In the year 383 when the human civilization had just started discovering things and building their own empire, people started exhibiting questionable and strange abilities after the great colonial war had ended. Most of the people are still not aware of such a thing but due to the number of children showing abilities that any normal human don’t have, they grew wary and thought that they are cursed. Thinking that the children are spawns of the devil, they decided to do an inhumane act and that is to burn all the children that exhibit special abilities.
The children are hunted down and burned at the center of the village, parent watch their children burn to death because of their fear towards them but there are also some parents that chose to hide that their children have special abilities and kept it from ever being know to strangers, even their friends. It all continued for almost two years. Hundreds, thousands of children died all over the world. While all the other kingdoms use different ways to kill the monsters that is a threat to their security, there is a kingdom that see those children as gifted ones and use that to their advantage. That kingdom did all the experiment that they can have which resulted to less death than the other empires have had in the past few years. They were able to understand how the special ability surface and that only children were able to manifest such abilities. Anyone at the age of 16 and below have chances of manifesting their abilities and that is what made that kingdom powerful. With that knowledge that all the other empires do not have, that certain kingdom sent people to gather all the persecuted and hiding gifted children back to their kingdom where they are treated with outmost care than that they received from their originated kingdoms. At first it was a bit difficult for their kingdom to start but as time goes by, the children were able to control their abilities properly. The king sees this and use it to his advantage over the other empires. He used the children as weapons tat easily dominates all the battles that they fought. They only spent a few hours to defeat an opposing kingdom’s army that should have taken a bit longer than how long it takes in the past.. What makes the children eager to defeat the opposing armies is that the persecuted children shared their experience to the others who immediately sympathizes for them, making all the children show no mercy to the ones that harmed their fellow gifted. The other kingdoms sees how easily they are defeated by the monsters that they deemed evil. And so they decided to do the same thing but the people have already been planted with fear, it became a common practice for them to avoid getting caught by other people using their abilities. And most of the kingdoms ended with the same result. Almost no people had answered their call, even when they did all they can to apologize for their deeds but the guilt of killing their own children still haunts the parents. It went differently from what they expected. “Look at all those idiots trying to do the same thing that I did. Sadly for them its too late. You have already broken the rust of the citizens let alone make them bear the guilt of killing their own children. You trying to do the same thing that I had done only make you all look desperate. Who is laughing now? You all call me crazy and out of my mind but look at how it turned out to be? Now you are all kissing my ass trying to get some help from me? Are you all taking me as a joke? That is what you get for trying to get rid of changes before you even start to study it.” A man sitting on a throne muttered to himself while smiling.“From this day forth, we should call them ‘Carriers’.” The king addressed his subjects as they cheer for him at a distance and adores his presence. The attempts of the other kingdoms proved to be futile after they have already trampled on the lives of so many children. Though there are some that were blinded by the offers of their kingdoms and were treated according to what they have promised but they are already too late, the first kingdom to have accepted the Carriers as they really are have already advance too far for the other kingdoms to catch up. A few years later after the horrifying events that had occurred in the entire world that cost the lives of so many children, people started to act normally even after seeing a young adult use their awakened ability. The other kingdoms started to see them as treasures so they are more privileged than normal citizens. Seeing how the Carriers were treated, most of the youngsters had decided to reveal that they are Carriers, immediately getting the best education and life. But they are to prove that they are actually Carriers before the government issue them a
The old vendor got stabbed in her sides and Zed immediately rushes in to help her but the men blocked him. “Move!” the men just laughed and actually injured him with the knife as well. “Really? Does that give you the answer?” the man said with a smile on his face. Zed then saw the old vendor trying to gasp for air and he knows that she doesn’t have much time left. “Move or I will be forced to use any means to move you by force!” the men mocked him after saying those words because he is a child. And he knows that it might be the reason why they are acting like that but what matters to him the most right now is to save the old vendor from dying. “This is all my fault! She got stabbed because I butt in! Zed you mindless fool!” he cursed himself as the men continues to call him names and even laughed at the old vendor who is on her dying moments. “So what are you going to do kid?” “I will move you by force.” Zed responded as the sky turned dark all of the sudden
“What you did yesterday is really unnecessary Zed. What give you the idea that you should be doing that? I thought you don’t want people to know that you are a carrier?” his master asked after the next day. “I don’t know master, it just popped up in my head. Maybe my feelings got hurt when the old vendor got injured because of my stupidity.” The master continues to smile and water the plants and forgives Zed. “That is fine. I know exactly how you feel. In that case just thank Krono for taking care of everything in your stead. He did spent an awful lot of time just to take care of the people that you injured though I have to say, your summon seems to be a lot obedient that time to be doing what you want it to do.” Zed got surprised of what his master said and looks at him. “What do you mean? All I did was summon him and did what you have told me to do and order him in my head.” The master just smiled without looking at the young man w
Zed passed by Ameria’s house like it was any normal day to him and forgot that his new instructor, Ms. Gwen told him of her presence during their training. “Hmm that’s really strange, this is the first time that she did not bother me on my way back home.” He stopped for a moment and wondered what might be the reason and then continues on before her mother starts yelling at him for trying to talk to her daughter. “I guess that would be great. She will never have to get scolded again. She might get hurt because of me if she continues to follow me everyday.” He sad to himself as he enters is home. “I’m back.” He used to say this even when he is the only one living in that house after his parents abandoned that city because of their debts, Zed was playing outside when all of his family members left and went to who knows where, leaving only Zed to live by himself ever since they disappeared, with only Ameria being the only friend that he ever got close to because
Zed went back to the mansion where his master is already waiting for him. “Have you read the letter?” Krono asked after Zed arrives in front of the mansion like twig who is almost about to be blown away by the wind. “Yes. I have read it after you have left. Mr. Krono, can you tell how to be a strong person?” Krono looks at him and smiles after hearing that the has that in his mind when he is almost at deaths door. “I think you better ask the master about that instead of me. I am not the best person so be asked such things. My knowledge is limited to some extent.” Krono responded and opens the door for him. “They are waiting for you. You better not make them impatient now.” A smile crept on Krono’s face after. Seeing the Krono doesn’t have any intention of telling him anything, Zed accept the invitation and went inside where he saw Ven and Gwen waiting for him on the other side of the door. “Took you too long. We were wondering if you might have died on hunger
Zed had gone through a lot of pain just with Gwen’s training alone but all of the were healed when he talks with Krono who encourages him not to give up and continue to be faithful. He endured that kind of training for almost a year where he got numb from all the pain that Gwen was able to inflict on him that even she got surprised about it as well. And one day, Zed showed her that he is no longer capable of feeling the pain that she can do to him. BAM! “What the hell is with this guy? Its only been a few months since he got used to the pain of my attacks but he is showing now signs of pain now.” She said to herself after landing a clean hit to the pit of his stomach. “Looks like you have gone through the pain.” She said with a smile on her face. “I don’t know. Maybe I just got used to the pain that I am feeling everyday, especially when you try to put so much force on your attacks.” He said with an indifferent tone and gives her the l
After that little incident, Zed fainted and wakes up a week after. “Ah- my head hurts.” He said softly and found that he is inside his room with his masters looking at him in surprise. “What happened?” he asked the two are seems to be a bit surprised of his sudden awakening. Not much, you just slept for almost week is all.” Gwen said as if it was a normal thing to happen with a casual tone. Zed looks at his master Ven for a confirmation and he slightly nod his head. “For a week? I was asleep for that long?” “Well that is normal whenever a Carrier is able to accept his ability as his own. Though people would normally fall asleep for a day or two but this is my first time encountering someone that fell asleep for almost a week.” Ven told him and clapped his hands to his disciple for completing the training. “Though it is normal to see people sleeping for almost every last stage, their sleeping are always the one that determines how strong their abilities are a
“Looks like we are reaching Bruman.” Ven said when he sensed the familiar atmosphere of his homeland. “Master, why do you call it Bruman when it is called Acadia?” Zed asked out of curiosity and Gwen laughed. “Well, we just all it Bruman because we want to and nobody knows what Bruman is so it is convenient for us to use that name instead of Acadia. That way they can’t tell that we came from this place.” She explain vaguely. “Is that really the only reason?” Gwen then looks at him suspiciously and glared at him. “Are you perhaps doubting us now?” Ven could not help but laugh at the wo of them and held them off before a fight is about to start. “Gwen, you are too old to start a fight with a kid. its just normal for him to act like that you know? Even if I was him I would also asked the same question. Who in the world use a different name to call their homeland like we did. He would naturally act like that if anything.” Gwen then laughed at how serious the tw
