The deceit

Concealing her true purpose, Rosella left the mansion with an air of manufactured anger. She drove deliberately to an aged and eerie building with unsettling interior decor. Exiting the car, she approached the door and knocked.

A deep, masculine voice from inside inquired, "Who's there?"

"It's Rosella," she replied, "Open the door Jackson," her tone laced with suppressed frustration.

There was a moment's pause before the voice, belonging to Jackson, replied, "Just a moment, I'll be there."

As Rosella stood there, anticipation hung in the air, weaving a web of intrigue around her actions.

Subsequently, the door swung open, revealing Jackson's presence on the other side.

"You received my message, I see," Jackson remarked.

Perplexed, Rosella inquired, "What message?"

"Don't play games, Rosella. I reached out earlier today to remind you about my payment," Jackson clarified.

Doubt clouded her expression as Rosella questioned, "And you received confirmation when you called?"
