CHAPTER EIGHT

“ Oh you all are here already I merrily said

Take your sit everyone I made pancakes,beacon,and scrambled egg as breakfast for you all.

“ Everyone sat down with a gloomy face still shaken by yesterday's event

“What’s the matter? Why do you all look so sad?”

“Do you really have to leave,Eva? Can't you stay here?”Dave said .

“Dave don't you think before speaking, Do you want to get us all killed Theresa Retored.

“Mother is right Dave,I can't put everyone's life in danger”

“Can you stop pretending already,Eva

You seem so happy that he chose you

Because his too handsome and hot

Anyone girl would have gone for him!Linda said

“She’s right! For sure you’re so happy now because you wouldn’t have to wash the dishes, prepare our food and clean our rooms anymore!” Theresa added.

“That's not true mother,who would want to sacrifice their freedom for anything.”

Linda rolled her eyes ,just stop pretending your innocent facade won't fool us ,

“Can you just stop being so insecure with Eva?! She’s going to be taken away okay?! Anything can happen to her She could be killed, she could be raped. That man obviously has no soul and for sure he’s going to hurt Eva and yet you’re still complaining about how lucky she is?! Is that really how dumb and insecure you are, huh?!!” Dave suddenly blurted out, so I held his hand just so he would calm down, but he brushed it off and looked at me. “This is all dad’s fault. How can you even sell your own daughter to that man ?!”

“Dave, Don't forget that you are talking to your father Theresa said”

“Can you all stop fighting now!! Eva took her time in making breakfast for us , it's her last day here,you all should at least express some gratitude towards her,

“Dad lowered his head,am sorry Eva,I never wanted any of this to happen, Just be patient for your father I will set everything right once again”it’s your father's promise,just hang in there for me

“With tears in my eyes I reached for his hand" “I will hold onto this promise dad,I will be waiting for you”.

After breakfast, I started packing my things

Tears kept on running down my face while I was getting ready to leave.I looked around my room where I have spent all my life and remembered how long I’ve been staying in this house.

I have so many memories attached in this room, in this house, and with the people inside it. I can’t believe I’ll have to leave it someday when I lived my whole life here. “Miss Eva …”

I quickly wiped the tears in my eyes when someone suddenly knocked on my door. I fixed myself and put all my clothes inside my bag before I stood up to open the door. I was surprised to see Vera and Patricia our maids standing by the door,in tears

“W-What are you guys doing here?”

“Miss Eva… we already know the truth. You’re going to leave us already, right?” Vera asked, she’s the eldest maid in our house, the one I’m also closest to.

“I wish I could do something my child,Vera said,

I averted my gaze to hide my eyes, which were being filled with tears again. “I-I need to leave for now. B-But don't worry I will come back when everything turns out well. I promise I will come back, and I will visit you here more often too.”

“Miss Eva, we’re going to really miss you," Patricia said while crying. I wiped the tears from her eyes and hugged her tightly.

“I will miss you all too,

I have been so close with all of our household staff here in the mansion. Especially miss vee as I fondly call who's always treated me like her child. I've been with her since I lost my mother, that's why she's really important to me.

“Take care of yourself there, Eva my child Promise us, please…”

“I promise. I will take care of myself and so you have to take care of everyone here at home, especially dave and dad.i won't always be here anymore so please consider it a favour to me please.

“They both nodded,we promise we will take care of them”

We hugged each one last time before my stepmother Theresa called them.

“Father”.....

“Dad walked towards me in tears…and embraced me in his arms.”can you ever forgive this failure of a father”

“Dad ... .I already told you that you are not a failure, everything will be fine,you need to stop saying sorry ,just take care of yourself for me,I will be back home soon

“Oh, my darling daughter…”

“I love you so much, dad…”

“Eva,Come down quickly the man is here Theresa yelled from downstairs,dad and I had to move away from each others embrace”

I looked at dad. “I’ll be going now, dad.”

“Take care of yourself, princess. I’ll come for you, just wait for daddy, okay?”

I just nodded with tears filling my eyes. “I will.”

I looked around my room one more time and carried my bag with me

As soon as I stepped outside I saw men in black suits all lined up,I looked at them nervously.

One walked up to me and took my bag.

This way “please miss Eva our boss is already waiting for you inside.”

“O-okay…..

I was about to get inside the black limousine when Dave suddenly called me. “Eva, wait!”

He ran towards me, and we embraced each other. “I will miss you, Eva…”

“I will miss you too, Dave … Take care of yourself, okay?

“I’ll take you back, Eva. I’ll take you back from that bastard, I promise you. I’ll make sure to work so hard…”Just wait for me …

I moved away from him and kissed him on his forehead. “You are the best sibling anyone could ever have. You are the only one who treated me like a real part of your family… I will miss you, Dave …”

“Me too, Eva … me too…”

“What the fuck are you still doing there? Can you stop that damn melodrama and get inside this damn car?!” The man suddenly opened the door of the limo and yelled at us. “Get inside now, woman!”

I looked at the house once more. “Goodbye, Dave…”
