Edrick’s POV

Adrian would not shut up.

We were walking toward the office building, early morning traffic humming around us, but all I could hear was him.

“This is a disaster waiting to explode,” he said for what felt like the hundredth time. “You’re not some college kid sneaking around, Edrick. You’re married. You have a public image. A company. Investors.”

I kept walking, jaw tight, adjusting my cufflinks like that required my full concentration.

“And she’s your wife’s twin,” he added, incredu

Edrick’s POVDanger. The word echoed in my mind.I forced my face to remain composed.“I’ll get to the bottom of this,” I said firmly. “I promise you.”But beneath my controlled tone, panic was clawing its way through me.She could be fine. She could have changed her mind. She could be hiding somewhere, determined to cut all ties.Or…She could be in real danger.Leonardo’s face flashed in my mind.I straightened.“Take me to the station.”…The train station was crowded as usual, people moving, announcements echoing overhead. To them, it was just another day.To me, it felt like a crime scene. We went straight to the information desk.“I need access to the passenger records for the trains that departed four days ago,” I said coldly. The attendant blinked. “Sir, we can’t release that information due to privacy protocols.”I leaned forward slightly.“You will.”“Sir, without proper authorization…”“Shut your mouth.” I said, not wanting to hear his whining. Then stepped back and made

  • Forced to Marry my Sister’s Fiancée    Fog

Edrick’s POVIt had been days.Days since I last saw her.Days since I heard her voice.Days since I felt that pull in my chest that only Alina could create.I had gone to the bar more times than I cared to admit. I went under the excuse of a drink. Under the excuse of checking on things. Under the excuse of coincidence. But she was never there. At first they said she was off shift. Then they said she had not come in.Then they said she had stopped coming altogether.Did she resign because of me?Did she finally decide I was not worth the trouble? My jaw tightened at the thought. My spies had reported that she had not left the house on Friday and saturday, and sunday. After that, their updates became uncertain. They said she drove out with Lila one evening, and that they came back. They said the curtains stayed drawn. No movement. No confirmed sightings. They said they haven't seen her since then, and its like she was probably sick. So she was staying in. I tried calling her.The lin

Alina’s POVIt had been two days since the tests. Two days since my world cracked open and refused to close again.I had not stepped out of my room.I had not eaten.I had barely slept.I lay on my bed staring at the ceiling, replaying everything over and over again until my thoughts felt like knives scraping against my skull.A soft knock came on the door.“Alina,” Lila’s voice called gently. “Please open the door.”I closed my eyes.“I’m not hungry,” I said weakly.“You haven’t eaten in two days,” she replied, her tone breaking. “At least drink something.”“I’m fine.”I was not fine.I heard her sigh on the other side. She knocked again, softer this time.“Please.”I turned my face into my pillow and pressed it over my head to block her out.Silence eventually followed. And then the tears came again. They came in waves, violent and uncontrollable. My body shook with them. I cried until my throat hurt and my chest felt hollow. Why did my life keep getting worse? What had I done to de

  • Forced to Marry my Sister’s Fiancée    Done for

Alina’s POVI shot up from the bed like someone had poured ice water over me.My phone was still in my hand. The screen was still glowing. The email was still open.I stared at it again, my vision blurring as tears welled up in my eyes. My head began to spin so fast I had to grip the edge of the mattress to steady myself.Pregnant.Eight weeks.No.No, no, no.It could not be real. This had to be an error. A mix up. Maybe they sent me someone else’s results. Maybe the lab mislabeled something. Maybe the system glitched. There had to be an explanation. My chest tightened as I reread the report for the fifth time. The numbers did not change. The words did not rearrange themselves into something kinder.Positive.Approximately eight weeks.Eight weeks. My stomach dropped. Two months. The room felt smaller, like the walls were closing in. I pressed a shaking hand against my mouth, trying to quiet the sound rising from my throat. This was not possible.I had been careful.I had not missed

Edrick’s POV“Call them again!”“I just did,” Adrian snapped beside me, gripping the dashboard as I sped through a red light. “They said the paperwork checks out. Bail was posted four hours ago.”“Four hours?” I barked. “And we’re just finding out now?”My hands tightened around the steering wheel until my knuckles went white.Leonardo was out.The same man who had kidnapped Hannah. The same man we caught with illegal arms. The same psychopath who smiled like it was all a game. And somehow, somehow, he was walking free.I slammed my palm against the horn as a car slowed in front of me. “Move!”“Calm down,” Adrian said, though he didn’t sound calm at all. “We’ll handle it.”“Handle it?” I shot him a furious glance. “We had him. He was supposed to stay inside.”I had gotten distracted.By Alina.By sneaking around bars.By convincing myself that what I was doing wasn’t really an affair because we mostly just talked, drank, touched, pretended we weren’t playing with fire.God.I had forg

Alina’s POVI felt hollow when I stepped out of the club.Edrick had left ten minutes earlier. And i already missed him life he had been gone for ages.I hate the ecstasy of this temporary reality. This false reality. But I have decided to push all the future pending consequences and enjoy the present. The night air was cool against my skin as I checked my phone.Eight missed calls. All from one contact.Dad.My chest tightened instantly. We had not spoken properly since the day he told me to leave. The day he pressed money into my hand like I was a liability, he needed removed. The day he chose peace over me.I stared at the screen for a long moment before pressing call back.It rang twice. He answered.“Hello,” I said quietly.Silence. Then his voice, cold and controlled.“So you finally decided to pick up.”“I just saw the calls,” I replied. “Is everything okay?”“Don’t pretend,” he snapped. “Do you think I don’t know what you’re doing?”My heart skipped. “What do you mean?”“You’
