Andrea Wilkin’s POV The garden was filled with laughter as my kids, my siblings' kids and cousins' kids were running about the garden. Today is my dad’s sixtieth birthday. My siblings and I organized this surprise birthday party for him. “Are they coming?” My brother Austin asked while cradling his third child. “Yes, mom sent me a text an hour ago that they’re preparing,” I replied. “Kirsten is blessed to have you, Austin,” I said, smiling. Austin and Nicholas are like our dad, they are hands on dad. My phone rang as Austin was about to respond. Before I answered the call, I signaled at everyone to keep quiet and they cooperated, not wanting to ruin the surprise. “Mom?” I whispered. “Andrea, your dad is asking me where we are going and the reason we are going out. What should I tell him?” I chuckled. It’s really hard for mom because dad could see through her. It’s really hard to surprise him. “Just tell him that you wanted to have a date with him,” I suggested.
Tara's POVEntering the room, my eyes grew wide in shock to see a naked woman lying on his bed. Love bites covered her body. Rage filled my heart replacing the concern I had for Andrei Kanovski. I couldn't contain my anger and I blurted out. "He's a beast!" I heard Regina, the nurse with me, gasped in trepidation. Not far from us, the President who was standing by the French window, peering outside heard my words as I spoke loudly in anger, turned and like a prowling lion he approached meFor a short while I froze when I saw the scratches on his chest, shoulders and biceps. Our eyes met. My purple eyes were arrested and held captive by his gray ones. Calmness was all I could see in his eyes. The calmness before a storm. He took steps approaching me. Eating up the distance between him and me. I stood my ground. And faced him head on. He didn't remove his gaze away from me and came close to me. So close that I could feel his warm breath on my face as he looked down on me whil
I'd better revert to my plan and go home. The following day, I went for a run before tending the garden. This is one of my favorite things I do to relieve boredom or stress. I went to my room to have a shower before striding to my kitchen to get something to drink. As I was drinking, I heard my house phone ring. I jogged toward the phone and picked up the call. "Hello," I said. "General Rossini here, Captain Smith open your garage, the president needs your help," he barked and immediately hang up. I peered at the window and saw a Bentley parked in front of my house and there were other cars parked around the corner. In haste, I picked up a gun that was in my drawer near the phone. I tucked it behind me before I strode and went outside. I have to make sure who was in the car. I'm not stupid to open my garage because I was ordered by my superior. Who knows. Perhaps it's a hoax. I used my left hand to knock on the rear passenger seat while my right hand was at my back, read
Andrei's POVPart of my plan in visiting the western border military base for inspection was to go hunting. The forest in this western border was renowned as the best hunting place in the nation.I love hunting. So I never let the opportunity pass by. Though I have my own personal bodyguards with me, General Rossini insisted on sending twenty soldiers to protect me. Excitement rushed through my veins as I smelled the forest air. Ever since I became president, I had not had a chance to go hunting. And it's been years since the last time I went hunting. After an hour being in the forest, I finally spotted a wild boar. Hunting really needs patience. I aimed my gun at the wild boar and shot. Knowing that there was no decline in my shooting skill, I got elated. Because of my excitement I did not wait for my bodyguards or the soldiers to clear the place for me. I slung my gun on my shoulder and hurriedly made my way to the wild boar. I crouched down to inspect how big the wild bo
Tara's POV"Captain Smith, thank you for saving our president's life," General Rossini's low and authoritative voice boomed inside my living room while I saluted the good general. "It's my duty and honor to do so, General," I responded with absolute respect to the man in front of me. Indeed, I respect this man like a father. He exemplified good leadership and was really loyal to our president and our nation. "May I speak to you in private?" His tone changed from a superior to a loving father. "You may, General," I said and gestured to him, "This way general." We walked into my study. I had him come in first before I followed behind him and gently closed the door. He sat on the couch and looked up. "It's no secret to you that our president has many enemies and this matter should not be divulged." I know the president's condition should be concealed or else his enemies will use this to bring trouble to him. And it wouldn't be beneficial to our nation. "I have talked with other t
"I'm thirsty," at last I heard his voice. His voice was hoarse but still pleasing to the ears. Right away, I strode up and went to get water for him. Closing the door behind me, I heard General Rossini booming laughter. I frowned hearing him laugh. How could he laugh when the President was lying on the bed because of his injury? As I came back, a solemn atmosphere enveloped the room. Cautiously, I walked towards the bed and placed the tray on the nightstand. I poured water in the glass before helping the president to sit up. I couldn't see the president's reaction but I could feel his warm breath on my neck as I helped him sit and propped his back with pillows. I reached out for the glass of water and handed it to the president. He didn't lift his hand to take it from me and just stared at me. I smiled faintly, knowing what he meant and lifted the cup to his mouth. I couldn't complain to him. After all, he's our beloved president and he's my patient. My heart jumped when I
Andrei's POVThe night I first saw her, she was feisty. She behaved like a feral cat. Her purple eyes were fiery as she faced me head on. Today, it's different. She smiled at me with her cheeks a bit flushed. I know what was running in her mind. She was embarrassed that she had scolded me that night. I looked at her blankly without giving away what I felt inside. She neared the bed and sat at the edge of the bed. I could see her concern while she checked if I had a fever. Relief was written on her face when the thermometer indicated that my temperature was normal. My heart galloped when she held my wrist. I held my breath but my pulse went wild. She frowned and asked me, stuttering, "M.. Mr. President, a - re you not feeling well?" I stared at her expressionlessly. She then took her stethoscope when I did not say a word. I watched her bewildered face. After hearing my thundering heart beat, she took a look at me. I wanted to laugh at how puzzled she was but kept my fa
After receiving an order from General Rossini, she excused herself. General Rossini and I have discussed how to keep this matter sealed and away from the public I don't want my people to be thrown into confusion upon knowing about this accident. Two hours later, we heard knocks on the door. The door was opened by the guard and he was followed by the purple eyed beauty pushing a food trolley. Knowing that she's academically excellent, I wondered what her food tasted. "I should be going, Mr. President and enjoy your dinner," he saluted to me. Before he turned to leave he winked at me. This was General Rossini's first time to act like this, as if he was matchmaking. No, I can't taint her. She's too innocent for me. She deserved better. "Mr. President?" She called softly, drawing my attention. I looked at her. Her crystal clear eyes were sparkling as they looked at me with anticipation. "Feed me," I intended to speak in a cold manner but I was surprised that my voice sounded wa
