I find Mortensen fully dressed and about to leave the moment I open my eyes the next morning.
“I cleared some space for you, you can put your things in the closet,” he says before he walks out.

A half hour goes by, the commander says nothing to me. He just ignores my presence and continues acting as if I wasn’t in his office. She is definitely not like Mary Ann, she would have never left me unattended in the middle of the sidewalk. Matron Constance is ringing the doorbell insistently. It’s not 8:30 yet, I don’t understand why she is in such a hurry. I run downstairs as fast as I can and the moment I open the door she tells me to hurry up.“You mentioned you knew how to cook, right?” The Matron asks as we walk to the subway station.“Yes, Matron,” I reply.“Who taught you?”“My Grandma,” I say feeling a little bit saddened.
