Chapter 35: I Will Take Care Of It

last update 게시일: 2026-03-03 10:30:16

Evelyn's POV

I texted Cass, asking if I could take the rest of the day off. He replied almost immediately with a short “Okay, take care.”

I’d thought about going to see my dad, maybe getting some comfort from him, but the idea of him seeing my face like this, puffy, blotchy, was unbearable. He’d ask questions, and I wasn’t ready to tell him anything.

So I called an Uber and went straight home. As soon as I got inside, I went upstairs, shut my bedroom door, and locked it. The air in my room fe

  • Flash Marriage with the Homeless Alpha   Chapter120-A refreshing new start

DOMINIC's povIt'd been three months since I got the call from Liam about Amanda trying to escape the permanent hold. We'd reinforced barricades, wolfsbane and even warriors ever since. Liam had even gone as far as to visit there more often. At some point, I'd had to step in to relieve him from his self-imposed job."She's not your job, mate." I had told him. "Your life is way more than keeping that woman locked down.""Yeah." he'd quietly replied. He was still uncomfortable with the possibility of Amanda not being kept in check, but he'd toned it down a notch.Thankfully, we hadn't had more casualties ever since."Dominic?" Evelyn called from the bathroom, while I sat in bed, going over papers that still needed my signature."Yeah?" I called back, a bit distracted."Dominic, my water's broken!" That got all my attention, and I stared up in horror as she appeared at the bathroom door, holding her belly, water trickling down her legs."What?" I asked, and felt like I was seeing stars.

  • Flash Marriage with the Homeless Alpha   Chapter119-The prison that tried to escape

LIAM's povIt had been two months since Amanda got moved to her permanent prison. Two months of peace, quiet and calm. Dominic and Evelyn were thriving as Evelyn puppy grew in her belly. It wouldn't be long until the heir was finally born, and we all surely awaited its arrival.Meanwhile, I remained in charge of what happened to Amanda, and found myself visiting her cell from time to time, just to make sure that she remained miserable."Don't you get tired of visiting?" She asked with a smirk, one cool morning while I was making my occasional rounds. She rose from her bed and carefully walked to the door. "Call me crazy, but I'm starting to have reason to believe that you enjoy seeing me, Liam."I shot her a narrow gaze."You are crazy, Amanda. You always have been, and for the reason I keep tabs on you? It's so I can make sure you're still suffering. But I see you haven't had enough wolfsbane in your system lately. I'll fix that."I walked to the panel that released wolfsbane through

  • Flash Marriage with the Homeless Alpha   Chapter118-A life and didn’t know I could have

LIAM's pov"Let's go!" I announced, when I pushed open the gates of Amanda's dungeon cell. "And don't even try to escape, because I'll personally break your legs."She sneered at me as groggily walked out of the cell and leaned weakly against the walls."You've literally had me inhaling wolfsbane for days. I'm shocked my bones haven't simply melted from all that toxin." She drawled out and looked up at me.She wasn't wrong. Dominic and I had planned to move her permanently to the deepest dungeon cells beneath the territory, and to make sure she didn’t escape we filled the vents with wolfsbane so she could be weakened every time she inhaled. It was diabolical, but it greatly suited one as devious as Amanda."Well, it was effective, was it not?" I asked, and reached for her arm. "Let's go, our car is waiting.""My car?" She asked weakly. "The one that'll take me to my lifetime prison. Will Dominic be driving?"I raised a brow at her and scoffed."He doesn't have the time of your day, se

  • Flash Marriage with the Homeless Alpha   Chapter117-This is the Luna’s verdict

EVELYN's pov"I've made up my mind." I said to Dominic, after days of quiet reflection. "About what?" Dominic asked, looking up from whatever he had been seriously reading on his phone."About Amanda. I know what I want to do with her, although I suppose I've gotten some inspiration from you." He raised a brow as I struggled out of bed, my bump a bit more evident now."I've tried and tried to convince myself that this pack would be better off with Amanda long dead and forgotten…" I began and then shook my head. "I'm even aware that the pack elders will see my choice as overly merciful and weak…but even then, I don't want Amanda to die."Dominic's gaze softened at my gaze, and I knew he understood where I was coming from without me having to say too much. But still I explained myself."It is enough for her to be imprisoned for the rest of her life. She will be stripped of any form of rank or pack privileges. No more wolfsbane…well, perhaps a little bit here and there to keep her wea

  • Flash Marriage with the Homeless Alpha   Chapter116-A stronger mind and resolve

EVELYN's povAfter wrestling with the thought for nearly an hour, I decided to pay Amanda a visit in the dungeons.I remembered that Domniinc told me she was in the dungeons of the other house, but I decided to wait for him before going there myself. That way he wouldn't have to worry when he returned to the room and didn't find me.But then, when he did return and I brought up my wish to see Amanda, he didn't seem too thrilled about it."Are you sure?" He asked, rubbing at his brow. "You really want to look at that wench?"I nodded slowly from where I sat in the bed, my demeanor strangely calm."I'm slowly forming a decision, but I think I need to see her to solidify my choice. Plus, I think it would be a form of closure for me."He sighed deeply and rubbed the back of his head."I don't know, Evelyn. That woman is vile, and I'm worried seeing her would put you in a bad state. I'm really not sure this is safe.""really? Because you are the one who has been telling me how safe I am an

  • Flash Marriage with the Homeless Alpha   Chapter115-Amanda deserves severe punishment

DOMINIC's POVI waited till Evelyn had eaten her lunch and was taking a nap, before I called up Liam and arranged for a meeting."I didn't know you were back already, I would have visited earlier." Liam said at the other end of the phone. He sounded like he was driving, but I didn't bother to ask where he was."Yeah, the doctor just discharged her this morning, so I brought her home as soon as possible." I said quietly. I was seated outside in the garden, where I was sure no one would hear my discussion with Liam."Is she much better then?""A whole lot." I said and thought for a moment. "Although, she doesn’t seem so comfortable. She seems on edge, like she is waiting for something bad to happen again."And the thought of it left me feeling troubled."Well, that's only normal. Considering what she's been through. Just give her some time.""Time." I murmured and stared at the house. The window in our room was visible from where I sat, and found myself just watching it as though I was

  • Flash Marriage with the Homeless Alpha   Chapter 56: An Apology Is Enough

Evelyn’s POVBefore I could make sense of it, Harrison’s father stood before me, his tone surprisingly respectful. “Miss Evelyn, I owe you an apology on behalf of my son. He acted without honor. Please, forgive his mistakes.”As I was trying to process his words, he opened a velvet box. Inside lay

Evelyn’s POV The next morning, sunlight crept through the curtains, nudging me awake. I stretched beneath the sheets, my body sore but not in the way I expected. Evelyn's POV Harrison pestered me badly, last time. His words had been laced with arrogance and mockery. He was the last person I wanted to see, yet Amanda had thrown him directly in my path. Evelyn's POV This morning, my stomach wouldn’t settle. Every tick of the clock seemed louder than usual, reminding me that I had only two weeks left in my probation.
