“When did you think of doing this?” Rita asked looking at her friends, then at Chris as she ate a slice of the chocolate cake. They were sitting around a round plastic table on comfortable chairs in the garden..
“Well, it was all your man’s doing. He contacted us a week ago so that we could free up this day incase we had anything going on. Amelia couldn’t make it since she’s still on her tour,” Glenda said as she smiled at Rita, feeling happy for her friend.
“Yeah! He kept asking if I will be free because he wanted more people to come and celebrate your birthday with you,” Jayden said, giving Rita a wink.
Rita’s heart swelled with warmth as she turned her head and looked at Chris who was sitting next to her, drinking a beer.
“Thank you husband. I love you,” she whispered and stood up slightly, leaning towards Chris and gave him a peck on his lips.
