Hi, loves!

I wanted to talk about something for a moment because I’ve seen many different opinions about Viola’s character. 💟

One thing I’ve noticed is that a lot of you want Viola to fight back immediately, stand up to everyone, or simply leave.

Honestly… I completely understand why you feel that way. We all want to see the heroine win. We all want to see her stand up for herself and finally stop accepting everything that’s happening to her.

But more than anything, I wanted Viola to feel real.

Not everyone who grows up in an abusive environment becomes loud, fearless, or rebellious. Some people do. But some people become exactly like Viola.

I’ve genuinely met people like this in real life.

People who apologize even when they did nothing wrong.

People who get scared when someone raises their voice.

People who automatically think everything is their fault.

People who believe they deserve bad treatment because that’s the only life they’ve ever known.

They’re not just fictional characters. They exist, and their stories deserve to be told too.

Years of emotional and physical abuse change the way a person thinks.

When you’re constantly told you’re worthless, unwanted, stupid, or a burden from childhood, after enough years you slowly begin to believe it yourself. You stop trusting your own voice. You stop believing your feelings matter. You don’t become weak because you were born that way—you become conditioned to survive.

That’s what happened to Viola.

She wasn’t raised with confidence.

She wasn’t raised believing she had choices.

She had no friends, no support system, no financial freedom, and nowhere she could run. Even the people who were supposed to protect her became the ones hurting her. Every time she tried to speak up, things only became worse.

Many people ask, “Why doesn’t she just fight back?”

But real life isn’t always that simple.

Fear can become a habit.

Silence can become a survival instinct.

Sometimes surviving another day feels safer than risking everything in one moment.

Not everyone responds to pain the same way. Some people become loud, rebellious, and ready to fight back. Others become quieter, softer, and afraid of making even the smallest mistake. Neither reaction is unrealistic. They’re simply different ways people cope after years of emotional and physical abuse.

Viola isn’t Vanessa. Vanessa grew up confident, outspoken, and believing she could do whatever she wanted without consequences. She was never taught to question her own worth or stay silent to survive. Viola grew up believing she was a burden, that her voice didn’t matter, and that every mistake deserved punishment. They lived under the same roof, but emotionally, they grew up in two completely different worlds.

Some of the people I’ve met were kind, intelligent, and incredibly capable, but years of abuse convinced them they were none of those things. That’s why I wanted Viola to feel human instead of perfect. She won’t change overnight, because people rarely do. Real healing takes time, and so will hers.

Her kindness isn’t her weakness.

Her trauma is.

And trauma doesn’t disappear overnight.

A person doesn’t wake up one morning after years of abuse and suddenly become fearless. Healing is slow. Confidence is built little by little. Learning to say “no” after a lifetime of saying “yes” is one of the hardest things someone can do.

I don’t want to write a heroine who is magically strong from page one. I want to write someone who slowly finds her voice, learns her worth, and becomes stronger because of everything she survives—not because she was born fearless.

Growth isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s so quiet that no one notices it except the person living through it.

Sometimes the bravest thing a broken person can do is take one small step forward when every part of them wants to hide.

That’s the journey I want to tell.

Thank you for being so invested in Viola. Whether you love her, get frustrated with her, or just want to shake some courage into her, it means you’re emotionally connected to her story. As an author, that’s something I’ll always be grateful for. ❤️

I hope you’ll stay with Viola until the very end of her journey.

I hope that with every chapter, you’ll understand her a little more. ❤️

exactly. I find it so interesting that people can't tolerate characters or people in general who were abused. not everyone's life is parents that took care of them properly. this is real. people have mothers that tell them they are worthless. and, I think it's important to tell those stories.

You are so true author. Trauma does affect people differently. That's why Viola's story growth is perfect for me. There are a bunch of people out there still struggling even when they have received help. So just write it however you imagine author. I will stay to the end.

  • Forbidden By Her Mafia Stepbrother    CHAPTER 189

The twelve-year-old boy dragged his aching feet over the cold marble floor. Every step sent a sharp, throbbing ache radiating through his bruised ribs and battered shins. His white shirt was rumpled, the seam along his right shoulder torn open from the ruthless training session in the courtyard. His lower lip was split in the corner, tasting of copper and salt, and dark purple bruises were already blooming across his cheekbone and jaw. Yet, despite the throbbing pain in his body, a faint smile tugged at the corner of his swollen mouth. He slid his hand deep into his pocket, his scraped fingers checking to make sure the small, foil-wrapped pieces of chocolate were still safe. His mother loved chocolate. But in this house, under the suffocating rules of the estate, she was never allowed to have it. She was never allowed anything that brought her genuine joy. So after his brutal sparring session had ended and the instructors had turned their backs, he had slipped quietly into the pan

"You're still not answering me," she whispered softly.Sebastian lowered the spoon back into the bowl. He looked up at her, the amber in his eyes softening just a fraction."This fortress is my real world, Viola," Sebastian explained, his voice low and steady. "This is the heart of my cartel. This is where I truly rule. Out there, in the city, I wear a mask for high society. But this place is mine. No one enters without my permission, and no one leaves."Viola stared at him, her heart thumping softly."I had men watching, but by the time I got the word that you ran away from the estate, I was in Mexico," Sebastian continued, his jaw tightening slightly. "The second I found out, I took my jet straight back. But before my men could intercept you on the road, David got to you first. It took hours to track his car down in the storm."Viola watched him closely, searching his sharp features for any sign of a lie.She found none.A heavy breath escaped her lips, the suffocating knot of betra

Sebastian stood completely motionless beneath the barrage of her fury. His amber eyes stared down at her trembling, shattered frame, his jaw clenched so hard the muscle feathered beneath his skin.Viola raised her small fists again, hitting his chest weakly, the anger draining out of her, leaving only hollow, broken exhaustion. "Say something..." she whispered, her forehead dropping forward against his shirt. "Please... Just tell me why..."Sebastian didn't say a word.He reached out, his large, powerful arms wrapping around her small body, and pulled her flush against his chest."No—" Viola gasped, her hands pushing weakly against his shoulders, squirming against the suffocating warmth of his hold. "No, let me go... Don't touch me! Don't—"Sebastian tightened his grip, his strong arm anchoring her securely around her waist while his large palm cupped the back of her head, pressing her face firmly into his chest."Quiet, Dulzura," he commanded softly, his voice dropping its harshness,

"Viola. Open the door."No sound came from inside.Sebastian’s jaw ticked. His voice dropped into a low, lethal timber that carried clearly through the heavy mahogany. "Do not make me say it twice, Dulzura. You know I hate repeating myself."Still, the room remained dead silent.Sebastian turned his head toward the armed guard stationed at the end of the hall and extended his palm. The guard quickly hurried over, fishing a heavy brass master key from his pocket and placing it into his boss's hand before stepping back with a bowed head.Sebastian slid the key into the lock, turned it with a sharp click, and pushed the heavy double doors open. The suite was dim, illuminated only by the fading orange and purple hues of the twilight bleeding through the floor-to-ceiling windows.Viola was curled up on the small velvet chaise lounge near the glass. Her knees were pulled tightly against her chest, her small arms wrapped around her shins, staring blankly out into the endless wilderness. The

"We have completely diverted her," Mateo explained, a faint smirk tugging at his lips. "We wiped every trace and planted false trails leading in the opposite direction. We created an illusion so convincing she believes Miss Viola managed to slip away and leave the city on her own. She will keep chasing dead ends and find absolutely nothing."Sebastian nodded slowly in approval, a dark, satisfied smirk touching the corner of his lips. "Good.""And what about Rafael?" Sebastian asked, his tone level.Mateo hesitated for a fraction of a second before answering. "He hasn't suspected a single thing. He didn't even care that Miss Viola disappeared. To him, it's nothing worth his time. It is only Octavia who is furious because her pride is wounded."Sebastian let out a low, humorless chuckle. "Let her drown in her own humiliation. Viola is no longer within her reach."Mateo bowed his head respectfully. "Understood, Jefe." He turned and exited the study, closing the heavy doors quietly behind

Sebastian ignored him. He picked up a pair of heavy steel pliers from the tray, testing the weight in his large, calloused hand."We'll start slow," Sebastian whispered. He took David's right hand in an iron grip. The scream that tore from David's throat was blood-curdling. It echoed violently off the concrete walls as Sebastian slowly, methodically gripped the first fingernail and wrenched it free from the raw, bleeding bed. Blood welled up instantly, dripping down David’s fingers and splattering onto the cold floor.David sobbed, his body convulsing in pure agony, begging in broken, incoherent gasps.Sebastian didn't blink. His expression remained utterly dead, completely detached, as if he were merely peeling fruit. He moved to the second finger, his grip unrelenting, listening to the agonizing crunch of cartilage and torn flesh with cold indifference. He dragged out the pain, piece by piece, breaking him slowly, expertly keeping him on the razor's edge of consciousness without let

The study in the Hierro estate always smelled the same. Old leather, expensive scotch, and decaying power.Sebastian stood near the massive mahogany desk, looking out the large window that overlooked the manicured gardens. Dinner ended exactly as it began—stiff, quiet, and suffocating.Viola didn’t wait for Vanessa or her mother to stand up. The moment Rafael pushed his chair back, she slipped away from the table.
