The air at the dinning hall became thick as it was suspended with tension. The words I uttered made a great disturbance in the peace of the environment as nobody felt like talking.

My mother was hurt but she had to put on a fake smile to calm the situation at hand. As for Lucas, he has this deep connection whenever it comes to my mom's dishes that he refused to look up all this while.

We continued eating as the dishes were cleared out in no time. Everyone on the dining hall began feasting on the dessert (ice cream). Definitely, I missed the cooking style of my mom so much but I can't let go because of that situation.

"What do you think about the meal, Lucas?" My mother asked with a smiley face as he directed her attention to Lucas.

"It is just great, it’s been long I enjoyed home made dishes", Lucas responded as he finally looked up to other people.
