LOGINSienna's POV
This morning seems more peaceful than normal. Perhaps it’s because I had a night’s sleep. Perhaps it’s because Liam stayed next to me throughout the night. I’m not sure. All I’m certain of is that when I step into the kitchen my heart continues to feel warm.I can still sense the imprint of his fingers from the moment my eyes first opened today. Liam remained asleep, his breathing gentle and steady. I couldn’t find the heart to rouse him. It was, like observing someone who’s always been resilient finally finding repose.I wrap my light cardigan tighter around myself as my feet meet the kitchen floor. The sun hasn’t completely come up. Its warm golden glow has already slipped through the kitchen curtains shimmering on the polished pots and pans. The house seems vibrant. It feels like a home, not just a fleeting refuge.I pull open the fridge. Grab the ingredients we purchased yesterday. I’m on my way.”I accompanied them to the entrance. The crisp morning breeze flowed inside chilly yet invigorating. Noah hopped a bit before slipping on his shoes. Liam knelt to assist him with the laces when Noah had trouble. Watching him so composed, patient and caring always filled my heart with a warmth I couldn’t fully describe.“We’re heading out," Liam remarked as he got up and grabbed the doorknob.Noah sprinted back over to me for an embrace. "Bye, Mommy!”“Bye, sweetheart. Have fun at school.”Liam remained upright next, to me evidently expecting an answer. I offered him a smile. "Take care driving.”That expression returned more. Soft. A bit weary. A touch cozy?“Forever," he answered quietly, almost as if it was a secret,
Sienna's POV Perhaps this is what it signifies to start over yet warmly. Gradual yet genuine. Today I sense that I’m building a fresh life with my small family.I scoop soup as Liam quietly asks, "Are you feeling nervous?”I looked at him somewhat amazed, by how he grasped what I was thinking.“A bit," I replied truthfully. "I guess this is the occasion I’m genuinely making progress. It seems like that.”“Breaking free from your comfort zone?" Liam completed my thought, his expression conveying all the things I hadn’t spoken aloud.I breathed out agreeing with a nod. "Yes. I’ve always written for myself. To calm my emotions. Now others will see it. Evaluate it. Judge it.”My grip on the spoon grew firmer. "A part of me still fears that I’m not adequate enough.”Liam stroked his chin thoughtfully before replying. "Sienna, you constantly undervalue your abilities." He leaned forward

Sienna's POV I grinned while letting out a silent cry. "So never release me.”“I won't," he replied, holding me tighter, in his embrace. At last my thoughts settled as if the entire world halted solely to allow us to have faith in one another. As the discussion concluded the atmosphere in the room became gentler and more serene. Liam reclined on the couch massaging his face. The fatigue evident in his eyes was clearer now. I understood just how taxing the day must have been, for him despite his rare complaints. He gazed at me giving a smile.“Sienna," he murmured, his tone low and a bit rough. "I’m really exhausted today. Shall we head to bed?”I looked at him briefly before nodding. "Yeah that seems like a plan.”Liam extended his hand lightly touching the back of mine before standing up. His motions were less swift, than more sluggish weighed down. He was genuinely worn out. Some
Sienna's POV I gave a nod even though that wasn’t the conclusion I was aiming for.Liam inclined his head attempting to understand what my quietness meant. "Hey, feel free to be truthful. I won’t get angry.”I gave a bitter chuckle. "I simply don’t want the events to repeat themselves.”“Which section?" Liam inquired softly despite being aware.“Five months back, when she returned." My tone faltered. "When she confessed she was still in love with you. When everything between us became complicated because you were uncertain about what to do.”Liam appeared, his eyes shutting momentarily in remorse.“Sienna," he moved nearer, clasping my hand. "At that time I was naïve. I didn’t understand how to confront my history.”I ingested.“But I’m no longer that man," he went on. "Now I understand what I’m defending. What I won’t let slip away.”I gazed at him.
Sienna's POV“Noaah!" Liam’s weary but comforting voice echoed through the living room.Noah instantly got to his feet lifting both his arms, up high. "DADDY!!”Liam didn’t even have time to loosen his tie before that small frame collided with his legs in the forceful hug Noah could manage. Liam smiled quietly reciprocating the hug and tousling Noah’s hair, which was still a bit wet, from his bath.“You nearly caused Daddy to tumble like a giant did you realize that?" he joked.“Noah was constructing a castle! Mommy is the Queen!. Noah is the knight who defends Mommy!" he declared with pride.“Oh?" Liam glanced at me a trace of something, in his gaze part relief, part intrigue. "A Queen you say?”I acted as if I was adjusting my hair attempting to conceal a grin. "Indeed. A queen was awarded the praise by her little knight.”Noah pulled on Liam’s hand. "Daddy needs to look
