It’s been a week since I’ve been living in this hell-hole and nothing seems to be going my way, not even the new escape plan I was coming up with. See, in order for my plan to work out, Draven had to at least acknowledge my existence but instead, he came to loath it. However, there’s some-what good news about my current situation. I made progress with the vampires. I haven’t really had an actual conversation with any of them but I didn’t ignore them or mentally gag every time I see them either, which I think is a big step for me. They seem to think that I was “finally” getting used to my new home which is probably the reason
“Don’t!” I started to plead when Draven took a step back before disappearing from my sight. I circled around my position, trying to catch sight of him but he was nowhere to be seen now, and I drew in a shaky breath, my hands shaking with a pounding chest. Where is he? “He went to find your parents.” I heard Edward say and I turned to look at him, my whole face knotted in fear and concern.“That’s not true, he wouldn’t go that far!” I snapped, shoving those thoughts away and shaking my head.“Oh, but I do.” I stiffened immediately and turned to look at Draven who tilted his head to a side, giving me his usual cold look. My body tensed up at the sight of my mother, who was now standing next to Draven as she shot me a million daggers.“Mom, it’s not what you think, I-”“For heaven’s sake Adriana, what has gotten into you?!” She cut me off, he
I flattered my eyes open and sat up straight, darting my eyes around the room as I tried to remember everything that happened last night.“That’s right, I was chosen.” I murmured to myself before clutching the pillow close to my lips. “Did I fall asleep later?” I wondered, getting out of bed and walking into the toilet. After washing my face and taking a quick shower, I headed up to the wardrobe, opening it and picking out a casual white and pink summer dress. As soon as I wore them, someone knocked on the door but before I could give them permission to come in, the door flew open and in came the girls, each one of them wearing a stunning outfit with matching heels.“Come downstairs to eat.” Ferra ordered and I slowly nodded before grabbing the black slippers, quickly sli
“Your room.” Draven confirmed, opening a door to reveal a spacious and luxurious roomwith vintage yet, contemporary furniture. The first thing that I noticed about the , mynew bedroom was the large window that seemed like the perfect way out for me to escape this god-forsaken mansion. Everything was in black, including the painted walls and the luxurious chandelier that hung over my king sized bed. The bed, however, was neatly wrapped up with a warm, peach colored blanket with at least five pillows surrounding the headboard. As I stood gawking at my new room, I heard Draven ‘tsk’ before giving me a slight push inside, sending me stumbling forward. I swiftly turned around and stood up straight before regaining my
How? How did I get chosen?“Of all the people, why me…?” A voice repeatedly asked in my head as I took a few steps forward, fighting back the tears that were now threatening to fall. I felt Draven burning holes through my face as I walked past him but I kept my gaze on the ground, regretting every step I took, before standing in front of the crowd, next to the four girls. Whisperings and clapping’s filled the room as everyone congratulated
They say that all of us are truly afraid of something. You can’t really stop being afraid of something by pretending everything that scares you isn’t there. This is my world. A world where you live in constant fear, at least in my eyes, it was. Today was finally the day that I was going to face my fears. Although, there’s no doubt that if I had a choice, I would have chosen to avoid them. Today was the day I come face to face with the vampires. Truth be told, humans had discovered about the existence of vampires years ago and was able to get along with them “normally”, as they say it, but in my eyes, it was nowhere close to being normal. The fact that we breathe and live in the same world as them wasn’t right. The fact that we, weak humans had to obey their every command wasn’t right. The fact that we humans look up
