Chapter 4 - Threatening

Dawn's Pov.

I started moving in the pool panicking as I didn't know how to swim. I could see death lurking around me and the assholes laughing at my state and I was hoping magically someone would appear and save me but that only happens in stories, right?

I was getting out of breath and losing consciousness when suddenly someone tugged at my arm and waist, pulling me upwards to the surface. I started coughing to get my breathing steady, not bothering to take a look at my savior.

"Are you okay, Dawn?" The person asked me, I know this voice so I peeked at him.

It was Simon, my childhood best friend. My all-time supporter and now, a savior. I flashed a dazzling smile at him and hugged him tightly, crying, feeling overwhelmed as I was almost about to die.

"WTF, Simon, you ruined all the fun!" Luca spoke angrily, looking at us.

"Have you gone nuts? She would have drowned and you only care about your fun!" Simon glared at him and we embraced each other more tightly but I jumped in my place when I heard his cold voice.

"What's going on here?" We all looked at Uncle who was coming towards us with a glare and I don't know why I felt very scared because of his anger.

"Nothing, Uncle Hunter, we were just playing around a little with Dawn, after all, she has come back after a long time!" Luca tries to save his ass as he is equally scared of his anger.

"Oh really? Then why did you all push her to the pool? She would have drowned and died if I wasn't here." Simon asked them, seething in anger, holding me gently while I started shivering in the cold.

"Get them out!" Uncle spoke to Luca while looking at me without blinking.

"What?" Luca asked, not understanding what he meant.

"Get your friends out this fucking moment before I tie them up and push them to the pool until they take their last breath!" He said every word so scarily that Luca didn't have to do the work, his friends ran away on their own.

"Uncle, you can't behave like this with my friends for this fucking bitch who is an outsider!" Luca barked, looking at me with disgust.

And this time, uncle's eyes turned red, his hands turning into fists and I felt he would bury him deep in the ground for badmouthing me. But I know he can't do that because after all, he is the son of his brother and Winston Playford will definitely not like it if he gets to know his son was beaten brutally by his younger brother!

"It's finally time to close your bank accounts and seize your cards and let's see how you have fun with your friends after that!" Uncle told him and he was totally not expecting that.

"You can't do that, don't act like my father. I will tell Dad that you are bossing around in his absence!" Luca threatened him, like seriously?

"And do you think I am scared of him? I might be younger than him but we both have equal positions in the Playford family so I can do whatever the fuck I want to do but you can't and don't you dare utter another nonsense about her and if you do, then I won't stop myself to knock some senses at your mind and then let's see, if your father can save you from me or not?" He said in such a threatening tone that he also left silently as he didn't want to get beaten black and blue in his father's absence.

"Dawn, are you okay?" I looked at Simon who was gazing up at me warmly.

Before I could answer him, a rough hand tugged at my arms pulling me up and my back clashed with a hard chest.

"You can leave, Simon. I will take care of Dawn." Uncle said from behind me, his voice and touch giving me a euphoric feeling that I can't describe.

"But I was here to spend some time with Dawn!" He sadly told him, looking at me.

"She needs rest, you can meet her at her birthday party!" I wanted to reply but Uncle beat me to that.

"Fine, take care, Dawn. I will see you later!" He smiled warmly at me and I waved at him until he went out of my view.

Once he left, I felt intimidated suddenly and I peeked at him to find him, staring at me already. I felt he wanted to say something but I sneezed on his face before he could do that.

"Shit, I am sorry!" I apologized and sneezed a few times again.

"Go and quickly change clothes then meet me in my study room!" He ordered me and left before I could ask why.

~~~~~
I knocked on the door of his study room and heard him saying come in so I slowly opened the door and stepped inside.
Woah, I was truly mesmerized by all the big bookshelves as I never entered this room before because no one was allowed to come inside.
I wanted to go and grab a book because I loved reading books but his voice stopped me.
"Dawn, come here and have the green tea!" I looked at him to see him concentrated on the laptop with his specs on which gave him a sexy look.
"But why green tea?" I asked, plopping down on the couch with the tea.
"It will help with your cold!" He answered and I started drinking, staring at him often.
He is so nice to me, it feels nice to have someone who takes care of us!
I wish Mom could be this caring but since she has gotten Emily, she only thinks about her well-being.
"Uncle, did you read all these books?" I asked to keep up a conversation with him.
"Most of them!" He answered, not taking his eyes off the laptop.
"Uncle, can I read the books?" I asked him, hoping he wouldn't say no.
"Dawn, do whatever the fuck you want to do but don't call me uncle!" He harshly said and it was the first time, he was this much harsh with me!
"Why not? You don't like it?" I asked, feeling hurt, thinking he didn't count me as a family too, he also doesn't like me.
"Yes, I don't like it!" He gave me a look that I couldn't pinpoint.
"But why? You don't see me as a part of the family?" I asked him, my eyes getting teary and I saw him clenching his jaw and fist.
"It's not that. I am very young so it doesn't look good when a grown-up girl calls me uncle!" His logic seemed very illogical to me.
"You don't hate it when Emily and Luca call you uncle then what's wrong with me?" I asked him and he got up from his armchair to march towards me.
"When I say something just do it, don't question me one after another." He said, grabbing my nape to make me look at his eyes because of our height difference.
"And Dawn, I can't let you call me uncle because I hold a deeper relationship with you and do you know what that is?" He asked, coming so close to my face that our lips were almost touching and my heart started thudding in excitement.
