Chapter 9 Just a Coincidence

The driver's voice brought Joshua's sanity back.

The panic that had just flickered in his mind disappeared without a trace.

Aliana's indifferent look made Joshua feel depressed and upset at once.

He raised an eyebrow, his face twitching.

Joshua got out of the car and stopped paying attention to Aliana.

"Go to the principal's office."

"OK."

The conversation between the two made the driver feel so awkward.

Smiling, he walked them into the school and returned to the car with a long sigh of relief.

It was the first time that Joshua stayed in the same car as Aliana.

In the past, it was always Leia who chatted with Joshua in the car. Joshua would smile, take over Leia's tablet, and show her the beautiful toys and jewelry.

Then he would memorize all the ones that Leia had her eye on and then go to the luxury stores to buy them.

The driver was shocked by the rich's life at first, but now, he was already numb.

He became indifferent.

But today, he was surprised.

At first glance, he thought Aliana was a servant's child.

But she was indeed the daughter of the Harriman family.

The driver thought, "How could the atmosphere between them be so embarrassing?

It was so embarrassing that he held his breath as he drove.

The driver looked at their receding backs.

He began to be worried about Aliana.

The two walked to the principal's office without speaking.

On the way, Aliana almost jogged to keep up with Joshua, and by the time they reached the principal's office, she could hardly catch her breath.

When Joshua saw her tired face, he scolded her.

"You look terrible! Hurry up and adjust yourself."

Aliana wanted to give Joshua a black look. She struggled to adjust her breathing.

Joshua knocked on the door.

"Come in."

Mr. Hardin's calm and mellow voice came from inside the room.

Joshua opened the door and saw a middle-aged man with gray hair. The man smiled as he watched the siblings enter.

"Mr. Hardin, long time no see."

Joshua immediately bowed respectfully to the principal.

Aliana, who was following behind, also hurriedly mimicked Joshua's movements.

Neil Hardin smiled and stood up to greet Joshua and Aliana.

Neil laughed, "Long time no see. The most brilliant student back then has become so successful!"

"It's all thanks to you."

After the two finished their courtesy, Neil looked at Aliana behind Joshua.

A hint of obscurity flashed in Neil's eyes, and then he looked at Joshua probingly.

"Is this your sister?"

"Yes."

Neil didn't say anything else, and he once again looked Aliana up and down.

"Mr. Hardin, my sister's clothes today are indeed a bit inappropriate... How about I take her back and let her change?"

"Not at all."

Neil interrupted Joshua.

Neil came to Aliana's side and sided her up seriously.

"She looks neat and clean. What's wrong with her clothes?"

Neil patted Aliana on her small shoulder. His warning look made Joshua involuntarily bow his head slightly.

"You're right, Mr. Hardin. I took her here on my way to work, and now that she's arrived, I'm relieved to leave her to you."

With nothing more to say, Joshua wasted no time and intended to go straight away.

Before he left, he pulled Aliana over and got closer to her.

"Keep a low profile at school and don't disgrace us."

Aliana felt Joshua's cool breath spraying around her ear.

The moment his breath touched Aliana's skin, she ducked Joshua.

The sudden dodge caused Neil, who was watching from behind, to narrow his eyes.

Joshua stiffened, pursing his lips to restrain his anger. He stood up straight after that warning and politely said goodbye to Neil.

He left without a second thought.

Aliana and Neil were left alone in the office, staring at each other.

Neil crouched down before Aliana and rubbed her head compassionately.

"Welcome to our school. I'll have your homeroom teacher take you to your classroom later. If you need anything, you can come to me."

"Thank you, Mr. Hardin."

Aliana's eyes were bright and pure.

But they were filled with emotions different from any other children's.

At a glance, one could tell that she was a sensible child.

But it made people feel sad for her.

Neil rubbed Aliana's head once more when the door opened.

Aliana's homeroom teacher appeared.

"Mr. Hardin, I'm here to pick up the child."

The woman was heavily made up, and her clothes were tight.

The strong scent of her perfume made Aliana quietly hold her breath.

Neil frowned.

"It's ruled that teachers should set good examples and dress properly, isn't it? Ms. Ponce, if I find you dressed like this again, I'll punish you."

Neil's criticism made Briana Ponce stand up straight and rub her hands. She did not dare to look ahead.

A hint of panic was revealed on her face.

Aliana saw a hint of viciousness flash across Briana's lowered face.

Aliana's hands began to chill.

No one around her was easy to get along with. She was not sure if she could have a good time in school.

Briana turned her eyes to Aliana and looked her up and down seriously.

Sure enough, the dislike in her eyes was obvious.

Briana thought, "Isn't this just a bumpkin?

Her designer clothes are outdated. Her skin is lusterless, and her hair is like straws."

Briana gritted her teeth fiercely.

At yesterday's meeting, she was told that there would be a new student soon.

It was past the back-to-school season. To maintain the exquisite environment, the school would not recruit any more students.

But there would be a new student. This meant the student had a very special background to get Neil to agree.

That was why yesterday Briana was so enthusiastic. She kicked the leg of Xavier Esther, the dean of students, under the table, signaling this middle-aged man to let this student come to her class.

She wanted to pull the strings.

Xavier, who had a fat belly, felt Briana touching his calf with her warm and soft foot, and he got apoplectic.

Immediately looking at Briana, his heart knew, he smiled lewdly and rubbed his leg against Briana's to show that he had understood.

Briana naturally became the new student's teacher.

So she was dressed so sexily today to repay Xavier.

Briana couldn't be more thrilled to get the new student's information.

Aliana Harriman.

She was surnamed Harriman.

At this juncture, she was recruited as an exception. Briana had already decided that Aliana was the child of the Harriman family, the top family in Silvercrest.

Briana happily came to the principal's office to pick up her student, only to see this bumpkin in front of her.

She was overwhelmed by disappointment after a night of anticipation.

She thought, "This is not the Harriman family's child at all.

It's just a coincidence!"
