Hayden’s POV

When Abby stepped out of the fitting room, I almost didn’t recognize her. She looked…Damn!

The dress hugged her in all the right places, revealing soft curves I hadn’t even noticed before. Not curvy like Marbel, no, but hers was ... .uhm, kind of subtle and different in a distracting way.

“Does this fit the occasion, sir?”

The voice of the client advisor cut through my haze. I blinked at her, then looked back at Abby.

My eyes stayed longer than they should’ve.

My gaze dragged down to the legs the gown left exposed. They were long, smooth, model-like. And then up again, to the slight dip of her neckline, and the waves of auburn hair cascading past her shoulders. Goddess!

Rey stirred hard from within. He practically wanted to do something unimaginable with her right now. But I forced him down.

I blinked fast and locked it all back in. Composure, Hayden. You’re an Alpha.

Struggling to get the words out, I cleared my throat and replied. “Yeah. Perfect.”

  • Forsaken by the Moongoddess    Fixing What I Broke

Hayden's POV Her body crashed against mine.Soft, trembling, warm.My brain told me to let go, but my hands clutched her tighter, betraying me. We were both frozen in place. She was wrapped in my arms. I could feel her breath. Shallow. Rapid. Her chest rising and falling against mine. And goddess… I’ve never felt more torn in my life.I shifted my gaze, forcing it away from the rise of her chest, away from her exposed thigh. I tried to focus on anything else. But damn it, I couldn’t.She tried to step back, probably out of reflex, but her wet foot slipped again and this time, I heard a soft crack. She gasped and winced.Damn it, Abby,” I muttered, catching her before she hit the ground again. This time her body sagged into mine, weaker.“Are you okay?”She gripped my arm tightly. “My ankle,” she muttered. “I think I twisted it.”I didn’t hesitate. Without another word, I scooped her into my arms. Her wet skin pressed against my shirt, soaking through, but I didn’t care. Her arms inst

  • Forsaken by the Moongoddess    My Mistakes

Hayden’s POVAlex stared at me and scoffed. “Don't do something you'll regret, man.”I didn’t answer. Just turned and walked to the bathroom to wash my bleeding hand. The cut was a bit deep, but it would heal before dawn. I grabbed the first aid kit. Alex followed and helped wrap the bandage, tightening it just enough to stop the bleeding.“Any updates on the Ashwolves?” I asked.“No. Still the same. I gave Lucious a few assignments to do. Hopefully, something gives.” He paused. “Soon.”I nodded. “Good.”A knock came at the door. Alex sniffed. “Human.”He opened it. Room service.Lucious must’ve ordered for everyone again. I usually don’t care what they bring, but this time, I needed to be sure.“Did you ask Abby what she wanted,” I said, “or did you just order for her too?”“I think Lucious handled it.” Alex replied.I nodded slowly. “Next time, ask her. I don’t want her to misunderstand me again.”Alex’s brow rose slightly, but I ignored him and walked to the door. “Call the cleaner

  • Forsaken by the Moongoddess    Scars of the Alpha

Hayden’s POV I stood in front of the mirror in my suite, staring at my reflection. Her words wouldn’t stop echoing in my head.“Because he doesn’t treat people like shit. Like they’re pieces in a game. He listens. He cares. He’s kind-hearted. And not as authoritarian, ruthless, selfish, or inconsiderate as you.”Every word hit like a blade. Sharp. Intentional. Unforgiving. I clenched my fist.I let out a low growl, stepping away from the mirror. Selfish? Inconsiderate? I scoffed bitterly as I walked to the minibar and pulled out a bottle of my favorite cognac. I poured myself a glass and downed it in one go. Then another. The second one burned more, and the sting only fueled the ache inside. With a hiss, I flung the empty glass at the wall. It shattered instantly. How could she be so wrong about me?I ran a hand through my hair, heart thumping like it wanted to escape my chest. My parents flashed in my mind like a curse I couldn't outrun. My mother’s manipulation. My father’s weaknes

  • Forsaken by the Moongoddess    A Missed Step

Abby's POV I heard Derek curse under his breath. I glanced at Hayden, but he looked away and shifted to a seat farther from us. He didn’t say anything. Just sat there quietly, like it didn’t bother him to see me sitting with Derek. A bartender walked up to him, and he said something briefly. Maybe an order. My heart thudded. I really did not know what to make of Hayden’s silence. It was… disturbing. Really disturbing. Derek must’ve felt it too. He glanced at Hayden, raised a brow like he couldn’t quite believe the sudden quiet. He scoffed softly, then leaned toward me. “You okay?” he asked. I nodded, then glanced back at Hayden. He looked like he was on a call, but when his eyes flicked in my direction, our gazes locked. I couldn’t read anything in them before he looked away. The bartender returned with a drink and placed it on the table beside him. “I don’t trust his quietness,” Derek muttered. “Just call me if he tries anything stupid later, when you’re both inside alone. I

  • Forsaken by the Moongoddess    Buried in His Silence

Abby's POVThen… he stepped back. His jaw tightened, but still said nothing. Not a single word. He only turned and walked past me into the lobby. It was only then I noticed Lucious and Alex standing a few feet away. They didn’t say anything either. Just followed their alpha inside.I stood there, rooted to the ground. A few minutes passed. I didn’t move.Honestly, I would’ve felt better if he had shouted. Get angry, yell, or do something annoying he would have typically done. But this silence? It scared me.Eventually, I dragged myself to my suite. Dropped my purse. Kicked off my heels and wear a comfy slippers. Still in the dress, I stepped out again and up to the rooftop lounge. The night air kissed my skin. Cool, quiet. People are quiet much today compared to previous night. Sign that time hasn't gone much.I sank into one of the lounge chairs, sinking deeper into….I don't even know. I really do not know what I'm sinking deeper into. As if the universe could hear me, the soft hum

  • Forsaken by the Moongoddess    The Words Slipped Out

Abby's POV Derek saved me at the mask ball from watching Hayden dance with a woman, maybe another of his girlfriends. I don’t know. But seeing them broke my heart in a way I still can’t lay my fingers on.Derek didn’t say anything. He probably noticed my distress. He just guided me gently into a dance, and suddenly, memories we once shared started flooding back, one after another. I felt deeply conflicted, unsure of myself in a way I never had before. The way I feel about Derek, my longtime crush who makes life feel simpler… and then Hayden, the ruthless and emotionless Alpha. After a few minutes, Hayden came towards us. His fists were clenched. With the kind of person he is, it was obvious he was just seconds away from punching Derek in the face until Alpha Edward called him away. For a drink and probably business talk.Later, Derek and I found a quiet corner to chat. He didn’t bring up anything heavy but kept it light instead. Just talked about the things we used to do together bac
