AMELIATyson shook his head. “ I told you, Levian needed to deliver the souls of four other Lycan Kings to Lexusi to get the soul of his son back from the underworld. For centuries, he tried to make Lycans turn to his God. He used all means but he couldn’t even get one Lycan on his side. No one would ever dare to betray the Moon Goddess and lose their honor for anything in this world. ”But you did. The words were on the tip of my tongue but I didn’t say them. I licked my dry lips and glanced at my hands that were folded in my lap.“ He came up with an insane idea. He thought…he would kill all the Lycans and steal one child from each of them. Four sons of the Lycan Kings. He would raise them so they didn’t know the code of honor a Lycan was supposed to follow. When they would turn eighteen, they would automatically become the Lycan Kings. Then, he would make them turn to Lexusi. That’s how he decided he would get his own son back from the God of Blood and Gore. ” Tyson dropped on the
AMELIAIt was kind of a ritual now, to stand in front of the mirror and stare at the mark on my neck every morning. It didn’t affect me as much as it did before, but it still made my mood sour for the rest of the day. It was a constant reminder that Daniel had almost managed to rape me, but at the same time, it was a reassurance that he was hurting because of this mark.Taking my eyes off the mirror, I decided to exit the bathroom. Elizabeth was already by my bed, telling the maids to clean everything thoroughly. She had found me naked under my sheets this morning, and it was a new level of awkwardness and embarrassment for me now. Tyson, as usual, left me after I fell asleep. He didn’t like sleeping in the same bed as me, I figured and stopped looking for him every morning.“ Your sister is here. ” Elizabeth informed me when she saw me approaching.I halted in my way and looked at her. A wave of nervousness washed over me at the mention of Adelia.I was confident when Tyson told me
AMELIA “ Why can’t I catch anyone’s scent? ” I inquired. “ It was His Highness’ order. We had to drink the scent suppressor. ” The warrior informed. I looked at Adelia from over my shoulder, silently asking her the same question. She nodded, telling me that she was asked to do the same. I hung my head low and shook it. I didn’t even think that Dad might catch Adelia’s scent and this plan could go to the dumpster quickly. But Tyson did. He was helping me all the while acting like I was on my own completely. I didn’t know what to make of it. But, it drew me deeper into the black hole that was my love for him. My lips twitched as the warrior opened the door. The nervousness was gone, because I knew Tyson had my back whether he showed it or not. My eyes adjusted to the darkness inside the dungeon quickly. I searched the empty, stuffy room before my gaze halted in the corner where he was sitting, chained to the wall as I had been in Daniel’s pack. The door closed slightly behind
AMELIA The moment my hand touched his wrist, I was sucked into a familiar abyss of memories. I still hadn’t grasped how this ability truly worked but I believed I would find out what meant the most.A moment later, I was proved wrong because I ended up in the middle of blood and gore; a battlefield. I was in a constant state of motion. The only thing I could make out in the tunnel of red was the ragged breaths and immediate reactions to sudden attacks. The sky was just as pink as the blood seeping into the mud beneath the wolf’s paws. My movements were not mine. It was something I was seeing with Dad’s eyes, something that was a part of the past. But for me, it was new and it was terrible. The stench of death and blood was strong. It made my stomach twist with disgust. It took me a few moments to realize the disgust didn’t belong to me either. The emotions belonged to Dad as much as everything else.‘ They keep coming. What do we do? ’ A voice yelled in Dad’s head.‘ We keep fightin
AMELIA Tyson didn’t ask me anything. It was not like he even had the time to investigate me. He had to leave for the North and get there before the people from the South ended the discussion. He was reluctant to leave me behind so I didn’t have any other choice than to get inside a carriage that was awaiting me. It was a poor choice, given that we could have gotten there sooner if I could just ride a horse but I didn’t say anything to Tyson. However, I was getting annoyed now. Instead of leaving me behind like he did before, he was moving at the snail speed with me. I opened the small window of the carriage and peeked out. Tyson turned his head to give me a questioning look. “ Are you not worried that you will be too late, Your Highness? ” My gaze roamed around and took notice of the other warriors before settling on him again. “ Why does it matter to you? You should just stay inside and enjoy your journey. ” Tyson’s sparkled as he told me. I sighed, barely holding myself back
TYSON You don’t feel anything for me. I recalled her words and almost rolled my eyes. How dense did one have to be to believe that? Why else did she think I was like this to her? Why was I always pushing my limits and giving her huge margins everywhere if I didn’t feel anything? But…I would never mention it to her. The feelings didn’t need to be addressed. It would only complicate things if I tried. “ We still don’t know about my mother’s role in the South. Is it really a good idea for me to be around the people from there? ” She asked, keeping her head resting on my chest and snuggling in as if I were her safe haven. The audacity of this girl was beyond my understanding but I liked how she was all over me all the time. “ That’s why you won’t be around them. ” I directed my gaze to the steep I could see ahead of me. “ What do you mean? ” She hummed. “ When we get there, someone will come to take you to your room. You need to go there and stay inside unless I tell you to come
TYSON “ Usurping a throne as you put it, involves getting rid of anyone who poses a threat to your reign. ” One of them started in an emotionless voice. “ Is that why the new King slaughtered the powerful opponents from his family and locked up the rest? ” Dustin smirked. I had to resist the urge to poke him until I knew what he knew. It was so fucking creepy that he was always aware of everything going on in the Three—no—Four Kingdoms. The other two men looked equally surprised. They must be wondering about the same question. How the fuck did he know? “ Who does he want me to find? ” Dustin switched back to the query at hand. “ Some years ago, a woman escaped the South. King Mason, who was the King at that time refrained from launching a full search for her because he didn’t want to start any war with the other Kingdoms. After some time passed, her family sensed their bond breaking. She died or was killed. ” The one with the darker shade of grey in his eyes told Dustin. “ Yo
TYSON “ Amelia? ” I patted her cheek. Worry etched between my brows, giving away her importance to me. “ You knew her all along. ” They were still talking nonstop but here I was, only focused on the girl who was unconscious in my arms. “ Call the healer, Dustin. ” I hissed without sparing anyone a glance. “ Take her to the room. ” He replied instantly. I picked her up in my arms. Her head dropped on my shoulder. I stiffened when I noticed how cold she was getting. I had not seen something like this before, so I didn’t know what was wrong. And this was more worrisome. “ Do you really think we will let her out of our sight, King Dustin? ” Coburn scoffed. “ she is coming with us. Once we bring her back to the South, our King will decide her fate and he will be the one to decide if he wants to establish peace between us or not. ” My eyes left Amelia’s face which was turning pale and glared at the man who proudly stood in front of us. “ Try it. ” I warned. Their eyes snapped to me,
