Sienna's POV

Was I too dependent on him?

Was my life too tied to his name?

I had myself. My job. My identity.

And yet when his name was shaken, I was shaken too.

The café door opened several times. Each small chime made my heart leap, hoping it was Liliana.

I didn’t want to be alone with my thoughts for too long.

Because the longer I sat here, the louder the voices in my head argued.

The doorbell chimed again.

I turned.

Liliana walked quickly toward me, her face full of concern when she saw m

Wilona's POV I stood at a relatively quiet bus stop, waiting for someone. A few minutes later, Joshua appeared from across the street and immediately walked toward me when he saw me.“Wilona.”I didn’t answer. I simply lifted the black bag I had been carrying.“Here.”Joshua frowned. “What is this?”“Money.”He took the bag with a confused expression. “Money from that man?”I nodded.“Why is it so heavy?” Joshua opened the zipper slightly, and his eyes immediately widened.“This,” He stared at the stacks of cash inside. “Don’t tell me this is five hundred million?”I scoffed. “Three hundred million.”“Three hundred?”“Yes.”Joshua looked surprised. “Why so little?”I glared at him. “Little?”“He said he could only withdraw three hundred million from three different banks.”I scoffed irritably. “That man is such a hypocrite.”Joshua closed the bag. “At least we got three hundred million.”I stared at him sha

Liam's POV "Because I want to watch what is happening there."Sienna smiled. "Okay."Our car kept moving along the road. But, wanting to enjoy the driving process without thinking about something else, I tried to make my morning as serene as possible. We didn't drive for a long time, and finally, we found ourselves in front of the foundation. Slowing down our car, I stopped just in front of the gates, and Sienna unfastened her seat belt and turned to me."You are going straight to the office?""Yeah." Nodding, I said, "There are some things I need to do there."Looking at Sienna, I said, "Try to return home early today."She smiled. "You do not need to hurry too much. If you have a lot of work, then just complete it."Nodding, I said, "Okay."Sienna opened the car door, but before getting out of the car, she faced me again. "Be careful on the road."I smiled. "You also."Getting out of the car, Sienna went to the entrance of

Liam's POV After finishing our dinner, we both climbed back into the car. The morning seemed much brighter now, and we even had a laugh or two during dinner. No matter how hard it was, we didn't mention any word concerning our argument. The name of Wilona was never brought out and there was no question that could lead to tension between us.It was just the two of us again. As I started the engine and looked at Sienna sitting beside me, I was really thankful. After all the problems that happened during those weeks, I began to think that I am going to lose my wife. But this morning, Sienna is still here beside me, willing to smile and even willing to give me another chance.I tightened my grip on the steering wheel lightly. Thanks, Sienna.I promised myself that I am going to make everything better. However, for some reason, I couldn't help but think about Wilona.I can't forget about what happened on that day. From the hotel, to waking up forgetting every

Sienna's POV Nevertheless, perhaps I didn't have to do everything at once. Perhaps a second chance really started with something simple. With a flower. With an embrace. With a decision to trust someone again. I looked at Liam for a few moments before sighing. I placed my head on his chest. "I hope this will be the last time we fight like this." Liam softly caressed my hair. "I hope so too." "Don't make me doubt you again." "I promise." I closed my eyes. I hoped that he kept his promise, and I hoped that everything will be fine again starting today. Perhaps, we could eat dinner together, laugh, talk, and rebuild our mutual trust. I took a deep breath. Maybe, I really needed to learn how to forgive. Perhaps, love did not mean never getting hurt all the time. Sometimes, love meant working on the thing which was about to fall apart. That morning, I made my choice. I d

Sienna's POV I kept on staring at Liam, there was something in his eyes that made it even more difficult for me to come to a decision. I wanted to believe him. Seriously, maybe I had just overthought things. Maybe the last weeks had made my emotions unstable, because I had been so busy with the foundation, worrying about Noah and being tired of all the changes in our life. Maybe that was the reason why I was so sensitive right now. I glanced down at the flowers that were still in my hands. We have been through a lot together, losing Noah, the grieving period and those days when none of us was able to even smile. However, eventually we both managed to get on our feet again, we build the foundation and try to create a new happiness. Do I really want to ruin everything just because of some weeks full of misunderstandings? I sighed deeply. If I can't solve this problem now, maybe I'll never be able to get back to him, but the

Sienna's POV Liam looked at me. "I just wanted to give them to you."I nodded slowly. We were silent for some time.I almost forgot about the reason why I was here and that I should stay away from him. Then I looked into his eyes once again. There was something strange about him.Liam looked like a man with a very big weight on his shoulders. "Where have you been?" I asked him.His smile disappeared. His hesitation was noticeable; I saw it right away."Where were you last night?" I asked. My heart started beating faster, but I tried not to let it affect my voice."I was waiting for you to come home." Liam took a deep breath."I know.""But you didn't."Liam bowed his head. "I."He didn't finish, and now I had an even more uneasy feeling. "Why?" Liam raised his head and looked at me once again. There was something in his eyes for a brief moment. For some reason, I understood that his answer would decide whether our

Liam’s POV Emily approached, her steps hitting the terrace floor firmly. Now we were only a foot apart, and I could see her eyes wet with anger. “Then, it was my fault, wasn’t it? Wrong for trusting? Wrong for thinking we had a future?”I didn’t answer right away. Her words were li

Sienna’s POV I splashed cold water on my face. The sensation refreshed my eyes, as if washing away the last traces of sleep. I tidied my messy hair and changed out of the patient’s gown into something neater. It felt good to see my reflection in the mirror without the drained expression I ha

Liam’s POV I had just opened the front door when the sound of small footsteps came running toward me. “Daddy!” Noah shouted, his face bright with joy. He immediately hugged my leg tightly, as if afraid I might leave again. I bent down, ruffling his slightly messy hair. “Hey, Noah,”

Liam’s POV I helped pick out a few more sets of clothes, making sure to pack a thick jacket since the hospital air conditioning was usually cold. “We should bring pajamas too, so you can sleep well tonight,” I said as I folded them neatly. Noah nodded, then tossed one of his small toys into
