it?”“I have them, but they’re both broken. I haven’t had them since Wednesday.”“I figured that much” Andre tries to smile but Dylan can see just how hard it is. As much as Dylan is absolutely loving the way Andre’s deft fingers work at his feet and calves. He just needs him.He needs him close more than anything. So he sits up and moves until he’s wedged himself between Andre’s legs. Settling back against his chest. “I imagined you showing up next week to find me homeless.”“I sure as hell hope you
Hyeri sobbed for an hour while we were packing at the last minute because she wanted to see you.” Andre presses one more kiss to his lips. Closing the trunk behind him as he smiles into it, "It’s your fault we all love you so damn much.”The car is silent, save for the soft music playing through the car speakers. The sun is just barely peaking up behind the clouds. Hyeri’s hand is tight on Dylan’s. She reached for it as soon as he got in the car and hasn’t let go since. Andre’s weight and warmth pressed up against him feels so much like he’s got his own personal forcefield. A safe little barrier of love that he can rest into and close his eyes and not think about anything else.He doesn’t know how long it takes them to get where they’re going. But when his eyes start to open, it’s to the smell of something really delicious and the sound of the car parking.Hyeri’s voice is soft, “Dylanie and Andreie are sleeping. What do we do?”“M’awake” he grumbles softly. Nudging at Andre who
Dylan faces David. The room feels like it’s spinning. He nearly falls over, “What?”“I’m not your biological father. I had suspicions. I’ve had them for a long time, but I confirmed it yesterday with our results..”“So that test… was a DNA test??” Dylan’s knees feel so weak. He genuinely doesn’t know how he is still standing, “What do you mean he’s—”“Oh, I already know your grandmother told you all about my broken heart. You guys enjoyed laughing about it.”Jiah walks into the room, “no one was laughing about your pain. I was trying to help my grandson understand why you’re hellbent on ruining this relationship of his.”“Wait…did you know since you got pregnant?” His head snaps towards Rena, “Did you know that dad isn’t my dad?” He looks at his grandmother, heart breaking, “and did you?!”The look on her face shows nothing but regret.“Wow. So I’m the only one who had no idea. My entire life I’ve been treated like a disgrace in this house. And that’s what it is? Because the guy who k
