Chapter 7: Chapter Seven: Got Married Out of the Blue!

My belongings are yours, and your belongings are mine.

Not long ago, the indifferent gaze of Pete Melville was still vivid in her mind.

A scene suddenly flashed through Elizabeth Forster's mind, but it vanished as quickly as it came.

The man got up, freshened up, and sat on the living room sofa, focusing intently on the laptop screen in front of him. His distinct fingers tapped the keyboard rhythmically.

For a whole hour, Pete Melville worked like this, and Elizabeth Forster watched him.

With nothing else to do, she cautiously approached the man and whispered, "Am I disturbing your work? Should I go back?"

"No, stay."

Pete Melville continued typing, and the three simple words carried an air of authority that brooked no refusal.

Fine, if he didn't want her to leave, why be so harsh!

Looking around, her gaze finally landed on a magazine on the coffee table.

Well, since there was nothing else to do, reading a magazine would be fine.

Thus, a harmonious scene unfolded in the living room.

The man was working diligently, and the woman was quietly reading, basking in the perfect sunlight, which filled the air with a warm, sweet scent.

Elizabeth Forster had only read half of the magazine when the man's deep, magnetic voice slowly reached her, "You said you once lost your memory. How did you meet Edwiin Kingsley?"

Thinking of that utterly despicable yet unrepentant man, Elizabeth Forster felt a surge of anger.

If she had known what kind of person Edwiin Kingsley was, she would never have agreed to marry him.

Now, having escaped from Edwiin Kingsley, she had somehow ended up in Pete Melville's arms, inheriting her mother's shares in the Forster Corporation, and losing her chance at a first marriage.

After all, once she and Pete Melville obtained that red marriage certificate, if she ever met someone she truly loved and wanted to marry, it would be a second marriage!

Elizabeth Forster sighed heavily and admitted, "There was no real affection between us. He pursued me, and my father wanted to form an alliance with the Lin family, so I agreed to marry him. Therefore, Edwiin Kingsley's infidelity didn't affect me at all."
