The attempts of the other kingdoms proved to be futile after they have already trampled on the lives of so many children. Though there are some that were blinded by the offers of their kingdoms and were treated according to what they have promised but they are already too late, the first kingdom to have accepted the Carriers as they really are have already advance too far for the other kingdoms to catch up.
A few years later after the horrifying events that had occurred in the entire world that cost the lives of so many children, people started to act normally even after seeing a young adult use their awakened ability. The other kingdoms started to see them as treasures so they are more privileged than normal citizens. Seeing how the Carriers were treated, most of the youngsters had decided to reveal that they are Carriers, immediately getting the best education and life. But they are to prove that they are actually Carriers before the government issue them all the things that they need. “Hey Zed, look at them. Don’t they have amazing abilities?” a young girl named Pierce said to her one companion after seeing the other people trying to boast their abilities in front of so many people. “What? Showing your ability is quite stupid if you ask me. People will know how to deal with you after seeing what you can do. And why are you even following me in the first place? Your mother might scold me later if she finds out that you followed me all the way here and misunderstood that I forcedly brought you here.” The young man turns to the pretty young lady behind him who just gave him a cut smile and a wink. “What? Do you not want a beautiful young lady accompanying you?” she said with a sweet smile as if she is trying to make him approve of her coming with him to this part of the city but the young man doesn’t bite her bait easily and told her to go home. “I don’t care. Beautiful or not, I have things to do here and I can’t have you following me all the time.” He said and continued to walk forward when he saw her mother staring at them. “Pierce!” the young lady almost jolt after hearing her mother called out to her. The grumpy old lady came to them and immediately scolded Zed fro bringing her daughter in that part of the town. “And you Pierce? How many times I told you not to follow him?! He is a bad influence for you! You are going to attend the academy with all the carriers as well. You don’t have time to be goofing around with this- kid.” He old lady looks down at Zed who quickly lowers his gaze and bit his lips. Unexpectedly, Pierce stood up for Zed against her own mother which surprises the two. “What are you talking about? And why are you badmouthing Zed? I was the one that insisted on following him. Do you know that he had been telling me to stop following him until we arrive here? So you have no right to talk to him like that!” Pierce immediately sent sound wave that made everyone else aside from her kneel to the ground after their ears started ringing badly. Her mother immediately grabs on to her and tells her to go home. “You better be ready when I get home.” She then turns to Zed who is also suffering from the pain on his ears. The old lady pinched Pierce’s thigh that made her follow her mother’s orders. She glanced at Zed before leaving and apologized. “I’m sorry Zed.” She said with a sad tone while walking back. ‘This is what you learn when you stick with him. An orphan and a mongrel at the same time.” She cursed at Zed before leaving to follow her daughter. Zed looks at them walking away from him before turning his head back to the place where he plans to go from the very beginning. When he is about to continue walking, an old lady offers him a cotton to wipe the blood from his ears. “You should wipe the blood from your ears young man.” The old vendor smiled to him and he smiles back, thanking her for the help. “I will make sure to pay you back madam.” The old vendor shakes her head and told him that it is unnecessary. “What could possibly a young man like you have to offer to me? I have already got everything that I need. Don’t mind it and just continue on your way. You seem to be heading somewhere important.” Zed then gently bow his head and went on his way after the old vendor insisted. Zed went at the back of the alley and entered a well maintained mansion just behind the market where he met Pierce’s mother. “You’re a bit late Zed. The master is already waiting for you upstairs.” A man wearing a butler suit greeted him right after entering the door. “Sorry, something came up along the way.” The but let then noticed the bloodstains on his clothes and the dry blood that seem to have dripped from his ears and figured that something happened so he spared him from scolding. “Anyway, just go to the master.” “Thank you Mr. Krono.” The butler nod his head as Zed makes his way to the second floor and saw the man he is looking for watering the plants near the balcony. “Good morning master, I’m sorry that I am a bit late. There just some circumstances that appeared.” He immediately grovels to the floor as the man turns to look at him with a conflicted expression. “What are you doing? There is no need to go that far. I saw everything from here. There is no need for you to apologize.” Zed then looks at the master and thanks him for being kind even though he is late. “We are going to do the same thing today. So please be ready.” A few hours later and his business with the master of the mansion is finished and as he walks in the same path that he took earlier that morning, he saw the old vendor walking in a small alley. A smile appears on his face and immediately run toward the old vendor only to realize that she is not alone. The old vendor notices him and shakes her head gently. Telling him not to come any closer. It turns out that a few men are forcing her to walk inside the alley with a knife pointed at her back. Zed immediately felt his heart drown in sorrow. “I really am pathetic. I got help from the old vendor twice in a single day.” He tightly gripped his fists and decides to save the old vendor from the person threatening her. “Give us all that you’ve got old woman.” But when the old vendor tries to resist, she immediately got slapped. “That is not a friendly reminder geezer, that is an order.” One of the men sad coldly and aims to slap the old vendor again when Zed calls out to them. “Hey you pussies! Is an old vendor really the only person that you can threaten? Don’t you feel ashamed you bastards?!” he yelled with the intention of taking their attention. “Now who the hell is this? Your friend?” before the old vendor could answer, she got slapped on the face again. “Playing the hero huh? Let’s see how you will handle this.” KSSSH! DRIP! DRIP! DRIP! DRIP!The old vendor got stabbed in her sides and Zed immediately rushes in to help her but the men blocked him. “Move!” the men just laughed and actually injured him with the knife as well. “Really? Does that give you the answer?” the man said with a smile on his face. Zed then saw the old vendor trying to gasp for air and he knows that she doesn’t have much time left. “Move or I will be forced to use any means to move you by force!” the men mocked him after saying those words because he is a child. And he knows that it might be the reason why they are acting like that but what matters to him the most right now is to save the old vendor from dying. “This is all my fault! She got stabbed because I butt in! Zed you mindless fool!” he cursed himself as the men continues to call him names and even laughed at the old vendor who is on her dying moments. “So what are you going to do kid?” “I will move you by force.” Zed responded as the sky turned dark all of the sudden
“What you did yesterday is really unnecessary Zed. What give you the idea that you should be doing that? I thought you don’t want people to know that you are a carrier?” his master asked after the next day. “I don’t know master, it just popped up in my head. Maybe my feelings got hurt when the old vendor got injured because of my stupidity.” The master continues to smile and water the plants and forgives Zed. “That is fine. I know exactly how you feel. In that case just thank Krono for taking care of everything in your stead. He did spent an awful lot of time just to take care of the people that you injured though I have to say, your summon seems to be a lot obedient that time to be doing what you want it to do.” Zed got surprised of what his master said and looks at him. “What do you mean? All I did was summon him and did what you have told me to do and order him in my head.” The master just smiled without looking at the young man w
Zed passed by Ameria’s house like it was any normal day to him and forgot that his new instructor, Ms. Gwen told him of her presence during their training. “Hmm that’s really strange, this is the first time that she did not bother me on my way back home.” He stopped for a moment and wondered what might be the reason and then continues on before her mother starts yelling at him for trying to talk to her daughter. “I guess that would be great. She will never have to get scolded again. She might get hurt because of me if she continues to follow me everyday.” He sad to himself as he enters is home. “I’m back.” He used to say this even when he is the only one living in that house after his parents abandoned that city because of their debts, Zed was playing outside when all of his family members left and went to who knows where, leaving only Zed to live by himself ever since they disappeared, with only Ameria being the only friend that he ever got close to because
Zed went back to the mansion where his master is already waiting for him. “Have you read the letter?” Krono asked after Zed arrives in front of the mansion like twig who is almost about to be blown away by the wind. “Yes. I have read it after you have left. Mr. Krono, can you tell how to be a strong person?” Krono looks at him and smiles after hearing that the has that in his mind when he is almost at deaths door. “I think you better ask the master about that instead of me. I am not the best person so be asked such things. My knowledge is limited to some extent.” Krono responded and opens the door for him. “They are waiting for you. You better not make them impatient now.” A smile crept on Krono’s face after. Seeing the Krono doesn’t have any intention of telling him anything, Zed accept the invitation and went inside where he saw Ven and Gwen waiting for him on the other side of the door. “Took you too long. We were wondering if you might have died on hunger
Zed had gone through a lot of pain just with Gwen’s training alone but all of the were healed when he talks with Krono who encourages him not to give up and continue to be faithful. He endured that kind of training for almost a year where he got numb from all the pain that Gwen was able to inflict on him that even she got surprised about it as well. And one day, Zed showed her that he is no longer capable of feeling the pain that she can do to him. BAM! “What the hell is with this guy? Its only been a few months since he got used to the pain of my attacks but he is showing now signs of pain now.” She said to herself after landing a clean hit to the pit of his stomach. “Looks like you have gone through the pain.” She said with a smile on her face. “I don’t know. Maybe I just got used to the pain that I am feeling everyday, especially when you try to put so much force on your attacks.” He said with an indifferent tone and gives her the l
After that little incident, Zed fainted and wakes up a week after. “Ah- my head hurts.” He said softly and found that he is inside his room with his masters looking at him in surprise. “What happened?” he asked the two are seems to be a bit surprised of his sudden awakening. Not much, you just slept for almost week is all.” Gwen said as if it was a normal thing to happen with a casual tone. Zed looks at his master Ven for a confirmation and he slightly nod his head. “For a week? I was asleep for that long?” “Well that is normal whenever a Carrier is able to accept his ability as his own. Though people would normally fall asleep for a day or two but this is my first time encountering someone that fell asleep for almost a week.” Ven told him and clapped his hands to his disciple for completing the training. “Though it is normal to see people sleeping for almost every last stage, their sleeping are always the one that determines how strong their abilities are a
“Looks like we are reaching Bruman.” Ven said when he sensed the familiar atmosphere of his homeland. “Master, why do you call it Bruman when it is called Acadia?” Zed asked out of curiosity and Gwen laughed. “Well, we just all it Bruman because we want to and nobody knows what Bruman is so it is convenient for us to use that name instead of Acadia. That way they can’t tell that we came from this place.” She explain vaguely. “Is that really the only reason?” Gwen then looks at him suspiciously and glared at him. “Are you perhaps doubting us now?” Ven could not help but laugh at the wo of them and held them off before a fight is about to start. “Gwen, you are too old to start a fight with a kid. its just normal for him to act like that you know? Even if I was him I would also asked the same question. Who in the world use a different name to call their homeland like we did. He would naturally act like that if anything.” Gwen then laughed at how serious the tw
The first thing that they did was replace all the furniture inside the mansion before they could eat their supper. Zed and Krono had to help Sebastian in replacing all the furniture before Ven flip in anger. “That was really tiresome. The large table almost bot wrecked.” Zed muttered as he pants in exhaustion. “Thankfully Lucierro was there to help us with the sudden work.” Krono looks at Zed with a smile on their faces before they burst in laughter. “Sebastian, the next time the king does something like this, please decline and if you can do better, it would be nice if you could just ignore him. I hate it every time he does that.” Ven added as he clicks his tongue with a glare. “But I guess this really is different and a lot better than what was here earlier.” Zed added as he takes a look around everything that they have replace. “I can see why the master wants it all back now.” He added. “I know. Not only that he likes
