By six o'clock, Eva had changed outfits twice. Neither dress made her feel like Julian Castellan's wife.

The third dress waited on the bed, untouched.

"I don't want to go to the dinner," she said, backing away from the dress

Julian adjusted his cufflinks in the hallway mirror without looking at her.

"You aren't going for yourself.

"I don't know anything about—"

"You don't need to know anything. You need to smile and say very little." He turned, studying her for a moment longer than necessary.

  • Forced to Wear My Sister's Wedding Dress   The Things She Didn't Know

Julian arrived at the restaurant a few minutes before Sophie, choosing a quiet private room away from the main dining area where they could speak without worrying about anyone overhearing them. When Sophie eventually walked in, she paused near the door as though reconsidering whether she should have come at all, but after taking a breath, she closed the door behind her and walked toward the table.Julian watched her take the seat opposite him before asking, “Did you tell her anything?”Sophie frowned, clearly caught off guard by the question. “About what?”“About the wedding.”Her expression changed almost imperceptibly, and for a moment she looked down at her hands before raising her eyes to meet his. “No, I haven't told her.”“Are you planning to?”“I don't know.”Julian's gaze hardened. “You should know.”Sophie gave a quiet, humorless smile. “That's easy for you to say. You're not the one carrying the secret.”“You agreed to keep it.”“I agreed to disappear,” she reminded him, her

  • Forced to Wear My Sister's Wedding Dress   What She Came Back For

“I’ll meet you at home. I want to meet Sophie.”Julian’s expression changed slightly at the mention of her name, and although the reaction lasted only a moment, Eva noticed the way his attention sharpened. He had been about to ask whether she wanted him to come with her, but the look on her face told him this was something she wanted to handle herself.“She asked you to meet her tonight?” he asked. She nodded. “She said she wanted to apologize properly. I don't know what will come from it, but I think I should hear her out.”For a moment, Julian said nothing. He knew how things had been between the sisters, and after everything Sophie had done, he wasn't sure what to make of her sudden change of heart. Still, he could see from Eva’s expression that this mattered to her.“All right,” he finally said. “Just be careful.”“I will.”Eva gave him a small smile before getting into her car. Julian watched until she drove away, but the thought of Sophie remained with him long after the car dis

  • Forced to Wear My Sister's Wedding Dress   The Auction

Eva arrived at the private venue two hours before the first approved guest was expected to arrive. The auction hall was quiet, with the staff moving around the room as they completed the final preparations.Several of the heritage pieces had already been placed inside secured glass displays, while others remained under protective coverings until they were needed. Security personnel were stationed around the venue, checking the entrances and ensuring that only authorized people would have access to the auction area.Eva walked through the preparation area with Henderson, holding the final checklist while she reviewed each section carefully. She went through the provenance documents, valuation reports, bidder credentials, restricted-access list, transfer paperwork, and authentication reports for the lots that were going to be presented that day. There were more than a dozen pieces that required final verification, and she made sure she went through each one rather than relying entirely o

  • Forced to Wear My Sister's Wedding Dress   What The Dark Remembered

Julian was halfway through his morning meeting when Leo walked into his office with a file in his hand.He didn't interrupt immediately. He waited near the door until Julian finished speaking to the person he was on call with, then he placed the file on the desk as soon as the call ended.“Is that it?,” Julian asked, looking at the folder.Leo nodded. “Yes.”Julian opened it. “Who are they?”“Richard Hale, the senior estate administrative coordinator.”Julian's eyes moved down the first page before he looked back at Leo. “And the second?”“Victor.”Julian's expression changed almost imperceptibly.“Victor?”“His access occurred during the same window as the deletion attempt,” Leo explained. “The problem is that we haven't found anything that proves he was responsible. He had a legitimate reason to be in the administrative area that evening, and he could have accessed the system for something completely unrelated.”Julian studied the report in silence before turning to the next page. “

  • Forced to Wear My Sister's Wedding Dress   What He Finally Said

Eva woke before Julian the following morning, but she didn't move immediately. She remained on her side of the bed for a moment, staring at the ceiling and remembering the conversation from the night before. They had gone to sleep only a few feet apart, yet neither of them had made any attempt to close the space between them.Eventually, She pushed the covers aside and got out of bed. She walked toward the bathroom without looking at Julian, but just as she reached the door, his voice stopped her.“Eva.”She heard him clearly, but she continued into the bathroom without answering. She closed the door behind her and turned on the shower, trying to push away the uncomfortable feeling that settled in her chest. When she came out several minutes later, Julian was already awake. He looked at her as she crossed the room, as though he was trying to decide whether to say something again.“About yesterday—”“I'll see you downstairs,” Eva said quietly, cutting him off before he could finish.Sh

  • Forced to Wear My Sister's Wedding Dress   What She Didn't Say

Henderson found Eva at her desk a little after two, carrying a folder that looked as though it had been prepared specifically for her. He placed it carefully in front of her and gave her a look that immediately made her suspicious.“The Chairman just finalized the scheduling for the Restricted Heritage Closed Auction upstairs,” he said. “You’ve officially been assigned as the administrative lead. You’ll be managing the validation ledgers and tracking the approved buyers.”Eva looked up from her screen. “He didn’t mention any of this to me directly.”“Well I don't know why, but he mentioned it to the entire board.” Henderson’s mouth curved slightly, and there was genuine respect in his expression. “Congratulations, Mrs. Castellan. This isn’t a small assignment.”Her eyes dropped to the folder again.Once Henderson had left, she opened it and began going through the documents. The first page contained the official assignment details, and her gaze stopped when she saw her name printed be
