Abby's POV

Derek saved me at the mask ball from watching Hayden dance with a woman, maybe another of his girlfriends. I don’t know. But seeing them broke my heart in a way I still can’t lay my fingers on.

Derek didn’t say anything. He probably noticed my distress. He just guided me gently into a dance, and suddenly, memories we once shared started flooding back, one after another. I felt deeply conflicted, unsure of myself in a way I never had before. The way I feel about Derek, my longtime crush who makes life feel simpler… and then Hayden, the ruthless and emotionless Alpha.

After a few minutes, Hayden came towards us. His fists were clenched. With the kind of person he is, it was obvious he was just seconds away from punching Derek in the face until Alpha Edward called him away. For a drink and probably business talk.

Later, Derek and I found a quiet corner to chat. He didn’t bring up anything heavy but kept it light instead. Just talked about the things we used to do together bac

  • Forsaken by the Moongoddess    The Elixir of Varran

Abby's POV It felt totally unbelievable that I was feeding Hayden like this. He didn’t even stop me, just obeyed. I couldn’t help but look at him. The mighty Alpha himself. I almost chuckled at the thought.I’d almost had a heart attack a few hours ago when I saw him being carried away from the stadium. Seeing him on the hospital bed broke me even more. I realized how much I’m already into him. How deep my feelings for him had gone. He’d been complaining bitterly like a child about losing the race. I knew that stung his ego, but health comes first, and I told him that.I cleaned the crumbs of food by his lips with my fingers. And I let my hand linger there beside his mouth for a few seconds. I was tempted to kiss him. But he was busy, receiving calls from Alphas checking on him, so he wasn’t paying attention to me.He looked so cute and calm. That trace of ruthlessness, gone. All I saw now was an obedient man-child.A thought crept into my mind and made my heart thud. How would it fe

  • Forsaken by the Moongoddess    When Instinct Screams No

Hayden’s POVA monitor beeped steadily in the background. My eyes flung open. Something soft pressed against my nose. Oxygen?I yanked it off.The sharp smell of antiseptic hit me first, making me squeeze my nose. Pack hospital. My jaw clenched. What the fuck am I doing here?I hate hospitals. Always have. Ever since I was a kid. Drips. Injections. Disgusting. That’s why I take my health seriously. To avoid this exact situation. Anything beyond first aid treatment, I'm out.My nose itched. I sneezed.“Alpha!” Alex and Lucious rushed to my side. I hadn’t even realized they were in the room.Lucios exhaled, running a palm down his face. Their expressions were grim.I tried to sit up too fast. But weakness slammed into me.“What the fuck happened?” I growled slowly, yanking off the lines, drips or whatever they attached to my body.“You collapsed,” Alex said.My brows drew together as flashes of the race rushed back. I remembered Derek veering into my lane, trying to throw me off balanc

  • Forsaken by the Moongoddess    Not Just a Race

Abby’s POV I blinked hard as the memory came rushing back. My jaw dropped. I couldn’t even close my mouth. So, it was Hayden. I remembered how his wolf had kept nuzzling against me in a gentle and comforting manner before Alex came calling.I wrapped my arms around myself, heart twisting. I didn’t know if I was more stunned realising it was Hayden… or by the fact that he’d never mentioned that to me. Had he liked me since then? And just masked it with that strong-headed, cold exterior? I shook my head, lips curving. And for some reason... I grinned. This man. They were already on the 30th lap. I looked at him, there was no sign of exhaustion at all. Infact, he had left everyone far behind.I looked at where Derek was. He was in second place, but the gap between him and Hayden was still wide. He also wasn't showing any sign of tiredness either. Not one bit. Just pure focus. Closing in on hayden lap by lap.The crowd also noticed how he was closing in on Hayden. The cheers shifted. Wh

  • Forsaken by the Moongoddess    The Alpha Race Challenge

Abby’s POVBefore I could ask him anything, he had already stepped out. He was gone for a few minutes before returning. He slid back behind the wheel, his blue eyes fixed on mine intently. Then, without saying a word, he brought out a small red box and opened it.A glinting silver necklace lay inside, with a crescent moon pendant.“Since I’m fixing this, us, I want to renew my vow sincerely this time… with this,” he said, still looking at me.I blinked, stunned. Seriously? I wasn't expecting this. “What are you doing man?”“Will you accept this imperfect man as your mate and husband?”A small smile tugged at my lips. “Yes.”He smiled brightly. The kind of smile that reached his eyes. The kind I’d never seen on him before. Something warm slipped quietly into my chest. “Thank you. It’s so beautiful,” I said, almost whispering, as I picked it up.He took the necklace from my hands and helped me put it around my neck. When he was done, he sealed it with a soft kiss.“Think of me anytime

  • Forsaken by the Moongoddess    A Three-Degree Turnaround

Abby's POV His steps faltered. But he quickly composed himself and masked his expression. I know he didn’t expect to see me like this in Hayden’s arms, not after knowing how the situation between me and Hayden was as at the time that we spoke at the rooftop the previous day.Hayden didn’t slow. Didn’t even glance at him. He only tightened his arms around me and pressed a kiss on my lips.Derek’s jaw clenched. He pressed his lips into a thin line before looking away and walking out of the lobby. My heart was suddenly racing for reasons I couldn’t explain. When we got to the car, Hayden finally placed me down. Alex and Lucious were already waiting.Hayden looked at me without saying anything but I knew what that look meant. Was I going to ride with him now or keep choosing to ride with Alex, like before?“I’ll roll down the window,” he said, still watching me.I gave a weak smile and leaned into his chest. He let out a slow breath, like he'd been holding it the whole time. Then opened

  • Forsaken by the Moongoddess    Dream Born from Doubt

Abby's POV I pressed my lips into a thin line. “Nothing,” I said.“Really?” he asked, one of his brows raised.I gave a small shrug.“Alright,” he said, clearly not convinced. “If you insist on keeping your dream a secret.”He crouched beside the bed, gently checking my ankle.I watched him, my thoughts drifting back to the dream. My stomach tightened. In it, we had a big misunderstanding. A big one that I cried. We weren’t talking anymore and I couldn’t find out who was at fault before I woke up.But I knew where that dream came from. It’s not real. It was the thought I had right before falling asleep. Mother used to say when we were younger that whatever troubles your heart before bedtime will slip into your dreams. And she was right.I had been quietly doubting Hayden’s sudden change. Not because I didn’t want to trust him, but because… I was scared. Freya would call it fear of the unknown. But maybe it’s time I stopped second-guessing. Maybe it’s time I let myself believe this ne
